there are very few notable drops. is the only thing I can think of besides the vials.
am I the only one that thinks a page that has every kind of quest on the site would be nice? something like a quest hub page.
it could have a link to each quest, including bqs, shinwa, and drills, along with an explanation of each that would look something like this:
Wizard Quests: The Wizard asks for two low rarity items in exchange for coveted Wizard Tokens! The faster you complete the quest, the more tokens you get.
with actual details on the rarity of the items he asks for or something. it would really be a good thing for newbies and instead of linking to a specific quest when they try to do that, they could link to that page. check the questpoint blurb in the vault, it links you directly to pete. Amber didn't really like this idea though
You're right, there's very little currently in the way of gelatin items, no battle books, no recipe books, very few wearables, no plush/beanbags, couple of weapons... Time to suggest Gelatin Month? :P
That actually sounds like a pretty nice idea to me! I know they have the "See other quests" button on each quest giver's page and the Quests sidebar widget, but I think some sort of quest headquarters or something would be really nice.
Because like you said, quests can be pretty confusing for newbies. Some might not even realize that quests are a thing at all, unless they happen upon one of them while exploring the lands, or an experienced user mentions them in the question threads about good ways to make sP.
I don't know how much work it would take to organize something like that, but it wouldn't have to be anything super fancy.
See Other Quests doesn't have bqs/shinwa/drills on it. it would mostly benefit new players as older players already know about quests for the most part, but it wouldn't be hard to implement at all.
It shouldn't be hard at all to organize it. I think it could be under subeta.net/quests.php since that isn't a page yet and then just link to everything. all it would take is some understanding of what each quest asks for and a pretty concise yet thorough explanation of each quest. linking things wouldn't be a problem.
Yeah I don't think it's a bad idea. I could see them maybe saying no to it though, since like you said it would really only benefit new users.
Still though, they do have that page when you don't have enough sP for something that suggests things or whatever, I feel like that is mostly for the benefit of new users as well.
It's a good idea, it's just one of those things where you have to decide "Is it really worth it?"
Hmm.. develop a sudden 'allergy' to gelatin, and see if that helps others come round to your way of thinking!
& kbbob There is the Subetapedia section for quest givers, but that has their back stories, rather than quest-type info and is buried quite well under: Subetapedia - NPC Lists - Quest Givers
You'd not find that as a newbie.
which both are true, but it's kinda missing the point I bring up about how it could be better. it wouldn't be hard to make a page full of links, it would take a bit of work to do the writeups, but it wouldn't be difficult. it just looks sloppy imo when they say "do your quests" in reference to all of them, but they link a specific one like Pete or something. or when they link to Sarah in the subetapoints page. if you have between 500k and 750k or something like that, you won't be able to do Sarah or Saggi quests (unless they fixed that gap, but I don't think they did) so being linked to Sarah's quests won't get you anywhere.
yeah you wouldn't find that as a newbie + you wouldn't really find that useful as a newbie.
That's true. I feel like a lot of things about the site are not super new-user friendly though. I know my way around really well now, but when I first joined I did find it pretty confusing. Thankfully, I had a friend who had convinced me to sign up in the first place, and she kind of walked me through most of it.
Yeah. I guess we'll see what ends up happening. It would be nice to get Shinwa fixed, and some of those other things.
Also are either of you having trouble with HAs loading? They're coming up as broken images for me on the forums...
It won't happen ;p Shinwa at least will get fixed eventually.
Yeah they've been pretty slow all day for me
I completely missed the Sarah quests as a newbie - think I did 1 - but had no idea what was going on there. And the fact that some quests (Carl) need a map completing before you can access them, took me an age to figure out.
No weird images currently, but could be subject to change! :)
I don't think they were around when I was a newbie, and haven't done any according to the achievement
You are officially entitled to talk about 'back in the day' and 'you youngsters don't know how good you've got it'... :p
More seriously, though, a bit of a quest explanation/guide would be a handy thing. Maybe not a site priority, but useful.
And I just spotted it's nearly 2am; should sleep! Have a good evening. :)
I am totally unclear of what the actual point is of donating towards Babette is right now. Someone care to tell me the benifits?
good night!
the color that is donated the most = the color of the new baby. so donate one thing and forget about it like the rest of us.
ftw
_> i feel kinda bad, i know what they're trying to do with this but...with no real reward it's kinda pointless. :
yeah exactly. there are over 3k different items with red in the name, including CSC cards that you can donate (for now) haha
lol, i went with the first, cheap as possible, item i could find on the market, just to be able to throw something in because i'm a cheapskate. (Who in their right mind is honestly going to throw CSC cards into this?? Hope there's no misclicks!)
