[-Guru] No, I am not.
Staff wouldn't intentionally mislead people with inaccurate dates, but that's what happens when updates are given without knowing the full story. It's frustrating to me that people demand so much transparency and communication then get upset when the preliminary date they give is wrong.
Hooray for peace of mind! Totally worth the extra patience.
This is awesome news. I am so sorry that your holiday was affected by this. I hope that you at least took SOME time to celebrate? But I appreciate all your hard work and loyalty and devotion to this site. No matter how long it takes, we know how hard you are working. Thank you.

doesn't work with staff and is not staff but I know they are pretty familiar/possibly even close friends with some staff and I trust what they say when I ask them questions about certain things. They have never mislead me or given me false information about things. I actually find them to be one of the most helpful users around site...Battling is a area they know a lot about for example as well as other things. Even having almost 9 years under my belt like I do, I still don't know everything about subeta and has been great and always has valuable feedback that they offer in a respectful manner.
It's interesting to see how many people are thrilled to see people actually doing their job. That speaks volumes to me about lowered expectations these days.
While I'm happy to know that Subeta staff are trying hard to get the situation resolved, I'd be much happier to know that they're working even harder to ensure this doesn't happen again. Once is bad luck, twice is coincidence, three times is a trend. We're well into trend territory here when it comes to things going pearshaped.
this happened to be bad luck. I'm certain if the right script had been run, we would not have had this problem. even though duplication has happened in previous years, it is for a different reason this time.
- parts of it were bad luck, yes. Parts of it were poor planning about leaving someone in charge with the tools to be able to make some changes to code if needed. Like I said in my earlier statement, at some point it comes down to being prepared for things to go wrong. Sure, nobody can anticipate a DDOS attack, but some of the other issues over the past year or so could have been prevented with better preparation. I'd hope some lessons were learned. I like the site and want to see it get better.
~ Alight, I was just wondering ~
That just as well may be true, regarding not intentionally misleading users with the inaccurate dates. If they didn't know the full story, maybe it should have been handled/worded in a different way. Maybe excluding the timeline. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and chances are more than likely that everyone won't agree. Yes, the gifts may be safe and secured. However, for me, it's just about celebrating on the day itself and moving onto the New Year.[br clear=all]
On the contrary, it's a reason to keep the excitement and anticipation going. :) Of course it's unfortunate that it happened in the first place, and I wouldn't hope for it to happen again. Now that it has, though, I don't mind taking the opportunity to stretch that holiday cheer a bit longer!
For the record, I can respect that people have different opinions on it, I just wanted to point out that the other side of this is that some people will enjoy having more to look forward to.
Thank you, I try to be accepting of other people's opinions, but it rankles me to see people first complain about no updates from staff, then complain that they aren't happy with the updates that were given. Of course each time staff gave an update (that people were constantly demanding) they gave as accurate a time-frame as they could at that time. Things kept happening though, and more info was still being discovered. Staff has acted as best they could this entire time.
~ I completely understand the other side ~ :D ~

Thanks for the update. I am happy every gift will have a name attached. It's just normal to be a bit sad that there was such a hiccup for Luminaire this year. But, looking at that bright light at the end of the tunnel. Looking forward to when the trees open. <3
lol, that's exactly what I was thinking. I'll refrain to post what I think about the whole situation cause I don't wanna deal with all the enthusiasts on this thread but I agree with [-Guru], Christmas is long gone and it won't be the same getting my presents at the end of this week. I would have preferred the site to be down for a couple of days and have this fixed with a rollback instead.shrugs
I'm not angry at anybody involved, but this was the first occasion I've ever celebrated by buying a gift of CSC for somebody and it's definitely the last. I thought the Luminaire trees were a really cute way to give Christmas gifts to fellow Subeta users, but in practical application it means I'm behind on my Christmas gifts by over a week! D: I should have just sent the CSC directly, or bought another kind of gift card.
So I'm not very happy, but that's only because of how much real money I've spent on this. I wasn't one of the people who were affected by the no-names-attached bug so the further delay is bad news to me, though I know it's good for others. :(
That´s wonderful news, I am very happy! <3 Thank you so much! ^-^

You're a bad bitch, Grace!! ^_^
Ps - can somebody give me the gifts given link???
Better late than never! 8D
Forgetting something doesn't make you unlucky.
Read the post I'm replying to, I'm drawing a parallel to what was said. And doesn't it make you unlucky? If she were lucky, she would have remembered. Sure you can use other words to describe it, but it doesn't really mean that the less critical words are wrong. Either way it's semantic.
