Yeah of course sharks are awesome! But I have to be a fair judge too and try not to have biases! If I had my way every event would be shark themed.

So how did you guys go about planning and deciding to put all of this together? Seems like a lot of planning involved. Have you done something like this before?

There we go, finally :)

Waijay is the mastermind behind it all lol. She set up a google doc a few weeks ago that the lot of us started working on all together, she had an idea of what she wanted but wanted Tori, Cathii and my help making the challenges. I've done small things here and there but nothing big like this.

She was waiting for Greenrowan's Wayward Squirrel event to end before starting things up on here. (It also I think was a bit of an inspiration since it's one of the larger yearly user run events)

OK, so the raffle gets me: ...two of them!

Which is OK. Definitely think the raffle prize system needs a rethink before next time though. All prizes declared up front and perhaps just the numbers adjusted, if there's a lot of interest?

The gifs are brightening my day!

Though I am now terrified that the butter in the fridge will try that when I next go for some...

Not doing bad myself, have to get ready for an early start for some shopping tomorrow. And not even fun shopping, just groceries...

The Wayward Squirrel event is way too intense for me. I like this one better so far :)

At least they'll be bringing the title back for future events!

Yeah, it's nice that it will be obtainable for other things.

Though I guarantee if someone is truly unlucky and loses multiple games/events where you can get the title, people will complain again! Maybe then we need an achievement every 5 gains of the 'unlucky' title! xD

I really wish they had kept it to actual prizes too, even if less people actually won. I consider my juniper prize worse than an "unlucky" title. I would rather have gotten nothing, honestly.

All of your titles are creative and awesome, and I would fight someone for the Sharknado unlucky title. I hope that's a thing someday!

Yeah, I hate to sound ungrateful when they didn't even have to give us anything. But I think part of the reason why some people are upset is because they told us from the beginning what the prizes were going to be, and then they just decided to randomly add a bunch more stuff right as prizes were being given out (including a forum title, which some people really like). So I guess it's upsetting to those who got a junk item when they would have preferred to just get the title.

Although on the other hand, I can understand staff wanting to give more people the opportunity to win something, just because there were a crazy amount of entries. Like way more than I was expecting.

Time to start a petition? >.<

If anyone wants to post those (or add or change, whatevs) asking for them to become a thing - feel free!

There are a great many elegant shark items we could get going on here.

A few tweaks to the prize system and we have a good distraction for 'no event' times of the year!

Oh, I totally get where they were coming from, and it's a nice idea, but...oh well. I suppose it's the thought that counts.

Sharks For All? I could see it! Maybe, yeah. It's Shark season, right? I mean, it's Shark season every season, so...yeah!

Yeah, I'm not going to complain really because the tasks weren't that bad and I wasn't expecting to get anything, even if it would have been nice. I'm happy with my title anyway.

I wasn't thinking at first though, and after seeing other people bring it up I do agree that if they hadn't put in the other random prizes, the unlucky title would have been too common to really be considered special or anything. Considering the crazy number of tickets to the measly 800 prizes they started out with.

And at least the title wasn't event exclusive, so people still have a chance to get it in future events like this.

Maybe we can get some shark-related titles during Keelhauliday, if they release some more shark items or achievements like that.

I don't even care if the unlucky title became not rare - it's going to become not rare in the near future anyway, since it'll show up again.

This is mostly opinion of course, but I agree with the poster in the comment thread that said it's kind of inverted because most folks on the site value titles more than junk items. The junk items were a mistake, IMO, no matter how many folks entered. Also, were they surprised by participation? A participation title pretty much guarantees everyone's going to jump in, this shouldn't be news to anyone. I don't know why I expect things to work smoothly, it's always new Calvinball around here. xD

Elegant? I'm having a tough time imagining elegant shark items. Like what?

I think even without the participation title, the prizes were good enough to get a lot of people to want to enter at least a few times. Especially since most of the tasks weren't really that difficult.

The only people I don't feel too bad for are the ones who supposedly spent millions on baking items and are complaining as if they were promised something of equal value in return. Like raffles are always a chance, you have to decide if completing the tasks is worth it or not to you.

Little clutch/hand bags in the shape of various sharks Metallic/jewelled shark hair pins/brooches/badges Non-CW sharky footwear ( I adore these, but we could have flats, boots, etc) Shark print 50s dresses, long dresses, trousers/pants, etc Tiny veiled/non-veiled hats adorned with little sharks

Yeah, I mean, raffles usually equal a big fat nothing. That we got anything at all is pretty cool. I think for my part, I saw the alert and got all excited and realized it wasn't something to get excited over and I think I would have rather had no alert! But folks who spent lots of money on tasks with the expectation of getting equal return...yeah, no. No real sympathy either.

OMG. That should totally be part of a suggestion thread, I would say yes to all of it. I did think of a hair pin, or even a fun hat, but elegant would be even more fun.
