"Owls are magical creatures of magic." Giggles " Rowan feel free to borrow Ares, one of my owls, we use him to help people get adjusted to the weight and grip of the owls. Grab one of my arm protectors here" she pointed at her box "and here are some treats. He is really sweet, but don't let him fool you he is crazy about his treats and will take them from you when you aren't looking." Gaia returned to her boxes but turned around "Oh and Rowan? I always notice people. Your energy is strong. Grin.

"Sure thing," Magnus said, "they are amazing people." and him arrived back to the group in time for Rowan () to slip beside them. "'Ullo," Magnus said smiling. He heard her say something about a werewolf but she couldn't have overheard, right? "Dogs huh?" he said absent-mindedly.

Fade’s eyes grew big at the idea of not one, but three unicorns. really had to be one of the luckiest people on earth. “Er, once yeah. But I was really little and now it’s hard to remember if it was a dream or not…” He trailed off feeling sort of dumb for not being able to remember properly. Honestly he didn’t know why he bothered to open his mouth half the time.

Timidly, Fade glanced around the group and paused when his eyes fell on . Was that fur? Curiosity getting the better of him, he inched closer to try and get a better look. Perhaps she had just mismanaged a polyjuice potion. Would it be incredibly rude of him to ask?

() "Oh, it is said that unicorns showing up in dreams means purity. Maybe even a lucky omen. I can look it up for you if you want. My dad's great aunt used to help people with their dreams. It is really interesting."

Gaia looked around for the parchment being passed around. "Anyone else missing the sign up?"

Paddy spotted looking in her direction, but tried to concentrate on what Gaia was saying about her owls. She wasn't sure she was ready for everyone else to know her secret just yet (or possibly at all), but she was more eager to find out what creatures they were going to see, and how they might react to her.

She caught Magnus ()'s eye as Rowan mentioned something about werewolves, and tried to change the subject onto something a little less controversial. "Cairn terriers sound like great pets" she said to , "Drifter looks really cute".

Well, she'd gone and done it again. Putting her foot in her mouth was Rowan's specialty.

She could just hear her aunt going on: "Much success at Hogwart's, dear. You're bound to be a really good little witch. You're very bright and you have great skills, except with people. Social skills matter, dear. They really do. Just start each day repeating that phrase I gave you over and over."

Why hadn't she listened? Just because she has really keen ears didn't mean she had to repeat what she said! And now Gaia had caught on to her, too! Strong energy? More like loud and tactless.

Falling in quietly with her two (hopefully) friends, she began to whisper what she should have started the day with:

"I must keep my big mouth shut! I must keep my big mouth shut! I must keep..."

He could sense () Rowan's sudden unease and realised she had overheard. Well damn. She better be the only one, he thought to himself. Bending low enough to give her a whisper that only she could here, "Don't tell anyone, please." Louder he said, "dogs and I don't get on well." His orange cat suddenly appeared and rubbed herself around his legs. Kippers was definitely trying to prove cats were better it seemed. "How's owning an owl?" he asked

"I don't blab like that. I just run my mouth, but I'm good at keeping secrets. Pinky swear," Rowan whispered to Magnus.

Aloud, she said. "Drifter's really friendly, though. He only growls when there's danger."

"It's pretty cool," she said to Magnus () "my Barn owl is really loyal and loves to deliver the post for me, especially if it's a box of owl treats that Uncle has sent. I've never met a cat before, as Dad reckoned he was allergic - what's Kippers like as a pet?"

She smiled warily at . Rowan seemed friendly enough, but she'd had some bad experiences with kids at her previous school once they realised her fur wasn't a costume. "Drifter would make an excellent guard dog then," she replied. Looking around, she decided that if Rowan knew Magnus' secret, then she might as well know her own. "I've not been around many dogs either," she whispered, "Uncle decided it was safer to only have owls, seeing as both of us are werewolves."

There, now three people knew - she just hoped that it wouldn't change Rowan's opinion of her, as she'd hate to lose a friend this quickly.

Fade shrugged . He didn't want to add anything to her workload, but he had a feeling refusing her offer was not going to be accepted. All things considered, it was something she would probably end up looking up anyway in her free time.

Fade may not have been the most perceptive, but he could tell when someone around him was uncomfortable. He also knew what it felt like to be stared at, and so pried his eyes from the fuzzy student (()) and bit his lip instead. There was a time and a place, and this didn't feel like the right moment to be getting all personal, especially because it wasn’t any of his business to begin with.

He was glad when the subject changed from unicorns to dogs. He liked dogs, even if he hadn’t ever lived with one. “My uncle has a few dogs. Never had one myself. Not sure if my cat would get on with one so well…” Realizing that he hadn’t introduced himself to the others he became fidgety. “I’m Fade, by the way. In Ravenclaw, with that one.” He motioned toward their team captain. “I don't think we've met.” He smiled softly at the other students (( )) despite the color he could feel rising in his cheeks.

Paddy smiled at Fade () he seemed pretty harmless, and she was sure that if she'd just spotted a furry student for the first time, she'd stare. Just as long as nobody asked her anything about the fur, or took the mickey, she was ok with it.... for the moment anyway. "Nice to meet someone from Ravenclaw" she said, "what's your cat called?"

( ) Gaia looked in the direction of a shift in energy and worried for a second before realizing something. These three would turn to be great friends and keepers of each others secrets. Gaia smiled at the thought.

() Giving her friend an encouraging smile Gaia returned to her work. Making a mental note to look for her dreams book.

[B]Addressing the club[/b] "Anyone interested in a particular creature from water? I notice many of you enjoy the kind that flies but what about the ones that swim?"

He nodded to Rowan happy she was going to keep it quite. "Neat," he said, "never had any pets till Kippers. Mum and Dad have an owl but it doesn't like me. Kippers does though. She follows me everywhere, sleeps with me in bed and loves chasing the gnomes around. The gnomes seem to think its a game, its like they taunt her. Its really fun to watch." He laughed. "'Llo Fade, name's Magnus." Petting the cat that had climbed to his shoulders he said, "This is my cat, Kippers. I thought it was funny to name a cat after fish." Swimming? Now that was something Magnus really did enjoy. "Have you got merfolks and such? Will we be able to go see them? Is there really a giant squid in the lake or was me dad just makin it up?"

Paddy's ears perked up at the sound of Merfolk - she'd read about them, but always thought they were the stuff of legend. But then if a furry student was real, she guessed anything was possible. "Just as long as we don't have to be in the water" she muttered.

"Kippers is really cute," she said to Magnus (). "I always thought a cat wouldn't want to be near someone like me, but she seems really attached to you. You're welcome to meet my pet owl," she added, "he's in the owlery at the moment, but I reckon he'd get on fine with you."

He watched as Kippers hopped off his shoulders and made her way to Paddy. Twirling her self around Paddy's legs and vaulting herself up to Paddy's shoulder. Her purr was so loud the could hear it, almost feel the vibrations. "Kippers is special I think. She likes you to it seems," Magnus said smiling. "I wouldn't mind meeting him."

Paddy tensed up as Kippers wound herself around her legs, but as the cat landed on her shoulders she realised nothing bad was going to happen. With Kippers purring in her ear, she relaxed. "You're right, there's definitely something special about this cat Magnus (). Maybe you'd be able to help me pick a name for my owl too, it doesn't seem right him still being nameless."

( ) "Yes! There is a giant squid. He is friendly to students though. The merefolk are a different story. Always be careful with them. I mean I am sure the headmistress can communicate with them. Maybe I can talk to professor Sparks see if we can get some water creatures to learn from."

“Nice to meet'cha Magnus.” (()) Fade nodded at the other boy and was pleasantly surprised to see the small cat attending the Club as well. He hadn't thought to bring Chase, but was always happy to learn about other people's pets, almost as much as he liked to talk about his own. In response to Paddy’s question he beamed. “His name is Chaser. But everyone calls him Chase. Bengal breed, really active. Ma' suggested I bring him so he has more room to run around.” He watched as Kippers circled , purring up a storm. “She's a friendly little thing, isn't she?”

On the subject of merfolk, Fade wavered. He never liked swimming in murky waters. Ever since he learned that there were actually things in the lake that were unfriendly, he did his very best to avoid it whenever possible. “Goldfish are fine, but I’m not trying to get skewered.” He had read the stories, specifically in regards to the last Tri-Wizard Tournament that Hogwarts hosted. Afterwards any interest he had in going swimming in the lake was quickly dissolved. (())

"Yes, she's great," Magnus said, "hmmm how about Mouse?" He laughed, "it'd be a cute name for an owl. Or er... Scoot, Swoop, Feathers... not really sure what else to suggest." He loved the idea of swimming in the depths of the lake so hoped that they could. "I'd like to meet Chase too, if he'd like me as well."

"Then I will look into the creatures in the lake. It would be fun for us to start in our own back yard, but I am not sure how it will work since it will start getting colder. Maybe I can arrange something for our session next week!" Gaia started making a to-do list and jotting down notes... "Oh, Fade that reminds me, It is said that unicorns present themselves in dreams for people that might feel uncertain or might need some type of healing. It is also a source of pure light and magic. It could mean that the person dreaming about them might have a direct and person connection and understanding of the creature. Just in case you know someone that might enjoy that little bit of information." Gaia winked at her friend and went back to her boxes where she pulled out a green book of magical creatures.
