Now that one of my three projects for this semester is nearly finished, the deadline for another got pushed back until after Christmas holidays and my group for the third is so motivated that we're already neck-deep in planning out the project (when we'd only need to be at that 'vague idea so let's think about it a little more' stage), I'm hoping this semester'll be a little less stressful that anticipated.

I've had a break from classes for 1.5 years and it's always a bit stressful to get back into full "school mode" after a break that long. ^^" Everything else has pretty much taken a back-seat to getting back into the swing of univeristy life. It helps that most of my friends are students, too, so we're all busy with course work around the same time and no one feels neglected. On the upside, I get to spend more weekends "unplugged" (i. e. with my e-mail programme shut off and no work that needs to be done) since my part-time hours have been halved. Surprisingly, that's a lot more restful that I thought it'd be.

How are things on your end?

I know what you mean. This is my first year back in college after a break for 3 years. I've never felt so far behind in math as I do now lol. Ugh! I have two more weeks of this semester so now is the time for the heavy duty projects and exams. Don't let them stress you out, you can do this! If I can go back, I know anyone can.

I'm glad your weekend is more "unplugged". Sounds like you needed a bit of a rest from both work and school.

Things are going alright. Hubby just got a new job, which should be a big help. We're both in college as well so dealing with all the extra work on top of us both working full time has had it's challenges but it will ok in the end :)

You can do it! Math isn't so bad (so long as you don't suffer from dyscalculia - or major in Math). Always remember: Women get better average grades than men so don't let anyone tell you you're just incapable to do math. It might take work, but you can do it!

Good luck on the heavy duty projects - I know exactly what you're talking about.

In my case, I wasn't completely out of the whole learning stuff so most of the adjusting is due to the strict schedule (as opposed to the self-imposed one before). So most stress is actually caused by being slightly panicky on how on earth I'm going to fit classes and projects and work and me-time (read: Subeta, eating, sleeping) all into the usual 24-hour days. It usually takes me a couple weeks to figure it all out (and figure out what my teachers really want, not what's looking pretty on slides) and I think I've got things down fine by now.

hugs I know you and your husband can pull through this! I've heard it can be tough but I've also heard from married fellow students that taking care to plan quality time helps a lot. I hope you two will never be too busy for that. :)
