I'd like to second The Bright Sessions mentioned, the voice actors are amazing and the writing is also very good, idk how to put it but I guess every time you think that's it and it's about to veer into the usual cliche, it somehow manages to sidestep that expectation?
Otherwise I'm p much into fact/true crime, I'm a big fan of Casefile, Generation Why, Thinking Sideways...etc etc, but these can be a little bit much if you are not actually a murderino true crime buff?
Futility Closet is imo seriously underrated, it deals mostly with weird/amusing historical trivia. Criminal is similarly short and sweet but has a bit more of a serious slant.
Welcome to Night Vale is literally the only podcast I've ever listened to, but I loved it.
My uncle recommended Hardcore History, though, and I might try The Adventure Zone, if I ever decide I need entertainment for the next three years of mindless enough tasks to listen to podcasts to.
got me to listen to The Bright Sessions and I haven't regretted a single moment, what a good good podcast ❤️ Other really good ones I really enjoy are
EOS 10 - a sci-fi fictional story that follows a group of doctors in outer space.
The Adventure Zone - I'm counting on it that this one has been mentioned before, since it's rly popular. A dnd campaign in podcast form.
Myths and Legends - a podcast about, well, myths and legends
Liberty: Critical Research - another fictional podcast, about a research group who go adventuring
My Brother, my brother and me - always fun
Welcome to Night Vale - another one that likely doesn't require any explaining
i used to listen to Mugglenet's podcast like religiously...but now my top is My Favorite Murder...it's dark...but they chipper voices of the hosts makes it quite enjoyable.

The Last Podcast on the Left! It's a true crime podcast. It's awesome!
I too love WTNV, but so does everyone in the whole world. I also listen to a lot of their side podcasts, like Alice Isn't Dead.
I really like Hello From the Magic Tavern, which is about a dude who falls through a portal into a magical world, finds a tavern, and interviews all the weird magical critters in the tavern. It's pretty much all improv, and it's great.
Other than that, I listen to a lot of politics, current events, social issues type stuff.
And I especially love The Bugle- it's news/current events comedy. Jon Oliver used to be a co-host, but now the remaining co-host (Andy Zaltzman) has on rotating guest co-hosts and I honestly like that better now that Jon Oliver has his own HBO show. News comedy is my favorite kind of comedy.
It's interesting how many people here like narrative-based podcasts!
Do you listen to the NPR Politics podcast? (Also, def gonna check out Hello From the Magic Tavern.)
I really like these: Material — A podcast about all things Google. It's interesting if you like tech. The Cyber Wire — All news about cybersecurity. It's FASCINATING. Listen to it. Sprint UX — About user experience design. Hosted by some people from where I live. Ear Biscuits — Rhett and Link's podcast. Just good ole' conversations The G Club — Game Grumps going deep on video games. The WAN Show — Linus Tech Tips in podcast form. Great tech news. Sleep With Me — This one is interesting. It's literally a podcast designed to put you to sleep.
aaaand I listen to more... haha
I really like Dear Hank and John and Holy F***ing Science. I also liked the Rookie Podcast for something less comedic, but I think they maybe aren't doing it anymore? I hadn't seen a new episode in a while, but I've also not been listening as much as I used to. (My phone is quickly dying D:) I also listen to The Official Podcast sometimes, that's for if you want something really really uhh... inappropriate hahahaha
I'm sure they've been said to death, but anything involving the McElroy brothers or coming out of Night Vale Presents is solid gold. I'm also working my way through Drunks & Dragons, and now that Critical Role is being released for iTunes, I've started downloading it so I can listen to it on the bus and while I'm lying in bed rather than having to sit down and watch it (though the visual content is Good too).
My newest obsession is The Moth Podcast which is based on The Moth Radio Hour. The Moth is on Spotify if anyone is interested. I'm also working my way through both of the books published by the Moth because the stories are so good, although I do prefer hearing them in the tellers' own voices.
i just started listening to brute force, after they had an ad on the adventure zone it's SO GOOD
i also love wolf 359 and the bright sessions
I love listening to podcasts! Here are some of my favourites:
Story-based: Welcome to Nightvale
Politics/current events: Politico's Nerdcast, Vox's The Weeds, Worldly, FiveThirtyEight Politics, NPR Politics, NPR Politics, Pod Save America, Pod Save the World, The President's Inbox (or anything by the Council on Foreign Relations)
History: Stuff You Missed in History Class, Revolutions, The History of WWII Podcast by Ray Harris Jr, The China History Podcast, The History of Rome, Emperors of Rome
True crime: My Favourite Murder, Criminal, Sword and Scale
Misc: Stuff You Should Know
❄️ Seeking Elsa or Olaf inspired CWs ❄️
If you like role-playing and Dungeons & Dragons definitely check out Cthulu and Friends as well as Drunks and Dragons. Harmontown is great too.
I love true crime as well so definitely My Favorite Murder, Last Podcast on the Left, & Serial.
Misc: How Did This Get Made - podcast where they choose a really bad movie to discuss Off Book - An AMAZING fully improvised musical with comedic guests.
I like browsing through mystery/serial killer podcasts.
I only regularly listen to EarBiscuits and Welcome to Nightvale.
❤️❤️❤️

I'm a really big fan of Rooster teeth, so their official podcast, and then the Off Topic Achievement hunter podcast as well. I spend hours at work, listening to them.

Are most of these podcasts available on Spotify?
My Brother, My Brother and Me is my favorite podcast. Most of the McElroy podcasts I love. I like WTNV as well. I'm kind of getting into h3h3production's podcast. It's like my problematic guilty pleasure.

Nightvale, also - I don't think there will be any more episodes, but from the makers of Nightvale - The Orbiting Human Circus of the Air. I was actually kindof sad when I finished the last episode of Circus, although I think there are quite a few "bonus" episodes that I haven't gone back to listen to.
Lurking this board for some recommendations c:
Oh boy I got into podcasts like a year ago thanks to those dang McElroys, so of course I love My Brother My Brother and Me and The Adventure Zone. I also like Sawbones (Justin and his wife Dr Sydnee McElroy discuss medical history) and Trends Like These (Travis' news podcast with Brent Black)
I also really got into My Favorite Murder lately, it' a great combo of dark topics and fun hosts. One I really like that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Oh No Ross and Carrie, where the duo investigates fringe science/paranormal/spiritual things and reports back, including a 10 part investigation on Scientology. It's fascinating and funny!
I just finished The Leviathan Chronicles. It was fantastic, but it does leave off in the middle of a storyline. The creator's wife was diagnosed with cancer and subsequently passed away. The team is planning on putting out the rest of the episodes and resuming production later this year.
We're Alive is another fantastic podcast if you are into zombie apocalypse plots. It has some twists to it, so it's not your typical canned fight-the-zombies storyline.
