I'm super tired atm so I can't offer much help unfortunately, but I do want to let you know that... sadly sometimes when you have cartoon or anime inspired wigs, it takes a lot of manipulation of the original essence of them to get them on site.
An example I have of this is a Komaeda wig I've done. Here is what the actual character looks like; LINK And here is what the onsite item looks like;
Subeta in the recent years has drastically moved away from the 'cartoon' or 'anime' style of artwork, in favor of more realistic or detailed styles. That is what you'll need to accomplish for this wig. I would really take a look at how that hair would look on a real person (perhaps cosplayers?) and working from there to get the shape of the bangs. It's possibly to keep the wild look to them, while also making them look more realistic n_n and I think that references of RL hairstyles will be key in helping you.

What do you need help with --- I've already re-shaded the CI (reason for denial below)! I just want to know if I've addressed the issue or not...I'm always pretty lost in regards to pillow shading.
Was there a denial --- • ITEM: Artwork does not match Subeta style, quality, or level of detail in general • ITEM: Pillow shading • ITEM: Blotchy shading
Optional Can we take a look at the PSD files --- Yep, just let me know if you need to see them! Can we redline --- Of course!
Thank you! ❤️

one thing i can notice about the ci is that the shading seems to have the same hues; what i often do is try not to use the same colors as shadows, because that gives the item a flat-sort of aspect :)
the lineart also looks a bit inconsistent on some areas even if that wasn't brought up c:
i'd personally try to give it a bit more of depth as well as some texture;; pillow shading often occurs when you just make this
i edited your current version a bit, so here's the psd :)
i don't usually shade the same way you do; but if i were to do so, i'd use purple hues for shading! and for the highlights i'd use yellow c:
ps. i love this cw ; v ;
ver. "3.0" xD
I've attempted the (what I dub) the blob shading style before, but when I do it, I always feel like I make it look super weird, but when other people do it, I'm like "THAT MAKES SENSE." x.x
I've also cleaned up the lineart points you mentioned!
❤️ design shop ❤️ release thread ❤️ ping group ❤️ foodgram ❤️
i believe thats much better ; v ; just be careful not to add too much contrast cuz otherwise it gives a "burnt" feeling (mainly on the leaves) :D
Thank youuu~

What do you need help with --- I need a critique on what to improve. I've been staring at it for hours and my brain just says no. Like I feel like there's not enough contrast maybe or it just doesn't look right.
(also i can link you to a larger version of it if needed)
Was there a denial --- none yet
Optional Can we take a look at the PSD files --- sure i can link if needed Can we redline --- yes pls

hi! Im not really good with anatomy so I'll let someone else do that part haha
As for the general cw guidelines, the legs seem a bit soft looking. Don't take this GIF too seriously as Im not sure of the perspective/angle of the tail itself. But it gives you an idea of how to blend in semi-cell shading + soft shading n_n [small]the only anatomy thing i can personally see is that it could use some shadows under the knees to give more depth, as the leg is slightly bent![/small]
Adding backlight is also a great way to give better contrast between elements, especially when everything is rather dark!
I'd tend to say that you could add more highlights (in the same vein as you did for the scales on the thighs)!

omg hi (i love your cws btw)
i kinda get what you're saying and tried to play around with shading shapes

i think that looks slightly better, or did i go to far? ( ps sorry if im bugging you guys )

What do you need help with --- denied wearable, how do I fix it..
Was there a denial --- (paste denial here if any) ''Your custom clothing Cute Wig of the Dead was denied for the following reason(s): • OVERLAY: Anatomy or perspective issues • NOTE: The way this wig is set on the head makes the head look VERY flat! It really pulls off to our right, and just doesn't quite follow the shape of the avatar head correctly''
Optional Can we take a look at the PSD files --- yes/no Can we redline --- yes/no sure for both I'm just not sure where I could 'post' the psd files lol.
-for simplicity's sake I made a reverse img:

I want the wig to look like this, to be more 'bouncy' then 'still' but I am open to opinions since it did get denied) But if I truly want the wig to look like this is it ok to be not accepted?
Hey there! I honestly don't think you'd have to make much of a change to this - right now the pigtails just look like they're floating away from the head a bit, and the shape of the wig needs just a little tweaking.

I understand your desire to make them bouncy, but we still have to pretend that gravity is in play. :P I made a simple edit to cut the pigtails and move them in closer to the HA's head to try and show what I mean and what I think you could do to get the wig accepted. Now, instead of floating away, the pigtails look more like bouncy curls that aren't hanging perfectly straight.
Secondly, I think you should emphasize the part to be very curved down the center of the head, right now it's flattish and I think that may be why she says the wig looks "flat". Also, take the curve of the head into account for the perspective of the wig on our left side - you'll notice I've shown in pink that the bun part of the pigtail should be lower, a bit more hidden by the head, and the bulging shape of the hair as it gets swept into the pigtail should be less detailed, and more flat. You wouldn't be able to see that level of detail on the far side of the head, it would be hidden by the head itself.
I hope this all make sense! Hopefully just a few lineart tweaks will get this accepted. :) Good luck!

What do you need help with --- Not sure if what I've changed/adjusted will be sufficient or addresses the issue it was denied for.
Was there a denial --- • ITEM: Thin or weak lineart • NOTE: Thank you for resubmitting this on the correct layer, and I'm sorry this was not mentioned in the initial denial! But the lineart on the item is VERY thin - it almost looks like pixel art. It isn't quite Subeta quality at this time.
Optional Can we take a look at the PSD files --- Yes if necessary! Can we redline --- Of course!
In "version 2" I've thickened a several areas of lineart that I believe could be called "thin" (particularly on the outside lines).
Thank you!

I think the problem you've having is actually a saving quality problem because of the size you draw your files at! But never fear because the fix is really simple, albeit a smidge confusing so please ask questions if it doesn't make sense!
Always make sure to merge your layers before you resize. If you are worried about accidentally saving over your PSD then save a second file before doing this step to keep yourself safe n_n
After merging, resize first to twice the size of the final size. So in this case your file is 250x250 and you're going to first resize it to 128x128.
Then resize to final size of 64x64.
(Merge> 250x250 > 128x128 > 64x64)
The reason you do this is because 250 does not divide equally with 64. There can be some dithering issues when changing files that aren't equally divisible, so by changing it to the double size first (128) you get less quality loss in the end!
Again, please ask questions if you need to! I'll do my best to answer them n_n
Hope you're doing alright with setting up the new computer!
updated
outer lineart thickened
resized in 2 steps (250 > 128 > 64) with layers merged prior to resize

Man it's been beyond frustrating getting everything set up lmaoo cries inside
think that looks much better! You may be able to thin just slightly on the blanket's line on the bottom right side, as it looks pretty heavy in the resize. The other thing I would suggest is using darker colors on the inner lines of the blanket, because they're about the same shade as the darkest pink in the blanket which makes them vanish or look gray in the resize!!
Thank youuu~~
I'll darken the inner lines and adjust the line thickness in the area you've indicated before delivering the final product!
At least the new computer will work nicely with your tablet?? fingers crossed

What do you need help with --- Shading. I've tried several tutorials but tbh shading is one of my weaknesses so no matter how many times I've tried I still think there's something off about my shading :(. I feel the sweater is rather stiff and flat at this point, especially at the HA size. I'd really appreciate any help to help me improve the overall look of the overlay.
Was there a denial --- no, not submitted yet
Optional Can we take a look at the PSD files --- yes, I'll gladly share upon request :D Can we redline --- yes
Thank you very much!
The things I am seeing that may need some tweaking are;
Line art. A lot of the lines are very thin which gives them a 'colored' appearance and they don't look black. I would also suggest thickening the lines around the hand and the cuffs of the sleeves especially so they don't get lost in the rest of the item, especially in darker recolors!
The shading color. It looks like you're shading with a black or gray color, and so these are really losing their potential vibrancy for sure. I think changing the shading color and possibly using higher contrasting colors will also help (although not too much more contrasting I don't think)
Highlights. I can't see many highlights if any at all, so you may want to add some so it has the 3-5 layers of shading required! Highlights on clothes can be pretty low opacity too so they're not super overpowering, but they should still be there n_n
Overall this looks really great though and you're def on the right track C: C: Depending on what colors you release I'mma have to keep an eye out because this is cute af.
Thank you very much for your insights :D. I went and changed all the shading, added some texture and thickened the lineart. Can I please have your critique on the modified version? I've included a couple of samples under the spoiler tag. Your help and feedback is much appreciated :)
