Adrien laughed as Ethel immediately jumped back into her enthusiastic dancing and turned to Gaia, "What are we going to do with her?"

He shot her back an identical grin, "What are we waiting for? Let's go!" and pulled her behind him, making a path through the crowds of people to get to the tables.

Fade grinned dumbly at and nodded. “Yeah. had to lock myself in my room for a while to catch up on all that work I missed over break.” Not that locking himself in with his cat did much to alleviate any distractions. It was like Chase knew he was trying to do work, and would purposefully lay all over his parchment, and trying to play with his quill while Fade was furiously writing.

It made more sense now, knowing that English wasn’t ’s first language. She was doing pretty well with it in his opinion. “That’s pretty cool. I love learning about different cultures.” He suddenly became somewhat nervous. “Er, if you need any pointers just leme know. This is only my second year, but I’ll try and help if I can. Like watch out for the loose stepping stones behind the boat house, some of them stick and like two of them try and fling you into the lake.”

When Gaia mentioned refreshments Fade suddenly realized how thirsty he was. He had spent so much time talking with everyone his throat was getting really dry. Nodding at Adrian () he grinned. “So far so good. It’s nice to have the free time.” He couldn’t help but laugh at the enthusiastic dance moves Ethel () was performing on the dance floor. Dance grass? Maybe after he had a drink or two he would be brave enough to ask someone to dance.

Following Gaia and Adrian towards the refreshment table he wandered down the line admiring the amazing display that the house elves had cooked up for them. Selecting a butterbeer and carefully picking up a liquorice snap he popped the candy into his mouth before it was able to pinch his hand, and chewed it happily.

"I think a full plate will be good for energy!" Gaia laughed handing Adrien () a plate. "You get the food and I'll get us drinks? I will try and find a table for us." Gaia was looking over shoulders and around people see if there were empty unused tables and found one. "Want to join us Fade?() I am going to see if I can find Aderyn and Emmy ( )" Gaia squeezed Adrien's hand and left to find some drinks and a table before he could say anything else. On her way to the table she saw Harper and Megan ( ) "After food we should take over the dance floor!" Gaia grinned and sat on a table to the side of the dance area.

"Yeah, Fade, join us!" He said as he offered his new friend a plate. For himself and Gaia, he grabbed a bit of everything on table and soon, the plates were completely filled. He waited for Fade and led the way to the table in the direction his date went. "Hey, ladies," he said as he passed by Harper and Megan, "Hope you two are having a good time!" Adrien approached the table and set Gaia's plate next to where she was sitting, "I grabbed a bit of everything for you, I hope that's okay," he said as he took his seat, waving Fade to their table. "Did you find Aderyn and Emmy?" he asked, turning his attention back to Gaia.

Sauvage thanked the girl profusely, not bothering to correct her guess of Sauvage's costume as she left the dance floor. She is kind of like a faerie, she supposed. Les sottises are just like French faeries...trouble-making, French faeries.

Sauvage gasped when Fade mentioned getting flung into the lake. "Oh my! I hope you don't know this from experience. And you're only a second year? I wouldn't have guessed. I don't know if I said already, but I'm a third year." Sauvage looked around at everyone at the ball. Far more people had poured in since talking to Fade. "Well, I'll leave you to catch up with some of your friends. Uh...." She trailed off, chewing her lip again. After a moment, she met Fade's blue eyes with her own hazel ones. "Maybe you can save me a dance for later?" She smiled, happy to have had the courage to ask someone to dance, and cocked her head coquettishly to the side. Before Fade could answer, Sauvage twirled around and scurried away to the apple-bobbing station.

Sauvage walked up to where the bobbing for apples event took place to find the girl with purple wings - Emmy, was it? - sleeping on the floor. Another girl whose head had been turned to a pumpkin stood beside her, Sauvage was pretty sure it was Emmy's girlfriend, but couldn't remember her name. And finally, among the other two stood Judy, happily munching away at an apple. Sauvage couldn't help but bubble with laughter; between the giggles she managed to turn to the triumphant apple-eater () and said, "So, I take it you won this round?"

"Got it. Never get the fudge again," he laughed as she moved it onto his plate. "Dig in, we gotta keep our energy up for the rest of the ball," he said with a wink. He pulled a goblet of pumpkin juice close and took a sip as surveyed the ball from the table. He snorted at the sight at apple bobbing corner. "Gaia, I found Aderyn and Emmy... I don't think they were as lucky as their friend was with the apples they got." Everyone was so nicely dressed tonight, Adrien was impressed at the turnout. He casually turned his gaze back to his date and smiled as he saw her munching on her treats as she looked out on the dance floor.

Poppy was excited by the prospect of bobbing for apples until she watched Emmy () fall into a dead sleep and Aderyn () grow a pumpkin in place of her head.

Judy () lucked out and suffered no ill effects.

She flung her braid over her shoulder and set her sights on a ruby red apple that was shaped like a heart. It kept slipping away from her lips until she leaned in closer and used her teeth. Poppy picked up her head with the apple triumphantly in her mouth. "I'll have to reapply my makeup," she thought. The fruit was crispy and sweet. Eating it reminded her to have a real dinner.

Poppy saw Adrien () gallantly helping into a chair. "Is there room for one more at this table?"

Gaia beamed and then noticed Adrien () looking at her and blushed "I have to remember to eat like a lady tonight." Picking a fork to stab a ham too big for her mouth, laugh, and eat it without a care in the world. Looking up at Adrien and holding her laughter while her cheeks were full of food looking like a sparkling squirrel.

"Thank you ! I'm having a lot of fun. It's nice to dress up like this and mingle. I've met some really lovely people tonight."

Poppy sighed wistfully as she watched the Ravenclaw girl blush prettily as she caught her date's eye.

"Hmm, now what do I want to eat? It all looks so good," she said.

() Gaia swallowed her food and started laughing "If you are not sure what to get you can try some of the things on my plate! Adrien really load me up. It is almost like he can see into my super hungry soul! The elves outdid themselves this time!" Gaia grabbed a strawberry from her plate.

"What happened about me?" she asked confusedly, shaking her head to clear it. Eventually she remembered the apple she'd chosen, now lying several feet away on the ground, and she laughed. "Oops. Guess I chose the wrong one."

She looked up at the person standing over her, with a pumpkin for a head, and stared for a moment before she realized the clothes were Aderyn's.

"Addy?" She asked, trying to hold back a laugh.

"Yum, thanks!" Poppy helped herself from 's plate. A passing server dressed as a pirate helpfully offered her a drink.

"Do you two () () want dinner? Um, can Aderyn eat?"

Adrien smiled as Gaia blushed and turned to greet their guest, "Hey, Poppy! Yes, there's always room. Come! Sit with us!" He turned back to Gaia to catch her with squirrel-cheeks and busted out laughing. "The prettiest squirrel I've ever seen. You don't have to worry about eating all lady-like, hun, just eat, I know you're hungry!" He returned his attention to Poppy. "I would recommend everything too! The elves really did their thing tonight, everything is delicious!" He picked up his favorite treat, a pumpkin pasty, and took a bite out of it.

Poppy noticed a savory aroma coming from the mini pumpkin next to their gingerbread cottage centerpiece. She examined it closely and noticed that it had a lid. "I think I found the soup and I think you'll like it Adrien ()."

"What do you think of this ball compared to the first one ?"

She was sure she was blushing is a deep red color while her mouth was slightly open. Grabbing her butterbeer and washing down her food she looked at Poppy () "The spring rolls are delicious and refreshing! Why wouldn't Aderyn be able to eat?" Gaia was curious and stole a strawberry from Adrien's plate.

"I'm not even sure if she () can speak with that pumpkin head , but we'll find out for sure when she comes over here. Hopefully it'll wear off soon. She bobbed for her apple right after Emmy (), who's awake now." Poppy munched on a spring roll. "These are amazing."

"Thanks and I don't think they know," said Hannah.

"Your right, lets dance!" said Caleb pulling Gwen aside and taking her to the middle of the dance floor and took her hand in his, then danced with the beat of the music.

"It's nice to meet you too Megan! Yes we have been enjoying it, I hope you have too! Sure we will join you! Uhh Caleb? He must have slipped away." said Hannah looking around for him.

() Gaia laughed and covered her mouth in an attempt to stop herself. "Well the effects are temporary. She should be able to eat pretty soon. I think this Ball seems more lively than the last one. The new students have brought a spark with them! I also didn't get to dance as much last time and I had trouble with my dress. What do you think? I think having the ball outside was a genius idea."

"That soup smells delicious!" He sighed - he was a sucker for pumpkin. He went to reach for a strawberry only to grab air and noticed Gaia pop something red into her mouth. "Hey! That was mine!" He laughed out. "I'll go get you some more; I'm going to grab one of those pumpkin soups. Excuse me, ladies!" Adrien stood up from his chair and hurried back over to the food tables.
