I was sleeping, just woke up and read all the nice/helpful comments--and now my brain has scrambled them all together, so I'm going to have to do a group response: truly appreciate the info about scrolls (not readable) as well as the help with tips (or commiseration) about trying to grab stuff at Freyalise. I DO have slow internet, too, and I also "have" a slow "me." No worries cause I manage to find what I want/need. Fortunately I'm only after the books, and not any of the wearables or other collectibles. I actually snagged a beanbag yesterday, though!

The funniest thing is that I've been most successful in snagging books. I think I've grabbed about four! Best of luck, though, it's so hard to want things out of stupid Freyalise and not get them. I think I didn't even try to RS last year, which was probably a mistake since I'm not doing too badly this year so far. With any luck things'll be easier this weekend (haha, okay, not really but I hope it will!)

I want to invite myself to this pizza party. u I succumbed to the lure and adopted a pet, changed its name, and intend to zap it into chibi octo cuteness, so that's one down in the army! If we all had one....maybe we'd be Team Octo instead of Team Shark.

Yep, and I have to overcompensate for JUST crossing into T11 a little bit ago. Had I known there was a plot coming up, I would have lingered in T10 to give myself better odds at getting top-in-tier! I've been bad about training/BQing for a while so that hasn't helped either.

That's a big reason I'm lingering as long as I can in T11 and not training up. I did pretty well in the last boss fight for my tier, and I want to continue to do well instead of matching up against all the Big Tough 12's!

The tails are pretty but something's off about the proportion of them, I'm not sure about them. It's a little uncanny valley, that rock right where I expect to see fishbutt.

Agreed. It's a bit awkward but the tail is quite lovely. I'm undecided on those because of the posture though. If I want them while making a HA, I'll buy one, but for the time being they don't make a lot of sense. I've got all the amazing Delish backgrounds as well as some of the other items from the different lines this year, so that (and GA accounts) is where pretty much all my CSC has gone. I need to save CSC though in anticipation for the Black Friday sale when the GoFP chance wheel price is usually lowered so I can get a bunch of old WL items (or resell them for holiday sp!)

I bought 3 chance bags. Might get a fourth if I decide the beanbag is worth 250 csc, but we'll see. I'm never going to have a completed collection, so I'm not too worried at the moment.

I need to get up to the top of T11 before the next boss battle. I just can't do enough damage per round to do very well. Based on the last two boss battles (Kiyo and the Gelatin Wars one), I should have enough damage to place in the top 10, but it all depends on how well everyone else did. I'm sure you did quite well with all the battles you were able to do!

LOL I think I might have snagged that one last night! Yeah, I figure what I don't get I can buy, and if it's too expensive I can wait until next year (if it's something new this year). I don't mind being a year behind, at least not too much.

I try to keep up with the books cause I spent a fortune a few months ago (over a billion) to read every available book to my main reader. All my pets read--most of them are over 500. I have 5 newer pets who are not quite there yet. But I only read the new/expensive books to Penny. She's very high on the list, was at 26th when I checked last night. I had her up to 21st, but she fell out a bit. I'm not sure how. I may have missed a few new titles? I'm not as on top of things as most people are here. I'm going to have to be going soon. My chromebook needs charging and I need a shower!

I know the feeling. I was reading books to my "librarian" pet, hit 800, then realized I really should be reading to my battle pet because AP.

And now I have to start all over with a new pet and it's so expensive, and I regret having to start over, essentially!

Congrats on reading all of them, that's an insane goal and that's fantastic. There are a bunch of books that come out in the cash shop, or they're like, wearables AND books and I've come to the realization I can't do it all unless I am independently wealthy. So those are probably the ones you're thinking of?

btw I keep meaning to ask, are you wearing that background because of the colors, or because you play Ingress? xD

I need to change what it says on my forum post, cause she's no longer in 21st place, but I have NO clue how to find the place where you leash the pet and change the statement. I asked someone recently but all they said was "go to the drop down list" and that wasn't specific enough for me to understand. I searched all over the site and I gave up. Do YOU know how to do that?

Well I might have missed some of the new ones in the book nook, though i usually read the news posts religiously. I used to read all the cash shop books to my pets, but no longer. I WAS spending RL money here (for nearly 3 yrs) but not now. My income is fixed and the price of food keeps going up, and we DO have to eat. Plus, I got a bit perplexed with some of the big changes here (in the last year) and decided I no longer want to support subeta as a business. I know THEY have to make money, too, but I can't be one of the people who makes that happen. I'm simply way too poor!

The background is just for the colors, I used it for team gold (and purple). I have NO clue what Ingress is, lol, I am one of the oldest people here in subeta (61) and I don't play video games. I DID just google it though, and seems it's some sort of a role playing game, though Wiki says it's a MMOG action game. I guess that is sort of a role play, but not technically (you don't necessarily have a character with a bio type background for that, I'm guessing)

I JUST got my first cell phone this year and I DO enjoy some games, but much different than what a lot of people like. I like word games and puzzles that have spatial relationships. After we had to do 2048 for the plot I downloaded it to my phone, it's really fun and addictive. That's MY kind of game!!

I always loved puzzles decades ago, when they were in the form of actual puzzle pieces. I'm so old that I remember a life w/out microwaves, calculators and VCR's. That was the world before digital anything--before the computer chip was invented--when the only computers were HUGE things that took up entire rooms and they were ONLY used in corporations (and all they really could do was math, lol) Yes, I am a real life oldie moldie!! (born in 1955).

OH my, it took me a long time to type this response. I had to get out of my warm bed and plug in my chromebook. I keep the charger in the living room next to my couch (where I'm usually camped out). Ha, I didn't know how to change the leashed pet's description, but I got curious once you mentioned it and I do now! If you go to your Pet page and scroll to the pet in question, then click on that absurdly tiny little square-with-a-pen icon in the corner of their information box, a dropdown list appears with Profile, Books Read, Foods Eaten, etc. Click on Leash and it will take you to that specific page. On that page there's a text box you can use to change what's written there!

Ahaha, okay, I thought so with the purple! Ingress is actually a "virtual reality" kind of game, which basically means it uses GPS and map function to show you an alternate view of what's actually around you. When I pull it up on my phone, it looks a lot like that background, with the dark black land and the lighter bluish roads. There are two teams, one blue and one green, and it's basically like "capture the flag" where you (physically) roam around the city and virtually "claim" spots of interest (churches, libraries, post offices, interesting public art sculptures and murals) for your team. You can also make triangles, which nets your team a lot more points, which explains the geometric shapes on the background there. It can involve teamwork as some of the bigger "projects" involve more than one person to be able to pull off, and I've made quite a few RL friends from playing it.

As for age, pshaw. One of my teammembers is 82 years old and prides herself on being the oldest (well, she was, and now is second oldest) player in the world (as far as we know). There's more than a few grandparents who play!

Subeta used pink and purple to stay just far enough away from the real colors, haha. I didn't think I would be so interested in the game (I downloaded it because it's made by the same people who make Pokemon so I thought I'd try it) and now I use it to encourage me to exercise because I HAAATE exercising. But with this, it's like "Okay, one more block, and wait, there's that thing over there, and one more block..."
