My great great grandmother on my mothers side came to the US during the potato famine. My grandmother and great grandmother both married Irish/First generation Irish American men. My father's side is 100% French Canadian (Quebec).

Ooh, interesting. I do a bit of family history, but I think my lot are a quite dull, we're mainly just from different bits of England!

Last Summer I went to a family reunion for my Dad's side. My great grandfather on my Pepere's side was the oldest of 14 kids and his descendants made up more than 1/2 of the people there. My earliest relative on that side came from France to defend the main Fort in Quebec and his wife was part of a group of women sent over by the king with dowry's to marry the soldiers.

ETA: One of these days I'm going to shell out the cash to be a paid Ancestry.com member. I think for a 6 month subscription to have access to overseas records is like $250. A lot but so tempting sometimes.

I really should work on throwing more snowballs and at least try to get a couple more tiers in this year. I just keep forgetting about it, and it's so time consuming to buy a bunch of them and then throw them all. ;~;

Yeah, it's a bit of a slog to do the buying and the throwing. Maybe as a 'winter week special' they could have a bulk buy option, just for, say, 7 days. Throwing the same kind, at least we can just refresh. (for repeat victi- volunteers!)

Once I have a crafting room and extra time, I plan to try and make more quilts. I like vintage patterns more than modern ones. I think I just like the simplicity of them, even though the patterns can be quite intricate to put together.

I think the germs are on the way out, however temps have been below freezing here in the mornings and up to a mild cool spring-like temp in the afternoon. There are still sick kids at school, so I've been touching very few surfaces, as the janitors don't clean everything every night.

I'll save my vials for next year then, and I'll try to remember to use them. I'll have to check if I have extras of any of the vials. If I do I might try using one after Love Bug has finished and see if anything happens.

I think I had Love Bug when it was originally released, but I can only remember a few of the strains that I know I for sure had. I also remember there were a few years where I didn't get infected and I always felt a little bitter.

It would be nice, but there are some strains that just aren't visually appealing to me. It's nice that we can now pick which strain we want to be infected with and have the chance to acquire three strains each year, but its going to be hard to catch up when they release four new strains. It would be so nice to have another plot with Survival. I'm sure Ecks wasn't too please with the outcome of the plot from a few years ago. She has to be planning something. Can she even be found anywhere in the Underground, or was she essentially created for the plot?

That should be a lot of fun. I think it's true there are a lot of good ideas to be found in vintage patterns - my old knitting magazine collection has some unwearable stuff but some that looks good even today.

Hooray for the germ avoidance! Luckily no one here seems to have got my niece's cold, so we might be OK here too. Keep on with the hand wipes, maybe for the school period?

Yeah, I checked and have one of each type of the Vials, so I am good for self infection at some point. Hoarding paid off!
Love Bug is definitely a nice one to have. It's so much better with the new infection system, but it's true, if the event is so short, we can't play catch up with the old viruses. And as someone with hoarding tendencies: gotta catch 'em all. Erm... xD (Yes, even the icky ones)

I think the last outcome was a truce with Ecks? It was my first year and I was a bit overwhelmed by plot!

If Ecks no longer fits with the current Zombie culture, maybe she'll shift allegiance and get into the Darkside (trickstering at Morostide?) or set up her own rival Zombie area, featuring her hand picked Z Coalition members - a shop selling Coalition literature, wearables (in the style of Ecks and her helpers).

Or we could go back-story: Ecks is reported missing from the Coalition base next Survival and all us Zombie types have to go out on a mission to track her down, by first discovering who she is/was and her story!

Oooo , how many birthdays do you guys have? :o We just have 2 this month so it's not that bad, thankfully. In fact, we seem to be pretty spread out throughout the year. It'd almost be nice to get to just knock them out at once but I can see how much of a hassle that is too. It's also weird to turn around all the time and have another birthday coming up, lol. My niece has her birthday this month and my husband too, but we're separated so I guess really just the 1. Next month is the kiddo though! :D

Had an idea for a HA that I needed to get out of the way before I buckle down and think of what I want to wear for Masq... though I may tinker with this one a bit more and set the scene. LONG day at work (almost 11 hours), and it's later than I wanted to go to bed tonight. I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday. The weekend is so close (just hoping I don't have to go into work Saturday).
