I can't diagnose without meeting or observing, but autism can be a tricky one if the most apparent signs are more subtle, bonding with others is one of the biggest ones, but I know a few very socially awkward people who don't fit in the parameters of autism

I'd say he is bonded with two people... more obsessed than bonded at times with my mom. He tries to make friends but it's really hard for him to keep them. He has ADHD, he has no off switch... it's 90 mph 24/7 with him. He is crazy smart, almost to a fault. He thinks everyone is an idiot, me and his teachers included. Which causes alot of issues. He corrects his English teacher often... mostly for her grammar. He obsesses over his interests and if he encounters something that he doesn't like he ignores it or says it's a waste of his time and mind. Being 11 you can see where this is a problem. When it comes to socializing he is incredibly awkward, he doesn't pick up on most emotional ques, he sees the other kids doing something and he does the same thing repeatedly until he drives them crazy. Only one little girl can actually handle how he is and she is the closest to what I'd call a best friend. She puts him in his place when he becomes over bearing. And he actually listens to her. As far as empathy he has none... for anyone. He could care less how others feel. The complete opposite of my other two sons who live for making other people happy. He enjoys making up his own jokes... but after telling them he seems compelled to explain them because he doesn't think anyone is "smart" enough to understand the meaning and what exactly makes it funny.
