I don't have either, I usually use a piece of dog food. A few times I've caught a mouse by the tail.

Yep that is exactly what my dogs were doing. They kept seeing the mouse, and finally caught it. You imagine one mouse, 3 huge dogs after it. @ KimC Hey if it works, I didnt think of moist dog food.

I got a burst of energy and managed to make a couple phone calls, do the monthly wash-out of the litter box, and get about halfway through cleaning my fridge before I ran out of steam. Then I curled up and dozed through a movie until it was time to go out to dinner with the family for my dad's birthday.

I use dry dog food, I'm afraid.

Well if you got expired or old food out of the frig, consider frig clean enough for the moment. I need a nap, I didnt sleep good last night. I would try cream cheese if you have it.

I'm afraid I don't. Thankfully, any mice I might have had in the winter have moved outside now.

I bet they do with dogs in the house to scare them off.

Having to clean the fridge was entirely based around the fact that there was something making the whole thing stink. Got that out! Now it's mostly down to emptying out a bunch of containers but that's for another day. Today is done and it is time for bed.

Put a whole raw potato, just poke it with a fork 2-3 times. It will soak up the smell or a box of baking soda. But bad food is bad food no masking the smell.

It got to 90 degrees F today. What a blessing that It waited all the way through April to get this warm. It's not unusual for the Central Valley to have very hot weather as early as April 10.

I swam in the pond today ( no fish though....they are still very deep ) and it was wonderful. We are in for a wonderful summer.

The icebox in our kitchen scares me. I'm afraid of getting locked inside of it. I know it's irrational, but it's the truth. I don't know what's inside of it, Weldon keeps it stocked and clean. Once there was a bad smell, it was some Brussel sprouts that had freed themselves on their own recognizance and fallen to the catch pan below and decided to become science projects. It was like the Jolly Green Giant had a sudden attack of intestinal woe and farted in our house. Nobody was Jolly after that. I never knew that a piece of food could smell like road kill on crack. So I empathize with your icebox woes.

Of course, most everything in our kitchen scares me...the stove, the icebox, the sink, the turnip twaddler, and the refrigerator magnet that looks like Donald Trump, even though it's a picture of a croissant. I love our bathroom, the bathtub, the potty, ( we have an indoor potty! ) the wash basin, ( ITS NOT A SINK! ) and the bathtub. ( I like baths and ponds and water and rivers and streams and oceans and lakes. Our bathtub is like a miniature ocean to me. I could literally soak in it all day.....)

Wow. 97 This afternoon! Who wants to come to my house for Pond Time? I'm going to build a little fire down by the sandy shoreline so that we can cook some fish ( if there is any ) and Welly is going to scrub some potatoes to throw into the coals. I know that there are some roasting beets we can skewer and roast by the fire and if there is no fish, there is always game fowl and other meats that I will skewer and cook for you.

The water may be a little cold still, it is melted snow after all, but you'll soon get used to it. We can watch Orion sail off into the West this evening and look for Sagittarius to rise later in the morning while we lay out under the waxing moon and sip Poppy's Famous Wheezle Brew or some of of his rare and smokey Sierra Whiskey. There's nothing more romantic then the first sleepover of Spring under the stars. Unless of course there's a thunderstorm. ( and I saw Thunderheads forming over to the North East over Yosemite National Forest. )
