"I'm sure we'll find the two before the night's over," he said, looking at , "Or we can go search right now? I overheard that we had to ask three people of different houses a question, and they could help us out with that. Then we can all chill and enjoy the night! We could even go over to the Harpy, Aderyn, and Emmy ( ). Either way, ladies first; lead the way!"

() "Megan you look great! I love your wings!! How are you liking the party so far? Would you like to get some punch?" Gwen is firing off questions but then realizes what she is doing... she stops and takes a breath, she is just so excited to be here.

() "I think it would be fun to be something small. Maybe a cat... I think they probably have very easy lives. I would enjoy sleeping all day some days."

() "That would be awesome, we can see if there are any in my collection that you need and we can swap. But you do not have to go up now, we are at a ball." Gwen blushes and shuffles her feet. "Would you like to dance maybe?"

"Thanks," she replied to , "I'm not very good at dancing, but I've been practising so I'm hoping to try out my skills." She smiled before adding, "I'm Paddy." She turned around as someone gave her a hug, "you look incredible, Poppy (), "and those glass slippers are perfect!"

Looking around, she spotted another student she hadn't met before, and made her way over to them. "I love your dress, it compliments the wing colours really well" she said (), "I'm Paddy by the way, what's your name?"

Sam's () dancing lessons with Magnus () had obviously paid off, as she looked surprisingly confident. Paddy made her mind up to dance at least once during the ball, and to at least talk to as many people as possible between dances, no matter how awkward that felt.

"Hey Fade" she said, recognising him as he passed, "that looks like a perfect outfit."

Ethel had been to exactly zero balls in her life, so the prospect of attending her first one had her caught between desperately excited and utterly nervous. She'd ended up pacing across the length of the Ravenclaw common room after waving Gaia off for a good long while before she worked up the courage to actually leave.

Then there was the perilous journey to the ball itself, with Ethel tottering along in her very fancy and very impractical heeled sandals. By the time she joined the milling group of students she'd gotten the hang of balancing on them and didn't feel quite so alarmed with each step. Luckily, she happened to spot Adrien and Gaia before too long and quickly hurried over to them.

"Oh hello! Don't both of you look lovely. They really went all out, didn't they?"

Adrien turned to see Ethel hurrying towards them, and waved at her. "Hey, Ethel! You look wonderful, and you're right, they did go all out, it's amazing, though. They really stuck to the theme really well," he said while admiring the scenery around him. "How are you this evening?"

"Why thank you, kind sir," she said to Adrien, and gave him a little twirl for effect. The skirt of her dress fluttered around in response and prompted a pleased grin from her. "I was horribly nervous until I got here. I've never been to a ball before! Have you?"

Gaia spotted and waved "You look amazing!" She yelled over the noise at her friend.

"I am the Snow Queen! My gown is Elsa-inspired. I almost wore the White Witch's icicle crown but I thought it was a bit much."

"You're lucky to have such nice natural color. It doesn't look damaged at all."

"Thank you lovely! Come find me on the dance floor later ok?"

Poppy accepted a goblet of sparking punch from a scantily clad server dressed as a wood nymph. "This is delicious! You two make such a pretty pair."

He laughed as she spun around. "Don't be nervous, you're around friends! I have been to a few balls before," he nodded in response. "My father works for the Ministries of Magic in Britain and in France, so we attend those when he's required to be there. They never were like this though, this is much more enjoyable." Adrien shook his head and gave a little shudder. "At those balls, you have to wear really stuffy traditional robes and look as proper as possible, it's torture!"

"Oooh," she said once Adrien had finished. "That sounds fabulously fancy. I can imagine how formal and stiff ministry balls are with all of the important type people that go to them..." Then she paused, thinking over what she'd just said. "Not that we're not all important! Everyone is important!"

Ethel slung a companionable arm around Gaia's shoulder and gave her a quick squeeze. "Thanks Gaia! You look smashing as well. Your dress was made for dancing!"

Megan smiles at Hannah. "hi Hannah, it's lovely to meet you!" She turns to the other two, "Its lovely to meet you as well Caleb, Demeogo. Are you enjoying the party thus far?" she asked, taking a sip of her butterbeer.

Gwen's excitement is infectious and as she babbles away Megan grins into her cup. "Oh, Gwen, thank you so much! You look fantastic as well!" she beams. "I'm very much liking the theme this term. I already have butterbeer but I wouldn't mind some punch as well! Would you like to come with us?" she asks Hannah, Caleb and Demeogo.

As she prepares to head back to the table, a new student she hadn't met before comes up to her and compliments her on her dress and introduces themselves as . "Oh, hello!" she blushes a bit at the compliment. "I'm Megan, thank you so much for the compliment!" she took in Paddy's costume, impressed. "Your costume is brilliant! Would you like to join us for punch?"

She had a feeling that the main band's music might be better for dancing than the bagpipes, since she didn't know any traditional dances.

"Thanks!" Emmy said, blushing slightly, as Poppy complimented her and Aderyn. "I wanted to dress more like a fairy, since she IS part one..." Emmy smiled and nudged her date.

"That sounds like a great idea Emmy. Beathan Sutherland is very talented but I would rather listen to his music than dance to it. I bet someone else here has grown up taking Highland dance lessons though."

"Yeah, it's really stiff in the ministry gatherings period," he said, wrinkling his nose a little bit. He laughed a little and smiled in a agreement when Ethel said everyone was important. "You're right! And right now it's time for some very important people to go dancing," he beamed, seeing Gaia's eyes lit up when Ethel had mentioned her dress seemed made for it.

() Gaia bounced in place excited at the words. She almost dragged Adrien to the dance floor but reminded herself she is a pretty lady today. Smoothing her dress she bowed her head a little to Ethel and winked giving her friend a grin "See you in a few minutes!" () On her way she spotted Megan () and winked at her friend "You look amazing! Save me a dance!" as called over her shoulder as she waved bye.

"Sure. An extension charm is pretty handy. Have you tried bobbing for apples yet? ()

(OOC: Oopsie. My bad! I knew that. Let's pretend Beth didn't mention the Peter Pan comment. ;) ) "Hey Aderyn(), Kendra ()!" Beth waved them over to her. "Would you mind if I took a picture of you two and Caleb, Hannah and Deme? It'd perfect for the yearbook."

Beth waved hello to (). "I love your outfit. You have great taste. I'm Beth Hale. Ravenclaw," she told her with a smile. "What do you think of the ball so far?"

Beth turned back to Fade () and replied, "Yes, I am Snow White. Don't cut yourself short. I think you're more charming than you think. How have you been lately? It feels like I haven't seen you in ages."

Adrien laughed and grabbed hold of his crown as Gaia dragged him to the dance floor. "I never knew you were this excited about dancing!" he managed to laugh out. He waved bye to Ethel and gave a passing smile to Megan as they made their way to the dance floor. "Look," he pointed out to Gaia as they arrived, "Sam's lessons with Magnus seemed to turn out really well," he said as he motioned to his friends dancing across the floor.

Sauvage recognized the beautiful girl waving at her in all white, having seen her mingling about other students earlier. After hearing Beth's compliment, she smiled brightly. "Thanks so much! It took me ages to get the wings right." With that, she impishly fluttered her feathers, unabashedly showing off. "And I must say, you make an elegant Snow White." Sauvage returned Beth's warm smile and said, "My name is Sauvage Chevaux. I'm in Hufflepuff. And...I really like the ball so far. So many beautiful people that I don't know!" She giggled. "And all so kind, too. I can't wait for the main band to come out. It's hard to dance to bagpipes. What about you? How's your night been so far?"

"I haven't yet but I'm about to in a bit with Aderyn () and Emmy (). Would you like to join us?"
