I can't ever remember what month things happen in the summer haha. Subeta basically takes summer break from like May to August when they do some plot stuff. I wish they had some more stuff going on during those months, especially now that I'm not in school and am on Subeta fairly consistently every week. I want them to do more battling stuff, but I guess in preparation for that I should probably start doing BQ again...
It wouldn't surprise me. that line kinda gets crossed, I still don't think we should have had a competition involving alcohol. if a teacher did that contest, they would be fired. you mean it doesn't sound appealing to you? yeah didn't sound good to me too.
plot was in august, which is when the gelatin war should have happened but since the plot happened... yeah no war. more battling stuff will happen according to Amber this year :)
LOL I really hope they don't take any of those ideas for zombie skins...
What plot was last summer, was it Faded Memories? When was the event with Ian and Jaxon? I can't remember when everything has happened. D:
Well, we do have pirates, so I guess alcohol could be swept under the "what? They're PIRATES it's what they DO" fiction rug. But yeah, nope, I'm perfectly okay with zero STD mentions on site. I'd rather just have rotty and peeling flesh, although that sounds odd to me now, too. You'd think they'd be somewhat equivalent.
it was still nice to have support of team no-team people. Plus it brought you into the shark tank :)
the site generally is PG13 I think but that seems to be more in terms of language. Themes for the site definitely seem to run a little older, which isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on what it is. I thought the free beer event was kind of weird, but the site is definitely getting better!
I think they mainly needed the free beer event to get rid of all the damn things they let onto the site during the cruise event.
I like this :D. Maybe find a way to livestream it somehow with a chat thing going at the same time?
Harry Potter inspired dresses! !!

there's a website called Rabb.it that does just that :D
:D I can do the streaming, but I might be able to watch...though it always seems Im a few seconds behind everyone.

I was talking about the event where you could win a prize for designing your own beer or brewed thing. I don't think that would have worked if it was an offline competition unless it was age restricted. I don't actually know the laws about it though, it just sounds bad.
last summer was faded memories, the jaxon plot was the previous october.
I'm okay with alcohol on the site, but rewarding people for making their own even if they're 13? nah.
Ah yes, I remember now.
And oh, that's the competition event you were talking about. I thought you meant the one where you could donate a bunch of free beers, similar to the snowball competition. Yeah I'm not sure about that one either, I usually don't participate in those kinds of contests anyway because I can't art. Even though for that one they said you didn't need to do the art yourself, I honestly don't even know much about alcohol even though I'm over 21. ;~;
There are lots of other things they can do contests like that for, so yeah IDK.
I don't drink. I admit I think prohibition would be cool, though I know it doesn't work. everyone knows that without art, you have no chance of winning.
Yeah I personally don't drink either, and while I feel like people should be able to make their own decisions about whether or not they want to partake in that sort of thing, it does irk me when people are irresponsible about it.
But anyway, I'm not sure how much of a lasting issue it really was. I don't even remember like any of the entries, even the ones I thought were clever and voted for.
I think things would be better off without it. sexual assault on college campuses would probably not be so prevalent. idk, people abuse it, like anything. people won't stop either.
it's not that it's a lasting issue, it's that it could very well be against the law. I'm not sure though. it just seemed in poor taste when the competition could have been anything else.
I'm not sure about the legal aspect either, but yeah they could have done like another costume contest or something. Although maybe people are getting tired of those.
all of the contests involve creativity and no matter what I'm put at a disadvantage :p we should just have a popularity contest. I wouldn't even win that, but at least we can say what the contests really are.
no it's alright! i can definitely host the rabb.it :)
I'll try to catch the movie on Monday if I'm not working or doing other things.

I think the difference is that the stigma makes it "cool" to do in college. I purposefully chose a college without Greek life so it wouldn't be so prevalent, but drinking was still a big thing. I do drink, but my mom's family isn't from the US so her attitude towards it has always been nonchalant, and I grew up around alcohol when we visited her family and the adults would have a beer or cocktail while sitting around talking. I agree that the beer design competition was in rather poor taste. There's only so much that you can do with it. I don't really drink craft beers where there's more creativity. I dunno what other fun competitions for the creative/crafty people there are though. It feels like whatever they choose for them, it alienates a portion of the userbase. Good intentions, but could use better execution.
Thanks! It's been fun :)
