i know! always amazes me! there's a higher risk than with most animals because they are so small, so they need to work super fast. and they have to put the stitches sort of internally, because you cant fit a gerbil for a tiny neck cone or tummy bandage :P

nods I think they're great myself, both the stitches and the vets. As they say, it's not easy to diagnose a patient who can't tell you where it hurts.

yeah, i have a lot of respect for vets. the ones at our practise are great. sometimes they get temporary vets in, and they can be a bit hit or miss, mostly because they don't know how to handle gerbils, and i have to do it for them, and sometimes they freak out because they don't know how to convert the med amounts for such a small animal, or what issues effect them. but usually it's totally fine. ^^

I can only imagine. I'm totally a dog person myself. I have three at the moment.

Crockett, my sweet old man, is supposedly half dachshund half rat terrier. Charisma looks very much like a purebred Cairn terrier. And Cordelia was my mystery mutt, so for the fun of it I had her DNA tested. According to them, she's 37.5 Shih Tzu, 37.5 Chihuahua (both types), 12.5 Japanese Chin and 12.5 mixed breed. I find that highly strange, since I'm not sure there are any Japanese Chins in this town, let alone one that would be allowed to breed with a Shih Tzu. I always assumed she was a terrier/Chihuahua mix, with maybe some poodle thrown in.

aw nice combination of doggies :3 our last 3 dogs were all cairn's ^^ i want to get our current dog DNA tested for fun, to see what he is, because we have no idea. there's definitely some collie in there, but the rest is a mystery. maybe some german shepherd because of his colouring, but i don't know :P

Haha, I don't think we're that talented! I just think languages are fun. :O But yeah, my Swiss family often has assumed I know more than I do. After just a few months of German, my mother-in-law would say things in German (and Swiss German, more often than not). I would say I didn't understand, and she would laugh and say, "Of course you did". NOT helpful! :O

I do sometimes wonder about that Amy spelling business. I'm pretty sure "Amy" IS the most common spelling of the name, and yet more often than not, people aim for the "Aimee" spelling. Or at least they seemed to when I was in the States. And I got "Ami" fairly often in France, because of course, that's what it comes from.

Ew about the hair in your food. That's super nasty. My husband is on a rugby team, and they always visit the same bar/pub/restaurant (because it is one of their financial supporters), and the place just got several thousand dollars in fines from a failed health inspection. Blech...

Exactly! On a person, that would be tiny, but on a little guy like that... Glad your pet is doing well, though!

Sometimes when they sneak up behind you XD but otherwise you can do creative mode and build stuff you want, my husband and I built a castle!

Wow, it's getting quiet in here! How is everyone? What are you guys up to this week?

I'm busy working on that book I'm translating... Oh, and our school is getting a new ESL book series, which is exciting. (The old one is TERRIBLE). Let's see... We have a fancy new bedroom light that we can turn on and off with our smart phones, and change the colors...

And on the blechy side, tomorrow is laundry day. We only get one every two weeks, the laundry room is in the basement, there is no elevator, and we're about a million floors up... :O

you have motivated me to go back to duolingo to start back up on learning Norwegian! I was doing really well at it but then I just kinda forgot about it XD! thankfully I still remember most of it :D!

sorry for being quiet XD! I took an allergic reaction to coffee (I know im allergic to coffee, but if I have small amounts of coffee flavoured stuff then I only get a sore tummy! however I had coffee ice cream at nanas and then forgot and had more coffee ice cream that evening) and now I have so many itchy sore red hives that Im surprised bees arent coming out of my pores ;---;!!
