I'm pretty sure I just got it from my parents, actually. They're much the same way, and growing up we moved a lot so that helped too. While packing or unpacking, whenever we came across some junk if we didn't need it we'd just throw it out or donate it or something.

And yeah, I'm the same way too. I've never really wanted a huge house or anything, but a fancy library or reading room type of thing would be amazing. Maybe some day...

There's always hope for summer plots or events, as the summer is long without them... :)

Library sharks unite! Love a bit of book collectioneering, this should be encouraged.

Have a good rest. :) Records-wise, I only have a few vinyl bits tucked away, mainly Depeche Mode singles and possibly a couple of Bowie albums. Oh, and the Rock Horror Picture Show soundtrack!

My other half had a terrible vinyl-based incident - left his 90s dance records with a friend at a lock-up, friend ditched on him and he lost the lot. That was some years back, but he's still annoyed about it.

OK, confession time. Never read LoTR. Never read Harry Potter.
I am a vintage crime fan - Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Gladys Mitchell - and also love Horror, Victorian ghost stories, baking and Bento books!

TS restock

I'm dying to have the energy to get back into reading for pleasure. I read so many science articles at work that I'm just too burned out when I get home. Hopefully my next job doesn't involve this level of dense reading so I can get back to my love of books.

Having no time has not stopped me from buying/receiving more books though. I have a large stack that needs to be read, and my mom is forever complaining about my books in my bedroom at her house haha. I need to realphabetize the books. It's been a while :)

Yay book collecting! Seems like now we also need an item of a shark reading a book or something. Or a shark bookmark, I think I saw someone bring up bookmarks recently and having some new ones.

LotR is one of my favorites, mainly because I like the writing style just as much as I like the story itself. It's not for everyone though, I've heard people say it's too long-winded and detailed. But I enjoy it. Not as much of a horror fan, although I've read some stuff that was like semi-horror/fantasy sort of.

Ah, you actually alphabetize yours. I probably should if/when I end up getting more, but for now mine are organized based on how much I like them. I don't have that many right now though. :P

I know what you mean about being too drained of reading to do it for fun though, part of the problem I had in college and stuff too. After studying and reading for classes, I didn't feel much like doing more reading even if it was stuff that I enjoyed. I really really want to get back into reading for fun though, I used to love it so much and I know I still do I just. I don't know, but I want to do it more often again.

alphabetical by author, then typically chronologically for series by author or alphabetically by title for standalone novels. I used to be ridiculously meticulous about it, but I just haven't spent enough time in that room to resort them! I got rid of a bunch (donated the good looking ones to the local library) that I either no longer was rereading or that I really didn't like. I have I think 8 shelves of books in my room, but I'm trying to cut it down slowly to things that I actually would want to take with me when I have room for them.

When I have a place where I can commit to a study or office or something, I really want to get a fancy set of HP, LotR, and a few other series I have and like and will probably reread. If George RR Martin ever finishes his books, I'll probably get a nice set of those. And I need a new set of John Marco's books. I pretty much have those falling apart at this point!

Ah, yeah I do put books in a series in the proper order, of course, but that's about it. I would like to have a place to put all of my current ones and get some more or even better versions of the ones I have now eventually, but I don't have my own place just yet either. Just a small shelf in my room.

I don't necessarily need to have the super fancy collector's editions, but some of the sets I have now are inconsistent. Like my HP books are mostly hard cover except for two random ones that are paperback. It doesn't make sense. xD

I did clear out quite a few of mine recently too though, books that I read once and didn't like that much or stuff that's more for children that I probably wouldn't read again. They're still sitting in a box, I need to get around to donating them or something too.

I have the HP series in hardcover, but they're really beat up from the dozens of readings they've had over the years. I prefer most series in hardcover unless they've all been published when I start them. It drives me crazy when I have paperback and hardcovers in the same series. I understand your frustration!

My boyfriend's law school texts take up a lot of bookshelf room, so not a ton of space for my books. If I can get a floorplan of our next place, I plan on trying to see if I fit a bookshelf for my books somewhere. Otherwise I'll have to wait until after I move in and then figure it out haha

Yeah, I do prefer hardcover too, unless it's a small/short book then paperback makes more sense. Part of the problem too is that some of the books I have are in bad-ish shape because they were like the "family" books that everyone read once or a few times, but now the rest of my family doesn't care about them so I've got them. I'll probably end up getting getting newer copies of some of my favorites eventually, but for now they're okay.

I can imagine law books taking up lots of space, good luck figuring it out! I'll probably end up with a bunch of engineering manuals and reference books once I start actually working more, I already have some of the textbooks and stuff that I used and decided to keep because they had good information. I don't know if I'd keep those at home though, or have some sort of office setup at work, depends on where I end up I guess.

We must have flowered extra hard this year! Thanks for the kind offer, though. :)

At some point we have to make a board in Suggestions: Sharks We'd Like to See! I would love the landshark from the sticker to be a wearable companion...

I am definitely more psychos and scary than dragons and epics.
My other half is big on sci-fi, Iain M. Banks and the like.

Aww, shame, fingers crossed for more fun reading and less intensive reading in the future.

We need properly bound books, in a lovely library/study where all the sharks can wear smoking jackets and drink coffee and fancy liqueurs...
xD

Ooh, and now I see the missing CW problem. Naked HAs and it's not Masq!
Let's hope that cures soon.

I work at a library, so I am constantly reshelving and have a great memorization for those things. Chaos at home, though I too am a bibliophile.
