“For now we will be meeting here next to the hut. This location was chosen for safety reasons and proximity to our professors. Magical creatures can be a little temperamental at times.” She paused and took a look around at the gathering members smiling. “Very well, first things first, there is parchment and a quill for anyone wanting to jot down their name and join the club. The Hoot’s are also part of this club. If anyone is interested please add ”Hoot” next to your name. Feel free to add any creatures you would like to learn more of and discuss! We might not discuss of all them this term, but it will give us an idea on the most popular creatures!”

Once she was finished Gaia bent down to grab one of two boxes, the smaller one, grabbed gloves and eye protective glasses. “Now this is not necessarily a requirement, but I must strongly suggest to have some protective gear at hand, if you do not have protective gear let me know and I will always have different options from the school gear supply, as well as, specific items needed for care of magical creatures like treats, arm guards for owls, etc. This is only a precaution in case we have creatures that are unfamiliar to us.” Putting everything back in the box she asked “Are there any questions before we begin?”

Please Read: ((Since we will be updating on different creatures as well as owls for the HOOT club keep an eye on posts made by me with creature images. It is the easiest way to help keep track of the creature being discussed without clogging the ping system, and everyone being able to keep up even when not online every day. We will have giveaways and fun activities for club members during this term. The third post will have a guide on creatures we have discuss, facts about others we might not, and even made up creatures might show up.))

When she got the news that the Care of Magical Creatures club was open for business, Ethel had done three happy dances right in a row. She'd grown up surrounded by the most fantastic of fantastic beasts and missed being able to be around them! Here was her chance. Quill in hand, she hopped right up and jotted down her name, Ethel Cwen. Next to it, she wrote dragons and hoot.

"Yay for magical creatures," she cheered, high fiving . "I can't wait to see what sorts of beasties we meet. Of course I understand if dragons are a little to advanced for us to meet to start out with, but I hope we get to meet some eventually! They are the best!"

Samantha ran breathlessly up to the people standing at the forest edge. Above her a great Gray owl soared silently onto a low tree branch nearby. "Dragons! We get to study dragons?" she gasped. catching her breath. "Awesome! These gloves and goggles are heavy duty and acid resistant. Is that good enough?" Sam asked proffering her protective gear to to inspect and taking the parchment and quill to write ; Samantha Grant, Hoot. Interested in dragons, and griffons especially.

Gaia tried her best to look professional. Clears throat "Yes, these are great Sam () anything else you might need later will be here. It seems dragons are a popular choice!"

Aderyn jogged across the lawn to the care of magical creatures club meeting, glancing around for her friend Emmy (), whom she knew would definitely be around somewhere. Reaching out to take the quill and parchment from Ethel, she scratched her name down.

Aderyn Jones - Hoot!

I'd love to learn about being able to see and catch a demiguise! And any creatures that we get magical ingredients for potions from.

Glancing up at her friend Gaia (), she clapped excitedly, handing the quill and parchment off to the next student to join them.

"So you're our club captain! That's brilliant!"

Turning to look at Ethel () as the girl spoke, she grinned.

"Oh, dragons would be amazing!"

Seeing the enthusiasm of the people showing up for the club made her even more excited. "Dragons are always amazing," she said with a grin for . "They're so majestic and beautiful!" Also terrifying, but show her one majestic thing that wasn't a little scary!

At 's comment Ethel pursed her lips thoughtfully and patted herself down: first jacket, then trousers, until she came up with a pair of gloves. "Voila! These are great. It's getting a little chilly to bring Wade out with me: he's such a baby about getting cold. I left him curled up in his tank. He's much happier there."

Gaia smiled at her friend () "Leave it to you to bring Demiguise for the club! I can ask professor Sparks if we might be able to get some for us to learn from ,but this is not their climate or habitat. I will see what I can do!" Gaia took notes o her own parchment.

() "Ah yes! We won't always be having the club outside it will get cold fast. I am working on that as well."

[img align=left]http://i.imgur.com/y633bIh.png?1[/img]Beth listened to 's speech. She couldn't wait to see what creatures they'd learn about. She scribbled down "Beth Hale; Griffin" on the parchment as it was passed to her, before handing it to the next student.

Gaia waved at Beth () "It is good to see you! Taking a break from reading dueling techniques? Have pets or interest in any particular magical creature?"

Aderyn nodded as Gaia () spoke. She knew that demiguises were from the far east and that they didn't thrive in climates like the one they had at Hogwarts, but she was fascinated by them and hoped that they might get to see them at some point.

Glancing around, Aderyn waved to Beth () as the girl joined them, peeking at the parchment Beth had scrawled on and noticing her note.

"I bet griffins are wicked cool up close, and you're brave to want to see one! I think I'd be too afraid to go near one."

Beth turned to Aderyn (). "You haven't met Moony yet? He's a baby griffin and my pet. I haven't really interacted with any adult griffins."

Paddy took the sheet of parchment and wrote "Paddy - Gryffindor - Hoot" before handing it to the next student. She was eager to learn more about owls, so she could take great care of her still unnamed pet Barn Owl.

Pulling her pair of thick gloves from her pocket, hoping they would be suitable protection against whatever creatures they would meet, she wondered if Rowan () or Magnus () might be joining the group. She wasn't too sure how the creatures they would be learning about would react to her, but she was eager to learn as much as possible.

Aderyn's mouth fell open in surprise at the prospect of a baby griffin.

"I don't know how I missed that!" She told Beth (). "I'd love to meet him some time. I have so many questions!"

"I agree with the griffins idea. I think like hippogriffs creatures that are considered dangerous is why we have this club. To learn on safety in handling animals of any kind and also respect their environments. Some of them are proud but dangerous. My hope is that I am able to share knowledge and insight to creatures from all over."

Gaia turned to the new member writing her name down and looked curiously with a smile on her face. () "Hello, there is something interesting about you. Could you come closer? I would like to ask you a few questions." taking out her pad of parchment and a quill.

Emmy, who was late again, had decided that the fastest way to get to the Care of Magical Creatures club was to transform herself into her animagus form. She ran a lot faster as a cat than as a human. She transformed into her fluffy, Norwegian forest cat form, picked up a small bag that had her wand, some parchment and a quill in it, and bounded out of the castle and through the grounds, her paws pounding softly over the grass.

She reached the hut and ran around behind it, out of sight of the group of people standing around. She didn't want to attract attention by turning into herself again in the middle of them all. She transformed back and hurried to join the group. She spotted the parchment and bent over it, adding her name and two of the magical creatures she'd love to study, because she couldn't decide between the two.

This done, she looked around and saw Aderyn nearby, and bounded up to her.

"Hullo!" Emmy said to her, when there was a break in conversation. "How're you? I got down here as fast as I could!"

She turned to see standing nearby and realized that she was the captain of the club.

"Hi, I'm Emmy," she said, extending a hand towards Gaia. "I don't think we've met yet!"

() Gaia grinned at Emmy and leaned in to whisper " an animagus eh?" out loud "Hello! I am Gaia. Welcome! If you have any questions let me know." Gaia made some notes on her parchment and winked at Emmy "hope you have some fun with us!"

Aderyn agreed with Gaia ().

"I want to learn as much as I can about our furry and feathered friends. I'd also like to contribute what knowledge I have. I'm not well versed in many creatures, but I do know a lot about fae if anyone is interested to learn some time!"

She turned and smiled at her best friend as Emmy () ran up to them, looking a little ruffled but excited. She'd noticed a large, fluffy cat streak by them just moments earlier, but hadn't immediately connected the sight of the animal with her best friend.

"Can't complain," Aderyn said with a smile. "And I'd rib you for being late if I hadn't been late to another club meeting myself the other day."

() "That is why we are here! All knowledge is welcome of course! Any insight on books and research is welcome too! I am working on a guide for our use. I think it would be great if everyone is able to find the info on creatures in one place."

Magnus signed his name Magnus Lee-- Gryffindor--hoot

His parents had warned him animals might not like him much being a werewolf and all--but no one knew that he was one yet. Well, the staff knew but that was all. He remembered when he went to get his pet cat from Magical Menagerie that many of the animal did not react favourably to him but he still wanted to try. He smiled at and handed the parchment to the next student.
