I never even thought animating official pet images would be a thing, but it makes sense for this pet... I wouldn't think every pet would need to be revamped into animated though, that would be really time consuming (especially when this first animated pet is like 2 frames).

Did the monthly collection hint to this? It seemed like it had a lot more animated items images than usual :)

It's cute, but I don't really see why it needs to be animated. It looks just as cute without it.

I'm sure that 99% of pets don't need to be animated, but this IS super cool :D

It makes sense to have this one be animated because of what it is but yeah, we don't really need a whole lot of other pets to be animated now because of this.

I like the design of it though, and it already has a perfect minion to go with it.

I'm not up for having all pets be animated, still cool though.

I never had a tamagotchi as a kid. I remember wanting one when I was 12 or so, but parents wouldn't buy one, so I just played with my other friends' tamagotchis.

But, here, here I can have one of my very own, maybe. I already have a nostalgic pet and probably won't be getting another in the near future anyway.

lies, I'm already adding a blinking animation to all official overlays, with lashes (the more masculine the critter, the longer the lashes). It will be mandatory to use them, too.

I loved tamagotchis when they first came out, everyone was obsessed with them. This pet just makes me so excited, and I'm really glad I have one.

I'm glad there seems to be more people against the 'animate ALL the pets!' idea because I'm cringing just thinking about the site trying to support that, haha!

I posted my thoughts about this pet on the news, but figured I may as well post it here.

So, as a keeto collector that has been waiting for the nostalgic for a while now. However, I'm not sure what to think of this pet. It could honestly be any species/pet, its so ambiguous it doesn't even look like a pet - let alone a keeto. The pet itself (the pixel) is so small it gets lost and dwarfed by the handheld around it. I've always been iffy on nostalgic since most don't seem to fit the theme of the site - but this one I find really doesnt fit.

Now I'm torn between completing the collection in full or not.

TL;DR: Cool concept, but I dont really care for it. It's not a keeto.

How exactly do I make one? I bought the Essence of Melody, the Nostalgic Keeto Instructions, and made a new Keeto, but all I get is the item. It's happened twice now. Can anyone help?

I know what you are saying but the handheld itself is a keeto and I think that is recognizable. I think if it were just round like the minion with no markings to indicate the species, then there might be a problem but all I can see is keeto with the design.

You have to take the item with an and have your pet as your default pet. If you cannot afford the essence, you get one as an achievement prize for going to Melody's cottage everyday from the 1st to the 25th.

After you make the toy, you have to take the toy and the Essence of Melody back to Vanya (and if you're transforming a pet, make sure it's your active)
