On the 11th day of Christmas I give to you...

The Velveteen Rabbit

This isn&;t really a Holiday movie, but as a child I used to watch this short film every Christmas. I don&;t think I realized why I liked it so munch until I was older. Watching it now, it makes complete sense.

This movie is all about the power of love. Let&;s face it, that&;s really what the holidays are all about. The Velveteen Rabbit shows us that you aren&;t really real until someone loves you.

Just because you and I know each other via the internet, doesn&;t mean that you aren&;t real to me.

So take half a hour today and watch this movie and let it warm your heart knowing that someone out there does love you, and that you are very much real to them. <3
Aw, cute !

I absolutely adore the Christmas fairy. Everyone morning I look forward to pouring a cup of coffee and enjoying the gift she sent out. This morning was more special than most. The Velveteen Rabbit is one of my favorite stories ever for the same reasons our lovely Fairy posted. It's message has always resonated with me, since I was a little girl.

Thank you, Christmas Fairy. For everything.

Thank you Christmas Fairy. You are just too cute. I am loving all of the messages with the gifts. It sure has me enjoy my morning coffee a bit more. I always can't wait to see what the message will be today. Is it a link to a fun game, or something I can share with my kids and family. Thank you very much CF!! squishes <3

Aww, the Velveteen Rabbit book always made me cry. I would get so sad about the Scarlet Fever part because it totally felt like it could happen. But my book had like a rabbit finger puppet and it was awesome. D:

I'm working on my alphabet game, the first draft is hilarious to me in how awful it is. D:

That movie is so good. I haven't seen it in forever and boy does it bring back the memories =)

Here is my alphabet game. I tried to go for words, but phrases came to mind more for some of them x)

hmmm a favorite recipe of mine. I have a few of those. which one do I want to post, that is the question.

Garlic Chicken over Pasta

cut two chicken breasts in half so they are thin Melt a tablespoon of butter in a deep saucer pan add in 2 tablespoons of minced garlic...or as much garlic as you like add in your chicken sprinkle with basil and oregano and a dash of salt cook chicken till brown add in 1-1 1/2 of chicken broth(more if you want a lot of sauce) lower heat, cover and let simmer for 10 minutes in a small container use two tablespoons of cornstarch and chicken broth to thicken up your sauce once the 10 minutes are up, take out the chicken, add in the cornstarch mix thicken up the sauce, add in the chicken

while the chicken and broth are simmering cook your pasta. I usually use thin spaghetti or linguini

place as much sauce as you want on your sauce on your pasta and chicken and enjoy. super yummy.

Thanks CF for yesterday and today! The punch sounds yummy and seems like it would look pretty. I can't do lemonade straight but maybe in with the ginger ale and cranberry juice it would be diluted enough to enjoy :)

I'm sorry I've not had time for the alphabet or to watch the show yet. I will totally try to do both soon. Been super busy. Well, I know you understand busy this time of year. ❤️

Thank you so much for all the gifts, Fairy! You are AWESOME! :D

Here's my recipe!

Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

 • Soft butter (100 grams)
 • Sugar (100 grams)
 • 1 Egg
 • Vanilla essence (1 spoonful)
 • Instant Oatmeal (150 grams)
 • Self-rising flour (150 grams)
 • Sunflower seeds, linen seeds, grated apple and/or raisins, etc! Add anything you want and the quantity you want.
 • Milk (3 poonfuls)

• Add the ingredients in the order shown above, mixing every time (Example: add the butter, add the sugar, mix, add the egg, mix, and so on). • Bake at 180 ºC degrees for approximately 15 minutes.

Tada! 🎉 I always get around 14 cookies, but it depends on the size you give them C:

NOTE: Before putting the cookies on the oven, you can sprinkle them some sugar and/or cinnamon, which is delicious 😍

Excuse my English, I translated this recipe xD

A Recipe Exchange! well..sorta anyway. Depending on who participates and posts to the forum :D

I love trying new recipes. Baking and cooking always makes me happy.

So what I&;m asking is for you to post one of your favourite recipes. It doesn&;t have to be holiday related.

I&;ll start things off with one of my favourite things to have at holiday parties!

Christmas Punch

1 Can Frozen Cranberry Cocktail

1 Can Frozen Pink Lemonade

1 Chilled 2 ltr Bottle of Gingerale

1 Ice Ring

In a Punch Bowl, add both cans of frozen drink with one can each of cold water. Mix well. Add in gingerale and mix again.

To keep cool, place Ice Ring in the punch once guests arrive.

To make Ice Ring, I use a bunt cake pan, pour in water about half way. I usually add fruits. Strawberries, raspberries, cranberries or orange slices. You can add all, or just one kind. Place in freezer over night. To remove from bunt pan, place in sink full of cold water for 1 min. It should slide out into the punch easily!

I hope you get the chance to try it out and enjoy! Now lets see what you have to share with the rest of us! :D

<3
That sounds delicious ! I do a chocolate pecan pie, where I use the filling recipe from Betty Crocker (not the pastry, I have my own recipe for that). But before that I coat the bottom with chocolate ganache (1 part dark chocolate chips, 1 part heavy cream). When I fill the pies the ganache mixes with the pecan filling, giving a nice swirl. I know, a pastry chef without his own pecan pie recipe... But really, I haven't figured out how to improve the classic :p

Here's one of my favourite holiday time cookies. It reminds me more of the Thanksgiving holiday, but they aren't too hard to make and I like them. I use dried cranberries instead of cherries. Here's the link.

That light show is incredible! I can't even imagine the amount of work that went into stringing those lights, let alone programming them!

My recipe is one that I'm dying to try but looks really good I think. I credit Sobey's. Click for bigger
