I think understand what means. Wanting to preserve the copy without it actually being live/on site. I suppose for items with small batch limits it would be nice to have the number of copies available still. However i think this would lead to the releaser profiting more than should be possible with batch limits so i don't think staff would be open to the idea and items without batch limits wouldn't be affected. I like the idea of a list of items copy numbers available though.
Another thing is private items.. I personally am very selective when it comes to slotting on privates because i don't want to sell back later and i also want to respect the releasers wishes. This could be a factor in batches not filling as much too. Id be more likely to slot if i knew a releaser wouldn't be stuck with excess copies
Sorry if these have been mentioned alreadt. On my phone and can't check and type x.c

In the beginning, the pawn shop was great, now, not so much. It is used as a dump pretty much. I find it hurtful in a way when I see an item I just released in the pawn shop the next day. I am like, really?!?! An older release, not so much.
I started cw's three years ago. I never had this much trouble filling slots like I used to. I am having a heck of a time filling one batch on some items. I know a lot of people are loving the 1-2 batch at the most items. But when that happens, the person releasing the cw really does not make much profit to be able to get more cw's made or released. (that is the way I see it)
Plus the prices of some of the items when submitting is crazy. A tattoo should not cost 4K csc to submit. There should be some other things moved around too.
Now with artists...yes we need some new blood. I like seeing how different artist interrupt's the design I would like done. I understand it being overwhelming, intimidating and scary. Plus with the drama, I don't blame people for staying away.
I really have nothing to add for suggestions, but something does need to be done about the pawn shop and I do like the idea of being able to sell items in a shop instead of on the r200 boards.
I love that has instigated this discussion. I don't have much to add on how to fix the economy, but I LOVE that everyone is putting their heads together to brainstorm ideas. The CW community (creators, shop owners, buyers) has always been my biggest draw on Subeta -- actually, I think I joined specifically because I wanted to get in on the cool custom wearables!
As an artist, though, I have basically given up drawing CWs save for a few random ones here and there for friends, because it's a such a huge time sink for me that I can rarely hope to get a truly decent professional rate in return for my work. And of course, the higher the rate I charge, the harder it is for my commissioner to turn a profit which isn't fair, either, even if I SHOULD be charging more for my time. Like some people have brought up, when the community was more active and exciting, it was worth trading a lower pay rate for the time spent because omg!! buying stuff!!! (ie. it was a hobby I was paying for). Now, it's difficult to snag a slot on things because so many people have to restrict themselves to 1 or 2 batches at most, and I always seem to miss them! :P
On that note, I have to wonder if the restrictiveness of getting the CWs you want may have contributed to the downfall of the market? I know a lot of people prefer to release most if not all of their CWs as privates, and I have read so so much over the last couple of years about people being salty about that. I personally see it as no one's business but the releasers' whether or not their CWs are released privately, but I do think it is a contributing restriction (like the smaller batch sizes) to the CW market that may turn off some buyers, especially those that aren't normally active in the CW community. I remember reading someone talking about how they loved the Pawn Shop simply because it made CWs accessible in a way that the normal CW shops and r200 threads did not. They didn't have to deal with the rules and users that can sometimes feel very cliquish.
I would be hesitant to get rid of the pawn shop for that reason, but I do love the idea of being able to search for and purchase CWs with CSC from regular user shops!!! I hate scanning through r200 threads, hahaha. It would be INCREDIBLE to be able to search for a CW I want! :P I also wonder if putting an expiration date on CWs in the pawn shop would be wise -- it is pretty sad to see the same old CWs sitting in there and rotting for eternity. Say 1 month after it reaches its lowest price or something?
I'm very curious to keep an eye on this thread and see all the new ideas! o^o
what you said about the price of CSC. Yes so much!!!!!! It is INSANE!! I seen back in the day a user paying what like 10 mil for a 500 csc card??? Now its only for 100 -.-
Great point!! Something needs to work on that being brung back down. Its hard for users who cant spend RL money to save enough sp to get enough cards to buy just ONE thing!

I haven't read through a ton but I really like the idea of being able to price your cws in a shop, that's brilliant. I hate the pawn shop and while I get that people get desperate for csc in general, I'd also rather just see the items deleted for as clogged and worthless as they become.
Maybe staff could try and combat the CSC hike? I often buy sP from a friend here and there at a more reasonable rate and I think this could really help. Whether its staff releasing discounted csc to be bought with sP or some reliable method. Even if it means a limit per user per week/month/whatever, it would generate more people questing/be an sP sink, and that csc goes back to the site anyways??? IDK. More thought is needed on this LOL
I tend to stay away from private releases as much as possible. Why if we exclude the drama? The no sell/buy/trade policies. I have NOTHING against them, but if you want to have these make sure to be able to buy back. Which is why I'd like to have a shop where it goes back to the seller. Is it good tho? I don't know.
this is unrelated but I just wanted to say that I really like your work with custom wearables. I understand that they take a lot of time and it's hard to get an appropriate price for them, but given the chance I'd commission you in a heartbeat. ^.~
I have nothing against private releases (on the contrary, it actually saves me money since I only slot if it's something I'm sure I want). As a releaser I'd like to have the option to delete my own extra copies-- private, public, limited, etc.
I'd also like to see an option for selling cws for csc in shops.
I've seen a lot of good ideas and points, I'll try to think things over again and see if I can add anymore options or ideas into the melting pot~

I really love the idea of items getting deleted after being in pawn for so long. I know that every so often the staff does stuff like this, but things just sit in there for far too long. At the same time, I feel like the staff would need to do something about the sP/CSC ratio before they could do anything with pawn. A lot of people count on pawn in order to be able to get things they missed and sometimes need to save up in order to be able to get them. I think it would really only be fair to people if the ratio were fixed and they were given the chance to get items I'm sure they've been wanting.
I'm kind of torn with how I feel about pawning. While I HATE seeing my releases in there, I also like that it gives people who otherwise wouldn't have been able to get the item at full price a chance at it. I'm sure there's something that could be done to fix the whole situation, though. sP/CSC ratio's seems to be the root of quite a few problems though. If that could be fixed, it'd probably have a really positive change on the CW market.
~ CW Group ✰ CW Releasing Thread ✰ My CS ✰ CW Wishes ~The price of CSC is sooo high, for sure! I wish staff would address it, because I agree that it's probably the biggest turn off for people as far as buying cws goes. I know a lot of people buy CSC with $$, but I'm sure lots rely on being about to purchase with sP from shops. Unfortunately, it's to the site's advantage to keep sp prices high -- it encourages more people to spend real $$ when they're frustrated about not having 50k+ to sink on one CW.
Awww, thank you!! I hope one day I can find the time to devote to CWs again...time is just precious at the moment and for some reason, I spent 2x longer on a CW than I do on a fully-rendered art piece, lmao.
^^^^ The king of one batch releases LOL
That sounds absolutely crazy x.x It's no wonder you don't really take commissions. I see Sonatine and Cathii do cws in what seems like the blink of an eye but I'm sure that's due to them drawing so many.
Which reminds me used to seem very intimidating to me but then I got to know her better and realized she poops like everybody else. ;P (love you tata)
I still find kinda intimidating but I don't know her very well, either. n_n
I think it's probably because they and other artists seem like pros and have such a grasp on what they do while we newbies are here bumbling around trying to find our way 8D

OHHHH NOW I GET IT!!!!! I like the idea very much. Above all, I love the idea of the batch numbers being public and everything, and how many copies are floating around etc. Very smart!
u fart. look at mi face. i ain't intimidating.
this thread is gonna be rly hard to keep up with LOL
pinches your cheeks (no pun intended)
I think you are right. You're gonna wake up tomorrow and have to read 7 new pages :k

Yeah, I think you're right. I don't really know how to address people pawning CWs just to make a quick buck, other than makig CSC easier to obtain in other ways. To a lot of us the CWs we release are precious, and it is so disheartening to see them the pawn shop...but other than blacklisting users that frequently buy and then pawn (which I guess it pretty much impossible to know), I don't think there's any way to cut down on this aspect of the CW market.
Hahahaha, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I definitely haven't refined my process over the years enough to be able to churn them out like the CW superstars. I am so impressed by the artists that can!
*high fives fellow one batch releaser xD *
I am so embarrassed at all my previous misspellings. Ive been awake since 3 AM LOL!!!
Also I do like the idea of putting an expiration on items in the Pawn would help de-clutter it a lot and help some items gain a bit of their value back as well?
I like the fact that people who cant afford cws full price can go in there and shop n-n But SOME KIND OF RULE/RULES need to go in there man. It needs some serious love!!
Now I know they have more cw hungry peeps out there. I have pawned a few things in my cw life and went back and look a few days later only to see most of them bought!! (Despite being on the r200 foreva) I know so many people are intimated by either us or the process of cws (Or both) ! I have to agree with some in here who was so intimidated by others just because of their art/releases/Coolness :p ;) But ended up being the nicest people ever like and so forth (Way too many to list for me. SO many nice people here man. LOVE THIS COMMUNITY! <3
I think there is some kind of block going on dude. Making people too nervous to come around us. Or some people taking advantage of newcomers on the boards :k :k (Its happened to me I got like super jacked on a few items. (I was unaware of prices back then)
I really hope we can reach out and gain more peoples trust/love/welcomeness? (Not a word but im tired and delusional af)
So many good ideas man I cant keep up!
also shout out to you for helping me out with cws in the beginning ;) Then I had to reteach everything LMAO!!!! Ah the circle of the cw life.

Thank you for pinging me here
I have been thinking about this for sometime now. I know I don't release tons of items but I do some.
You are so right in saying *As a commissioner and a buyer, I believe the CW Pawn Shop has also added to the slowly dying CW market. I have a hard time understanding why someone would buy a newly released item on Monday then turn around and pawn it on Monday night or Tuesday morning. They receive way less than had they made an effort to sell it to another user. First of all this causes the CSC to go back to the site, who, in effect, is absurdly collecting on the same item twice.
Additional issues created by the CW pawn shop are the mindset of "why should I pay 700CSC to slot on your batch when the item will soon be in the pawn shop for 500 or 600?"*
My thoughts and feelings exactly. I stay out because I don't want to see my hard earned $$ flushing down the toilet :D
This is such an important subject and very relative right now. CW interest is waning whether anyone else believes it or not. Every time I have to spend money to buy a design I am happy to do it because I think the artists deserve it but spending $50 every time I want to release a new color or whatever makes me think twice about doing it.
I love CWs!!! I can't help it but I have cut way back on my buying because of IRL just like everyone else...
Thank you for this topic!! have you seen this yet?
There is a subeta gossip forum???? Oh, my!

They certainly make it look easier than it is. It probably takes me the same amount of time to draw a substandard stick figure. xDD
xDD You silly. I don't remember helping all that much but you're welcome regardless. You know you can poke me anytime you need something.
Get some rest woman. xDD You're running on fumes.. magical Disney fumes.

Pfft, I wouldn't say king, but it does happen fairly often doesn't it? x'D
Yeah, I'm not too certain either. At the moment, there aren't really many options until the staff can step in and do something. It's almost impossible to tell who it is either, though. And sometimes, without those people, those items might not fill. So while it can be annoying, them slotting is important at the same time. Wow, looking at it now, the whole situation is really just a huge mess.
WHOOOO //high fives. You should seriously try and get some sleep though. <3
~ CW Group ✰ CW Releasing Thread ✰ My CS ✰ CW Wishes ~Non CW related but I would if my bf wouldnt be making me stay up till 8:15 to watch the Jungle book under the stars ;;
Help LOL.

tell him you'll be his jungle girl if he lets you have a nap to recharge. xDD
I'm more surprised when your batches aren't single batches. xD so much pawn hate

Tell him you need your beauty sleep and that you can watch it another time. xD Just like the jungle is calling his name, your bed is calling yours.
