Honestly I'd like the reading drive to come back. Books are the only thing I hoard and when I heard they were done with it for good, well...I have all these books, and nothing to do with them, because I don't quite want to sell them.
Let me tell how much I am here for a feed your pet all you can shove down their gullet day. Most of what's left over from my hoard is food, because I didn't know how to deal with setting aside food Cibophobia needs, versus what he doesn't.
I also think that a lot of people use their galleries for minions, and if there were a minion collection that could help.
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
As unhappy as I am with this new change, I do like some of the suggestions listed here. But I do not care for the separate pet wishlist section with it coming up and saying 'hey you're pet already has x item in treasure' For some of my pets I may want multiples of a certain item, and I've seen some amazing pet treasure done with pixel art using multiples of items etc. I do love the idea of a personal treasure, galleries with much larger limits than shops since they aren't searched as often and don't 'really' need to be a part of shop search at all, bulk discounts on pet tcs even if it was just a temporary discount to help 'bandage' all of the 'wounded' players who are no longer going to be able to display what is literally years of their lives, the minion zoo (!) forget the battling aspect of it if you have to but make a place for us to store/display our minions, lord knows I have a ton. Make Toys function like food... allows pet's to play with them and treat them like food's currently work. Achievements and high score lists and all that good stuff... that'll give an outlet to those items that currently only serve three functions (make pets happy, TCs, galleries), or four if they're wearable too. Have the Recycle Beast accept ALL reign items, ToT items, flowers, other event items, etc, for 48 hours after an event has ended. Alternatively, have one day a week/month/season where the recycle beast will accept any and all items that have a "holiday item" rarity. Being able to sort/order our current collections (plushie/beanbag) in a similar way that we can our sticker album. I like many others am not happy about these changes, and I wish they weren't happening, but if they have to happen maybe some things can be done to make the transition less horrible to those of us that like to collect things? I know things have to change, and I don't deal well with change, but this seems likes too big of a change with too little warning/thought to ways that could make it easier on all of us. I know most of my suggestions are just repeats of others, but honestly they've said things better than I could. xD

I'll miss having galleries, they are fun. I would like a list of what toys our pets have played with and maybe a use for furniture. Subeta houses! And maybe a bottle like collection thing where you can put your potions, food like bottle items, etc. That would be totally awesome

I love a lot of these suggestions, this is the type of constructive feedback we need right now! These are super helpful, we definitely need to find more things to do with items, shop revamp or not. All that stuff shouldn't just be sitting around doing nothing, we should find ways to use it.
I just wanted to touch on the hoarding aspect. People seem to be going in on me whenever I mention it for one reason or another, but I just wanted to make it a bit more clear. We realize people are going to hoard. I do it more out of laziness (I have a shop that's called "sorting", basically where I dump stuff until I feel like I want to deal with it), sometimes out of a desire to profit in the future (I went through a period years and years ago before I was staff where I just bought 1k Wizard Tokens when they were under 1 mil and sold them when they were over 4 mil. That's how this happened: You have 133,136. I also had a shop I did for a while that was SBQ items I bought under 1 mil, and had them all priced at 1 mil, so anything I sold was just profit randomly.)
There really isn't a perfect solution to getting rid of the millions of junk items on site that doesn't encourage hoarding in itself. Any of the RB/crystal situations still encourage it, even if the intent is to get stuff off site. Any of our events with currencies encourage it. Having stuff isn't all bad, it just needs to be managed on site better--fixing up the database-heavy shops, not leaving loopholes for millions of Free Beers to exist overnight, things like that. We have to have things for you guys to do. I always liked the achievements for having lots of items, buying lots of items, I like the competition with myself and the things to do. The reality is we have people playing for the first time who may never catch up, but we need to have things for older users to stay busy with. There was a period where I had the most achievements on site and I was bored because I had almost nothing (short of battling, which isn't my jam) to do. We try to do more of the achievements now that involve actually doing things during plots or having certain collection items, but people give us guff about that encouraging hoarding, too. There isn't a perfect solution because it isn't something we can really solve.
We want this to be fun for you guys. That's the whole point! I still play, I like finding clever things to keep people busy, so threads like this are really helpful.
We're listening to you guys and want to make this as painless as possible AND have more fun stuff to do with your items in the process!
I want to add the idea that if the minion zoo is released, that it comes with the feature of creating different categories for them.Similar to what we do with shops and galleries. But maybe the first four categories could be free, and additional ones could be bought with sP,to be a type of sP sink.
Like a good neighbor, stay over there!

Please don't make galleries like collections where you cannot remove items. :(
who suggested destroying stuff in galleries like in collections sometimes i put cws in there because they match my gallery's theme but take them out to wear them when i feel like it
but im all for the minion zoo as a minion collection page instead - tbh thats what i thought it was until i found out bout 5 minutes ago that it was meant for battling (???)

Amended the wishlist suggestion realized I mist something for it that yes you can attach multiple items to a pet it would just ask before you to do so . However for some users they may only want their pet to have certain pets one copy of an item it could be helpful not having to go in and remove treasures that they didn't want to attach to a pet for various reasons but accidently did by mistake. The second part of the idea was that when I create my pets I have certain ideas, stories, or specific themes in mind for them (for example Yadiloh who I am looking for one copy each of every holiday item ever released to add to her treasure chest because she's meant to be the Spirit of Holidays) with the curtain system only items with the word holiday in its name show up if you type it into the search engine.

For the "feed pets more" suggestion - maybe some sort of random event? Like "Oh no! (pet name) is famished! Maybe you should stop for lunch..." Not sure how it would work if they're in the resort. Maybe they stay hungry for 24 hrs (if players don't feed them) then go back to resort status? Or, since there are essentially 2 resorts (Lakeview and Rathskeller Lodge) maybe one could only feed the pet to a certain point? Like their hunger level stays 7/10. That way we still have 3 pts to keep feeding them when they're hungry, but they can still battle even if we forget.
And for holiday items at the recycle beast - Maybe have a special bar at the bottom of 5 random (daily, like the other items) holiday/ special event items (steele shovels, concoction bases anyone?) that changes seasonally. Similar to the Millionaire Center or Quest Shop rotating it's stock.
I like the idea of a "pet gorging day" every now and then, where we could feed our pets unlimited quantities of horded food, even if they are in the resort or full.
I also like the idea of allowing pets to have more then one minion. ( Did I actually read the word "pet pet?" ).
I also like the idea of being allowed to bring in any piece of hoarded crap ( like appliances...stuff that doesn't really do anything ) to the Recycling Beast on special days instead of waiting for him to ask for items that he choses, and earning recycle points.
I have two thoughts:
I'd like to see a general item deletion achievement
What about a checklist system for galleries like SubetaLodge uses; some sort of user defined parameters (item types, holidays, etc) would display items held in one's vault.
This has probably been mentioned already but I don't care.
Why not make the user shops/galleries expandable by individual user? Meaning create a sP or csc sink?
Example of a GA account: 500 limit =given 750 limit? = purchase with csc/sP 900 limit? = purchase with csc/sP 1150 limit? = purchase with csc/sP
If we could just have that option to expand on our own then i think it will calm a lot of users down (like myself) that didnt visit forums and expected an official news post regarding this a year ago.
[Edit] This becomes reassuring to the community and more than likely only those who are serious about collecting and displaying their galleries or selling from shops will spend the csc or sP.
I dont care about my shop, i dont care about selling, but i do care about my gallery. I'll be more likely to spend CSC or SP to expand my gallery rather than expand my shop.
Achievements for playing toys with your pet, I remember suggesting this years ago. There's currently like, no reason to play with your pet. Would get rid of some of the junk in my hoard

i see a lot of people talking about the recycling beast, but didnt they make lots of holiday items frag-able a few months back? and there was a whole uproar about how snowball hoarders would get a ton of crystals. or are the stuff in the frag shop not as appealing as the stuff in the recycle shop and thats why people prefer to use the recycle beast? or is there something im missing?

THIS! SO much! Totally agree on this one.
And after sleeping one night and thinking about this whole desaster, I'm still really pissed off and can't believe all this shit. >:( And then I hear Subeta staff all be like 'Yeah, we're doing this for you' and '..but it's a crucial step for the continued improvement and success of the site, and for your overall user experience." And I'm still asking myself 'is this a joke?'. Do you believe that nonsense you're talking about? Seriously? Continued improvement??
Yeah riiiiiight..... lol? Since when?
Well, I've been through a lot of ups and downs with Subeta the last 9 years (seems like more downs), but I always accepted it somehow. But this time you're going to far and that's it for me. :( But - I think I already said that - you just don't care.
But what if the thing we want to do with our items is collect them? I'm not against using items, I do it (gourmand, read books, collections etc.) but the galleries I have, I have for a reason: I like those things and I want to have them somewhere I can look at them. One of my larger galleries, The Family Room, also my oldest collection, is in honor of my kids and husband. I will never use, sell or get rid of that one, I've spent so much time and sP and some CSC on it. The Kitchen is a close second (I always collect cold drinks and cheese whenever possible. It's just my thing.) I'm not moving anything anywhere until this is all over. I'll just let my account sit for 6 months and find something else to do in that time.
sniffs I like hoarding. It makes me happy. I can understand that having 100K items in a single shop is bad. But since I don't have money I can spend on the site, selling items in my only way to participate. I love questing and restocking and having a larger shop is helpful since I have to hand-price and only have time to do that when I'm on a holiday every three-6 months. I'd be okay if it was something like 5 or 10 K vs limitless though. Or if I could have more than 3 shops and they all allowed a few thousand unique items. 250 is just...so few.
But I am REALLY sad about the gallery. I have 6K books. I was just starting a new gallery for flowers/spring related items. I don't want to have to split them between shops or read them to my pet. I just like to look at them. And sometimes give them as presents.
We&;re listening to you guys and want to make this as painless as possible AND have more fun stuff to do with your items in the process!

That's fine, if that's how you want to play you can do that. I have huge pet treasures because that's how I like displaying my items in a non-permanent way. The reason I got into pets at all was to have large, developed treasures. I'm not as into collections as I am these.
There a quite a few things about minions beeing suggested. Which is what I'm most concerned with as that's the only thing I really hoard aside from old event stuff in my vault.
I love the idea of the minion zoo as a way to stash minions (I would deal with only one of each). I really don't need the battling with minions aspect. It's a cute idea, but I guess that can wait until more important things are fixed. But PLEASE don't make it so you can't remove them like with collections! I want to able to take minions out for my pets to use when it fits and I want to DISPLAY the minions I like. Yes, it's also collecting as many as i like, but I'd never put even one single minion in a collection that "destroys" the item. Not even with super special archievements that give out super cute minions as a prize. (hides away all the poor minions seriously, I hesitate to turn them in for questing let alone feed the edible ones to my pet...)
Aside from that, yes please, more options for items to use. Even though I don't use the new baking thing, but that's a nice example of giving things a new purpose. (not the best example maybe as food is already edible)
More types of quests asking for "useless" items. Maybe without item and SP prizes but some other way of reward system. Like some NSC asking for makeup/grooming parlour items and you get points you can turn in for new skins, hair saloon styles or facial features? I also liked the suggestion of an NSC asking for furniture/home appliances by . Also suggested making more furniture wearable. While I like the general idea that would be a crapload of work for artists and I guess for a lot of items not give out very satisfying results. (How to fit a sofa in the HA space for example?) Here aswell I think a quest that would not give out items or sp directly, but rather let us collect for cool wearables like backgrounds including furniture, or maybe a barouque tapestry site layout would help to remove items out of circulation and still NOT put huge amounts of items or sp back in on the other side. I know we already have quest points and a quest only giving out those could either crash the value of those or not be worth it because you get not enough reward. So if this would be done with quest points maybe make the skins super expensive compared to the other items. Other option wto solve this would be yet another currency... hurray. It might need a lot of tweaking around, but I guess the general idea might encourage people to sink sp and items into it.
Start typing so many things and realize halfway through that it would be to complicated or crash the economy in one or the other way or just be useless to most users or... Will see if i can come up with anything more later. ^^
