'Thanks' Ernessa said tugging self consciously at the lace of her dress, 'I was going for an evil queen look'
silver comes rushing in with and with out of breath speech says sorry, had a wardrobe malfunction, with getting so hot in the party my body paint had started running and making a huge mess ( dripping green isnt much fun ) so my elphaba costume had to be changed, into a fairy one, no body paint here
"Hey, there's nothing wrong with hanging out in a new crowd. I'm really glad you're hear actually. I think you might be the first upperclassmen I've met today. Any perks that I don't know about?" She finished her eclair, dabbing the corners of her mouth with a napkin, she continued, "And I'm having a wonderful night. The music been great and everyone had been so welcoming. Plus, the food. Oh my goodness, this food!" And with that, she snagged a pumpkin pastie from her plate.
Sauvage smiled with chipmunk cheeks, puffed out from the too-big bite of pumpkin pastie in her mouth. She finished chewing and greeted the girl who just sat down. "Hi, Ernessa! My name is Sauvage. I love the 'evil queen' look. Not many people can pull it off, but you certainly do. Uh..." She pointed hesitantly at the bird on Ernessa's shoulder. "Is that real?"
Sauvage idly wondered where Fade had run off to. She remembered their promised dance and began fidgeting in her seat, hoping he would turn up again soon.
Megan overheard Beth invite the others to eat and smiled to herself; it appeared her disappearance to find food had gone unnoticed by a few people. She waved at the group from her table.
( @ everyone else. {OOC- I am seriously out it lately guys, I'm so sorry.} )

Ernessa smiled shyly, 'it must be the vampire in me, it's much easier to look evil with pale skin and dark eyes', she then picked up a piece of pie, took a bite and chewed on it enthusiastically, 'this food is fantastic!'
Professor Morgan, having finally had a wizarding fairytale come to mind, cleared her throat and began to recite the tale. She glared a little at Caswell for a few seconds while she began.
"In France, there is a story about ancient winged folk collectively known as les sottises – the Mischief. They are not immortals, but their kind live for several human lifetimes before they even begin to experience age. And with so much time on their hands, the Mischief often enjoy passing such time by messing with the fate of others, both muggle and magical alike. Many are aware of the existence of the Mischief, but they are cloaked in invisibility and remain unseen by mortal eyes. Alas, this story is not about the Mischief though; it is about the only woman in history who has overcome the Mischief and paid a heavy price by doing so.
"This woman was Constance. She was destined by the stars to be with a man named Henry, an apprentice auror, whom loved her deeply in return. Constance was born of nobility though, and worse Henry was muggle-born, a breed that her parents refused to acknowledge as truly magical. The Mischief took a peculiar liking to the life of Constance; being a noble, her life should have been rather mundane: courting likeable gentleman, practicing standard magic expected of a woman, all while maintaining classic hobbies to entertain the interest of those around her. And yet, Constance did none of these things. She hated balls and dancing and meeting 'other likeable people', but not nearly as much as she hated being told what to do.
"One day, the Mischief introduced a man named Gerard into Constance's life. He was perfect... for her parents, who insisted that she give him her hand in marriage. Just as the Mischief had expected, Constance refused to marry this man. That same night, Constance snuck away from her home under a fog she'd created in order to find Henry. She knew that he would run away with her; they’d discussed it numerous times before – something the Mischief were fully aware of. When Constance ran into Henry’s home, panting heavily and on the brink of tears, she didn't notice the woman sitting on Henry’s bed. Not at first, at least. Her name was Aimée; Henry had met her just a few days ago. Truthfully, it was the Mischief’s doing that Aimée came waltzing Henry’s life on the very same day that Gerard met Constance’s parents.
"Constance had heard of the Mischief, an old wives' tale told by mothers to their children in order to excuse the inexplicable wavering of another's heart. She knew that the only thing that could change Henry's heart, aside from herself, was powerful magic that came from an unknown source. She knew that if she destroyed Aimée, she would destroy the hold that the Mischief had over Henry's heart. And in due time she could heal him and he would grow to understand the disturbance of his kidnapped heart. All she had to do with kill Aimée. And the Mischief were counting on it.
"Constance charmed Henry's and Aimée eyes so they could not see what she was about to do. She sat in the middle of Henry's home, where she had so many blissful memories of their love, and she cried. She cried as she told him how happy she was for him. And she continued to perform the mirage of a grateful woman as she hugged Henry and gave her blessings, waiting to lift the charm until she had left the house. But she had not acted accordingly to how the Mischief wanted. For the Mischief were enraged by Constance's decision to not act on her own selfish deeds and to refuse the Mischief of such satisfaction. In return, the Mischief transformed Constance into a small blonde hair on the head of Aimée so that for the rest of her life, Constance could see the one she loved while he loved someone else. And although she felt pain for what she had lost, Constance was never unhappy for Henry, because he lived the rest of his days with the one he loved and, unknowingly, with the one who couldn’t possible love him more."
(OOC note: Thank you for the great story! Just a reminder, you can submit your stories until the end of the ball on Sunday. Two more stories will be chosen--one on Saturday, and one on Sunday. Good luck all!)
Note regarding Arborea's Missing Items challenge
It appears that photobucket, the site I host my images on, is down! So all of my images are currently broken. Since the missing items challenge depends on the images working, I'm going to reupload them to another site so you can see them.
[edit]Hmm... I seem to be having issues getting the images to post here from ANY site. Anyone have any they know work? [edit]They seem to be working again, yay!
"Ooohh..." Sauvage's eyes went wide as she dipped her head closer to Ernessa. "You're part vampire? How much? What's it like?" She bit her lip apologetically and said, "Sorry. I don't mean to intrude. If you don't want to answer that's fine. I've never met a vampire, or someone part-vampire before."
OOC
Imgur is the best when hosting images to post on Subeta I've noticed. Its free and very easy to use. :)

Ernessa laughed, 'it's fine, I'm used to the questions,' she put down her pie and focused on Sauvage, 'my father is a full vampire, he was born in the 1700s, he fell in love with my mother who was human, unfortunately she died in childbirth, I imagine giving birth to a vampire would be difficult, my father never quite recovered from it.' Ernessa cleared her throat, 'anyway, being part vampire isn't too bad, I've always struggled with anaemia which sucks but it has it's perks as well, I seem to be able to subtly influence people's actions', Ernessa leaned in closer so that the professors couldn't hear, 'which makes handing in homework optional'. Laughing, Ernessa picked up her piece of pie again.
(OOC: I actually tried to use imgur and had no luck... the images were still broken!)
Sauvage cast her eyes downward at the mention of Ernessa's late mother and mumbled an apology. The 'symptoms' (for lack of a better word) of being part-vampire were very intriguing. Sauvage laughed aloud with Ernessa when at the optional homework comment. "Really? That sounds useful, but...dangerous. I'm not sure I would ever actually do my homework. So...what's your favorite class?" Sauvage turned back to her plate, eyeing what to nibble on next. She decided on the sausage bites.
( OOC Oh no. D: I'm not sure why it would be like that. Are you trying to upload from your computer for from image url? )

(OOC: I just used imgur to upload my HA contest entry and it worked fine for me!)
'I really only use that talent in emergencies, like if I'm out all night playing quidditch. My favourite class is definitely potions, I just love that feeling of accomplishment when the potion turns out just like it should. How about you?'
"Ah!" Sauvage jumped excitedly in her seat, then sheepishly sunk back. "Sorry, I just got excited. My favorite class is potions, too! I just love when a potion comes out just right. Experimenting with potions is a hobby of mine."
'It's a hobby of mine too! I was always mixing random things together as a child, consequently I was constantly missing my eyebrows! My dad was so mad.'
and whomever else "Is everyone finished dancing and having their food digest? If so, who wants to go back out and dance?" Millie was starting to stand and she gave a hopeful look to everyone at the table
Megan set down her napkin, took another sip of her butterbeer then stood up. "I'll join you," she said to Millie and grabbed her hand to make their way back to the dance floor.
