Haha T9 will sneak up on you, but then having another pet to help out with battling is great! A T9 pet can help you a bit in farming stat boosters from the Gelatin Golem or possibly Shrieks from Nightlady.

You're more than welcome :D I'm so glad the shard helps in a pinch against Cursed Effigy. I think the rate has been 1:6? Sometimes I get lucky and get a ratio of 1:5.7 or something, but I think overall it hovers around that mark (1:6).

She only said when the challenger is brought back the loot might contain some sort of surprise, but other than that, not anything certain :D. I guess the plan is still in the works, that's why we don't get any promises or further details. And welcome back! I hope you have had a great trip!

Got the trio of skips again today at 26 (crawbeast, kitty, and chase) shakes fist

I don't even notice the ones I'm not giving away because my goals for them are so far in the future it's better to not pay attention to them. I'm worried I'll get impatient and blow my stock of boosters on them or get freaked out and pound them. A couple rank ups caught me by surprise last month T_T.

I've been better about battling them since last time I had a gold account I made extra weapon set and scroll set slots. One of the reasons my low level pets didn't see much combat was because it's inconvenient to make a T2 or T3 set on the fly for every battle and I didn't have a low AP scroll set for pets with 7ish points available. I even went and made a list of weapon sets by tier to make changing them for rank ups faster. Even still, my lack of eggs is just from forgetfulness and laziness.

- I can see that shard being extremely helpful for BQs - making the difference in any close battle (especially in one where I manage to forget to reequip a Negating Pylonic :-) ).

Thank you - good information (I am assuming that the 1:6 is the rate for the Mage giving tomes). I have been saving my Mage Amulets and haven't tried his quest yet.

- how frustrating! Just remember you are still gaining lots of good EXP daily - and soon you will be able to laugh at them when they show up for BQs.

- oooh - that's sounds like a smart idea. If you make extra weapon/scroll sets when you have a gold account, do you still keep them when it runs out? If so, I will certainly have to remember to do that next time I use a GA medal! It is much easier when you have a good set already made and waiting.

I also really like the idea of making lists of weapon sets by tier. Would you be willing to share your ideas for the lower tiers? I've been wondering what I should try if I start a new battle pet (I have soooo many extra T1-T3 weapons because they seemed to pile up when we were actively trying to beat the Troll :-) It seemed wise at the time to gather the inexpensive ones before the price went crazy if they turned into a winner, and, of course, there were the pages I was responsible to test. I probably should go clear most of them out of my armory and put them back in my vault.)

The helmet is great, I would recommend saving up enough tokens to make a second helmet so you can make a mecha and keep the helmet.

You totally convinced me - and today I had the chance to trade for a Swash! Gosh, so many changes in Iskir's weapon set lately! I'll further think about finishing item hunt - it's just such a shame that you can't do the quest anymore after finishing...

Yeah, finishing Item Hunt isn't a huge priority, since the sP you can get from it is nice. I'd only do it if I could manage to finish without Chase asking for super ridiculous items. But it's not really something I want to sink millions into.

Yeah, me neither. I was actually quite lucky in this last run (all items were available and not ridiculously expensive except the last). But reading that was able to finish all quests for no more than 20 mil is like whoa…what am I even doing? Especially since item hunt is a good sp source. So, having the weapon already is going to keep me from doing stupid things ;P (Plus, I was also really lucky to own an expensive item I was able to trade - and you guys made me check the trades in the first place - thank youuuu ^^)

Well a while back, like... more than a year ago? There was this...I dunno if it was a glitch exactly, but Chase was asking for super cheap items for a couple of weeks. A ton of people finished it then, and that's what caused the price drop. Swashes used to be a couple hundred mil+. At least a few people completed it and then used the tome thingy to reset it and beat it again. So after that, they made it so the tome thingy doesn't work anymore and anyone who's completed it is locked out forever now.

Oh, is that why they changed it? I guess that makes sense. If only I had been paying attention when that happened, I might have finished it. ;~;

Now he seems to ask for way too many cash shop items after level 90.

I think the consensus is to play Item Hunt but not bother to win. So guess I'll have to start doing that again soon.

- I guess it depends on how important the achievement and/or the title are to you since we seem to have pretty much decided the weapon isn't worth it and you can get the challenger more easily by losing. :-)

- oh that makes sense. Sounds like the tome was never intended to reset backwards then. Before the tome were you able to finish the game and then start over again from the beginning? I never got close to the end so I can't remember the details.

Yeah, you keep any additional weapon/scroll set slots you create once your GA runs out. For low level sets I don't even try for best in tier items because I'm not really concerned about pushing opponents for wins. So I use the Replica Minotaur Knocker, Phoenix Quill, an additional level appropriate healer that I already have (like Shinwas Healing Wine or Ghost Gems), some bombs, another attacker or two, and an Icy Freezewand at tier 3. I use cheap mods in my weapons too- usually a Blessing of Natural Armor or, if I'm feeling frisky, an attack baguette.

I do almost everything with the same set (because lazy), but for opponents where I need special blocks or have special conditions and I'm fighting up to 10 wins I'll redo my lowest set with one just for that fight. It helps me not forget what I'm using between attempts.

The real winner, to me at least, is extra scroll sets. You can't edit them on the fly in the challenger menu like you can weapons, and if you have a pet with decent AP they're powerful in low tiers.

The tome would set you to level 50, no matter your current progress. So I guess it was more of an oversight than anything. It used to be so hard to complete that it wasn't really a big deal.
