I'm not 100% sure on this but maybe its like Avocado here, most of the ranches here sell almost exclusively for export so ironically they're outrageous in the stores, 2/$5 is considered an amazing deal. I had no oysters prior in my life to what happened with the ones that I tried, just to let you know. so I couldn't tell if they were fresh or not lol. All, I know is that I tried one and I decided that it was alright, but not something that I would want again. I was fine for a awhile during dinner, but then my stomach decided to do it's thing, so I was in the restroom for awhile :( Pretty much, I had Eric take me back to the rental house (we were on a weekend coast vacation with friends) to lay down and i didn't wake up until the next morning and I still wasn't 100%. This happened at the end of April and then after my birthday (May 1) Eric told me that he was going to propose to me on the beach after dinner, but got way laid because I had to go get sick from eating the stupid oyster! He did propose to me on my birthday though
