Hey'all <3 Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and concern at such an insane time here. The decision to deny permits for drilling on treaty land by the Army Corp of Engineers was/is not a popular one so you can imagine how much harassment we've been facing but we can't stop. We are known as "a proud people" who are not known for taking a stand then walking away but it's more than that. I know that to back down would be to put the integrity of the nations heartland at risk as well as our integrity. They use chemicals to keep the sand oil flowing in the cold which is 9 months out of 12 such as cyanide. Pipelines leak. Pipelines burst. This is the mouth of the Missouri we're talking about. Its like no one thinks about what is going to happen if they continue this route. I mean, there's a reason Bismarck said no, take it somewhere else when they were informed of the original plans.

All we've asked from the beginning is go back to the first planned route instead of under our lake but they absolutly refuse. This is not going to end well, and we know it but we have to try.

I wish I could put a hold on the 25th, theres not much I can do so I guess for starters not think about it. Kyla's only 4 and knows a little about Santa, Nica, well she's the one who would notice most, and Eli, but the older two, and my new trio are old enough to understand. We have to keep watching each others backs and try to keep an eye on the drilling pad, there isn't enough of me to pull off christmas too.

Well I figure your grand babies and new babies, will one day remember the Christmas grandma fought proudly for her nation of proud people, and this will make them feel proud to be the people they are, and follow their ancestors proud history. The gift of a legacy to be proud of!!!

Please just do what you can and don't worry about anything else. Wish I could be there to show my support but it's just not possible. You are loved and missed by all.

Everything you and your people are fighting for sounds like such a stressful situation, you are such an amazingly strong person standing with your people through all this! Yesterday, I was reading through your posts and I was truly overwhelmed by the description of what is happening over on the pipeline! What you and your people are going through is truly tragic! I couldn't even imagine working retail during the Holiday season. So much to deal with everyday, so many customers and so much happening every day. I like my job working in childcare where I can choose to take a week of Vacation during the Holidays as long as I get my request in early enough & plan on having a sub. This year I put in my request towards the start of November, early enough that I could be assured time off for the busy season. I love doing a lot of baking during this season, and I enjoy taking the time off from work so I can feel well-rested.

Yes me too on the 24th...but i am alone so i sit and listen to music all night.This yr i will put up a real tree.This is the first real one in 17-18 yrs.(when i was still living on the west coast Canada)Do you hang marzipan balls on the tree?? (rolled in cocoa and a string put through it)We used to as kids..Then when the tree comes down after Christmas you can munch on them.. :) hugs Have a great Christmas however you can fit it in for the kids :) Love you.... I am praying for you and you are giving them the best gift ever. You are fighting to secure their future and your culture. Christmas is whatever. You can celebrate and have a feast when you all feel like this battle is over. Who says that we are only allowed to celebrate and spend time with our families on set dates and no other time??? You are teaching your grandchildren how much you love your people and culture and that it is something special and worth fighting for. I am sure they will remember that story for the rest of their lives, not so much the pair of socks and apple they found in their stocking christmas morning. LOL

Could someone tell me what the Melody gifts were for THursday please. I went online late last night at the start of Subeta's am and got my Melody and visited the bathohouse pools. Now when I just went to the pools it says I'm at day 1 again. THis is the second time this has happened in two weeks. Did I miss Melody as well?
edit: Just saw kristi's post. I guess I did miss it but it was after the Subetan Wednesday had ended that I got my stuff last night. I'm so confused! WHat else did I not get from Melody? This is so upsetting. Was trying so hard not to miss a day this year.

UGH, I miss having wifi so much! I havent had a signal at home for...a month and a half or so (only eason Im on now is that a neighbor is letting me use theirs), and the free wifi I started using ha ben down around 2 weeks :( And when at city hall, all I have to use is a phone, so no Subeta for me :(

But its good Im back, even for a little while!

Will give me a chance to look up more cosplay inspiration...Mostly of the MLP and TARDIS variety. The sketchbook I got a fe years ago for Christmas is FINALLY getting some use! (if I can find a way, I'll share the doodles I made of my ideas if anyone wants :d)

Thanks . Seems I did miss it. How frustrating. Don't really care about missing the melody essence so much as I have one in my vault but I'm gonna have to get me two of the anyu dolls. One for my dolly gallery and one for my wardrobe. Dagnabit! I hate that I missed a day.
