"Oh, I'm not uncomfortable," Sauvage explained. "I just wasn't prepared for the question and you caught me off-guard." She thought for a minute on what to say. "I feel like I've been telling everyone the same stories about me all night. Hmmm....ooh! How about this? When I was two years old, I went out to my granny's garden and burrowed into a small hole. Every time someone tried to pull me out I would start screaming at the top of my lungs until they put me back down. I was going through a mandrake root phase. Kind of random, but it's something I haven't told anyone else here." She smiled at Max and shrugged her shoulders.

Millie walked over to the refreshment table and picked up two cold butterbeers and brought them back to the table. "I hope this is okay. I usually prefer mine hot but I needed something cold"

"Oh vanilla cream soda. I'm partial to cherry soda myself but that looks good"

Max was relieved. "Ohh ok I am glad I didn´t make you feel uncomfortable." Max listened to Sauvages story "ohhh wow that sounds very rebellious." Max laughed. "Well I don´t really know what to tell you about myself I mean I like cars and I am from L.A. I know not very exciting." "Are you from the UK ??"

So given that the ball was going to be drawing to a close soon, she decided it was time to take the plunge. The music was a particularly rhythmic tune, so leaving the relative 'safety' of the group of people by the food, she found a gap in the mass of dancers and immediately forgetting all of Magnus and Gaia's tuition, just started moving to the beat of the music, trying to ignore everyone else around her in case she felt too self-conscious to continue.

OOC the mandrake phase story is the cutest thing ever!!!! irl I like to bury my feet in dirt or sand when I am gardening...still do every once in awhile...feels SOOOO good!! :D

Gaia noticed on the dance floor and left the refreshments table at a quick pace. "May I join you?" she said to Paddy grinning and dancing like a silly plant under water. "I think it is time to let lose and not have a care in the world." Gaia was swinging around to the beat of the music laughing and encouraging Paddy.

Millie got up and went back to the refreshment table and grabbed a for everyone. She reached over into the box of cookies and started to eat one. "Yeah, my feet are starting to hurt. And I need some cookies in my life right now" she giggled.

Millie waved to Paddy from the table. She was happy to finally see Paddy out on the dance floor.

Sauvage sat up in her seat, "From LA? As in Los Angeles? I don't know, that's pretty cool if you ask me. I'm originally from Montpellier, France. I used to attend Beauxbatons until a few months ago when I transferred here. What brought you to Hogwarts?"

Paddy grinned at "feel free," she said, pleased that her friend was willing to dance like a crazy person. Catching sight of Millie out of the corner of her eye, she waved back (). She turned her back on the refreshments area as she danced, determined to not stop until either she ran out of energy, she trod on too many toes, or the end of the ball, whichever came first.

"I gotta say Im proud of myself that I havent retreated back to the dorms yet. *sifts through the cookies to find one she can eat, then notices , she had seen her before but hadnt introduced herself. She went into her normal quiet/shy mode that she went into with new people.

Max laughed a bit. "Yeah, yeah Los Angeles. Ohhh ok I understand. Well about that I am not really sure why they wanted me at Hogwarts when we got the letter my godfather was so confused. He was like what the hell is Hogwarts. It was a bit of a shock for both of us." "Why did you transfer to Hogwarts ??" Max grabbed one of the cookies () Millie had brought.

"I transferred here mostly to be with my parents. They both lost their jobs working with the Ministry of Magic in France so they came here to get new ones. Now, my mom uses her herbology skills helping a couple maintain their shop in Diagon Alley and my dad is a curse breaker for the Ministry of Magic here." She looked around the room at everyone and everything going on and said, almost to herself, "I'm really starting to like it here."

OOC: I'm sorry for not being active, I had to go away on a week-long business trip and just got back yesterday. i hope everything is going well and everyone is having fun!

As twirled her around, Paddy noticed another student stood near Millie (). She was sure she'd seen her before, but couldn't place her name so she doubted she'd actually met her. Wondering if any others were going to join them, she smiled at Gaia's dance moves. "That's not something you covered in your dance lessons" she laughed, starting to feel more relaxed with the whole 'dancing' thing.

Magnus had taken a swig of his butterbeer. He'd been dancing the entire time for the most part, but seeing Paddy he crossed over and said, "Would you care for a dance? I enchanted me shoes. Just step on 'em and I'll do all the work."

"you should know a teacher doesn't just give out the secrets..." Gaia gave a mischievous grin "she shows them!" Gaia held her arms out and was ready to do a classic twirl instead she busted out with the muggle dance "the dougie" swaying from side to side like it was nothing. "what are you waiting for? Join me!" Gaia winked.

Paddy paused as started doing a really weird dance. Suddenly uncertain about her dancing ability, she was interrupted from her thoughts by Magnus () asking for a dance. "Sure," she replied to Magnus, casting a quick grin to Gaia who was still happily dancing, "I've been practising a bit, so I'm willing to try dancing properly.... if you don't mind the potential of getting your toes getting trodden on."

Max listened to Sauvages story carefully. "Ohh I am really sorry to hear that about your parents. I hope the Uk is treating them better." "I still remember when I send my godfather my first letter by owl it was a desaster. We own a garage because he is a car mechanic and the owl just caught him off guard he wanted to shoot it. The garage was a mess after that." Max laughed at the thought it was still funny thinking about it.

Sauvage nodded and giggled, listening to Max's story. "That would be awkward. So does that mean your godfather (godparents?) didn't know you had magic? Sorry if this is an insensitive question but, how did they take the news?"
