It took Emmy a moment to notice a couple other people had joined them at the back wall, presumably also terrified. She glanced at Millie and Paddy, about to attempt to make a joke to lighten the mood, despite the terror she too was feeling, when she realized that Aderyn had just bolted from the room after Emmy had released her. Letting out a soft curse, she nodded at Millie, who was closest, indicating that she was going to go follow her friend.

She side-stepped out of the room, not wanting to turn her back on the enormous spider, and nearly tripped over Aderyn's feet just outside the door as she exited the room.

"That... was very unexpected..." she said shakily, flopping to the to the cold dungeon corridor floor beside Aderyn. "Even my love of magical creatures has its limits," she said, shuddering slightly.

Magnus was a little taken aback by everyone's reaction, especially Aderyn's until he remembered that she'd said they scared her at the dueling club. He admitted he'd not like to meet one outside of its cage or chasing him but he hadn't really thought about in the club setting. Wordlessly he went to his bag and pulled out a vial and crossed over to her. He knelt down and rubbed Aderyn's back and handed her the potion. "'Ere, drink this," he said, "its the draught of Peace. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you, 'onestly." He turned red and said, "I forgot till just now actually. But it's in a cage and all... but if you all want to leave its okay. I can 'elp you to your common room or the 'ospital wing. And Sam 'ere could watch over everyone till I get back." At least Sam thought the giant spider was cool and she could manage a few minutes whilst he cared for his other friends. He vowed to ask next time if there was a creature that they DIDN'T want to see.

Aderyn groaned inwardly as she heard feet shuffling around her as people moved in closer to see if she was alright. It was Paddy's voice she heard first and she nodded, not lifting her head just yet.

"I'm fine, but I'm not going back in there."

She looked up at last, her cheeks still red from the embarrassment at her own reaction, and gratefully took a chocolate frog.

"Thank you."

She glanced over at Emmy as the girl joined them, shuffling a bit closer to the other girl as she christened the appearance of the acromanutla simply "unexpected".

"To say the least..."

Unwrapping the chocolate frog, she ate it in one bite so it couldn't get away on her and then glanced at the card. It was a Newt Scamander card and she held it up to the others.

"Anyone need this one? I've already got a few of them."

As Magnus came over, Aderyn smiled weakly, pallor from the fright setting in beneath the pink in her cheeks. She took the vial he held out to her, but instead of uncapping it, she slipped it into her pocket. She was alright at the moment, but she figured she might need the potion before bed so she didn't have nightmares about the spider in the room.

"Thanks," she said lightly. "I-I think I'm okay for now. I'm just going to stay right back here for a while."

Millie stood against the wall and saw what was a blood curling scream turn into a full blown nuclear meltdown. She watched her friend run from the room and Paddy go after her. She wanted to go check on her as well, but she didn't want to leave the safety of the wall behind her. She could feel her anxiety rising. She gave a smile and a nod to Emmy as she left to check on Aderyn.

When everyone returned, she called out to Magnus, "it was a good idea in theory. I mean, this is the Care of Magical Creatures club. Not all creatures are cute and cuddly." She felt bad for the huge spider but she didn't want to get any closer than she already was.

"Yeah, I know, that was an understatement," Emmy said, with a weak laugh. She was trembling slightly, but ignored it as she felt Aderyn shuffle closer to her for comfort. She put an arm around the other girl, reaching out as she asked about a chocolate frog card.

"I'll take Newt. I already have 24 of him but I'm trying to collect as many of him as possible." she blushed slightly and then smiled. "He's kind of my hero. Top Magizoologist and all..."

She took the card from Aderyn, slipped it into her robes, and looked up as Magnus approached, her arm still around the other girl.

She listened to him talk, kinda wishing she had been given some of the potion too, listening as Aderyn replied to him.

"I can bring her back to the common room if she wants to go, anyway," Emmy said, reminding Magnus she was there.

Aderyn was grateful for Emmy's arm around her shoulders as the girl embraced her. She chuckled softly as Emmy snatched the Newt Scamander card, knowing just how much the other girl loved the man. Aderyn couldn't talk, though - she had the same kind of hero worship for Augusts Pye - the first healer to have brought muggle healing techniques into St. Mungo's. He still worked there with her father and she go all nervous around him whenever she ran into him because he was such a source of inspiration to her.

Turning her head briefly, she saw Millie still standing in the room with the acromantula from her spot outside the door and she admired the girl's courage, even though Millie looked pretty nervous. She smiled at the girl in what she hoped was an encouraging manner and turned her attention back to Magnus and Emmy.

"I'm fine, really," she assured them. "I'll listen to the lesson from out here. I want to learn it all, I just can't be in that room."

"I'll leave these here, just in case anyone else feels they need something," Paddy said, leaving a small pile of chocolate frogs by the door. She had a feeling they'd all be gone by the time the Care of Magical Creatures session ended.

Satisfied that Aderyn was ok, Paddy took a deep breath and stepped back into the dungeon. She wasn't going to guarantee she'd get very close to either spider, but she was going to be in the same room.... at least for a while. After all, how could a werewolf be scared of something as silly-looking as a huge hairy spider?

He shifted on the balls of his feet unsure what else to do. "Alright, just lemme know if I can 'elp." He waved his wand and said "accio potions." Two potions slipped out of his bag and floated into his hand. He set them beside Emmy and Aderyn. "I'll leave these two with you ladies. Please take it if you need it. I 'ave to keep 'em on 'and now cos o' my temper with the full moon." He made a frown and looked back at Aderyn. He didn't mean to make her upset but he had to trust her choice to stay. Nodding to no one in particular he moved back to the inside of the room. Loudly he said to everyone, "I've got more calming draughts in me bag if anyone wants or needs one. Feel free to take one. If anyone needs to step out please do so or get me attention and I'll 'elp you." It wasn't that he didn't care about the others as much as he did about Aderyn but more because she had been the worst and he was trying to triage the situation.
"Er so...er..." his voice trailed off as he was not sure if he should carry on yet or not.

Millie wasn't entirely sure what to do. The meeting wasn't going well. She looked out and saw Aderyn and Emmy. Aderyn looked like she was doing better. She gave a smile and a wave. She started to wonder if there was going to be a lesson. She knew she couldn't leave her spot until the huge spider was gone.

"That's okay, I'll stay out here with you," Emmy said, as Aderyn told them she was okay and would just listen from here. "Its not that acromantula aren't interesting, its just... I'd rather learn about them from a distance," she said with a weak laugh.

"Thanks, Magnus," she smiled, as he set a couple more flasks down beside her and Aderyn.

"Go on, continue as normal," Emmy prompted him. "We're fine to listen from here."

Aderyn was still feeling a bit embarrassed at her reaction but was glad to see that things were getting back to normal. As Magnus headed up to the front of the classroom again, she listened intently to hear what he was going to say. When he only trailed off a bit, however, she frowned, feeling bad for taking the wind out of his sails with her reaction to the acromantula.

Pulling a small sheaf of parchment from her book bag, Aderyn scrawled a short note to Magnus, folded it up into a tiny paper airplane, and enchanted it to fly into the room and into Magnus' hand. The note read:

You can do it, Magnus! Everything is fine - just go ahead and give the lesson! We'd all love to hear what you have to tell us!

She was content with the little message, as there was still no way in hell she was going back into the room. With the note sent off, she glanced over at Emmy, reaching for one of the chocolate frogs Paddy had left behind and handing them to the other girl.

"Chocolate helps everything, or so I hear. Here!"

Gaia walked to the front to get a better look. she really isn't much of a spider person but she respects them enough. Gaia wondered if they could read minds. NOW THAT would make for a great Seer pet! Gaia smiled to herself at the thought.

() "It seems you have all the right contacts to find creatures!" Gaia beamed.

Aderyn's note arrived. Not wanting to make it worse for her he did as she asked, despite the fact that Millie was glued to the wall as was Paddy. "Just lucky," he said to Gaia, who thankfully appeared fine, "Dad's got a lot of connections. Though 'e won't tell me 'ow 'e got these 'ere. He shifted the cage from the werewolf meeting to 'ere for the big un. Said there was no need for 'im to spider-sit though as it ain't going nowhere and its got a forcefield round it so it can't even get its legs out 'o the cage." He went over to the infant and petted it. "The baby is called Jurig. Would you like to pet it?"

() Gaia took a look around a noticed the reactions. "I can sit a little far from the group if you need me to hold him. I don't mind it. Let's see if he likes me first." Gaia stood close enough to Magnus and waited for Jurig to decide what to do.

In a low, almost child-sounding voice came the words, "Pretty." Jurig came up to her and rubbed his body against her hand. "Soft." He seemed to lke Gaia a lot. Magnus said, "You don't 'ave to 'old 'im if you don't wanna."

"We can hold him? Neat!" Sam exclaimed "I can't believe how cute the are when they're little. Big fuzzy puppy spider, almost like a tarantula." She held her hand down next to 's, palm flat so Jurig could climb onto it if he wanted to. The big spider's babyish voice made him even more adorable in her opinion. "I wonder why so many people are afraid of spiders? The grown Acromantula I understand, It could eat me, but this little guy is sweet." she said. Stopping to think a second She looked the huge spider in its eight glowing eyes and asked "What do you like to eat best?'

Magnus felt he'd drank a large glass of butterbeer, the warmth spreading through his body as he observed Sam's reaction to the spider. Jurig started alternating getting petted bewteen both Sam and Gaia though he seemed a little torn between which girl to stick with. "Good fing, you don't got a basilisk," Magnus whispered near Sam's ear. "They fear 'em." It was then a deep rumbly male voice came from the large one, "Centaurs taste deee-lic-iiious." He made a clicking sound with his pincers and said, "fur and skinnnn are so good together. What do you like to eat, human child?"

"Grilled trout's my favorite." Sam replied to the spider's query "I like Venison too, but only the red meat. I couldn't eat the skin or hair even if I wanted to.
It must be very difficult to catch a centaur. They are smart and fast, and fierce fighters."

( ) Gaia was looking at Jurig when she heard the deeper voice without thinking Gaia said "I don't know horses would seem tough meat. Maybe something fluffier would be delicious." She realized what she said and looked over where the voice had come from. "Just don't eat me. I wouldn't like that." Gaia sounded like a mom scolding her child. "Jurig you can go with Sam if you like. I will be here if you want some pets from me." Gaia scratch the pup spider like she does to her dogs.

Millie stood quietly against the wall and watched a baby get passed around. Much like a human baby, Millie wanted to keep as much distance as possible. She looked towards Magnus and gave a smile to let him know she was okay.
