Emmy nodded as Fade () suggested they record the things that could make cats sick. She nodded again as Aderyn spoke, agreeing with what she'd said is toxic.

"I've also heard that grapes are toxic to cats," she chimed in, "as well as lots of different house plants, like lillies!"

"Okay!" she said, as Aderyn () got up and ran off to collect some toads. "I should stay here, since seems to have put me in charge of the kitties!" She smiled at Gaia, then reached out to stroke Boo, who looked vaguely concerned that Aderyn had left the group.

Aderyn dashed back down to the lake to collect a couple more waiting toads and brought them back to the table, making sure they were all comfortable, happy, warm, and secure. Locking the lids down on their enclosures one last time, she looked at with a smile.

"If you need any more help with them, just let me know!"

Skipping back to her group, she gave Boo an affectionate ruffle and began to pick up spare toys and treats that they hadn't used, piling them into the empty box Gaia had brought them. She looked over at Emmy () and considered what she'd said about lilies.

"Boo is a godsend in that he doesn't chew on house plants, as we have a lot of things around the house that are bad for cats. I know some cats are CRAZY for plants, though."

Looking over at Magnus () instead, she looked at the owl on the boy's shoulder.

"Your owl is beautiful. What's her name?"

He shook his head saying, "Not mine, Gaia's. Her name's Athena. I upset her last time I was here, so had to say sorry. I've got an orange Persian cat named Kippers. Don't know where she is right now." He said as his face turned red.

Aderyn smiled at Magnus () again.

"She looks more than content - I'm sure she's forgiven you. I'd love to meet Kippers sometime, too!"

She went back to putting away excess supplies and glanced down at the parchment they had written up.

"Is there anything else we'd like to add to our list?"

() "I see you and Athena made up!" Grinning she handed some cat treats to Magnus. "Kippers has been roaming around the tables, but she curled up and went to sleep about 20 minutes ago under the cat table."

Hearing () Emmy's statement Gaia turned around "That you are!" Gaia clapped her hands once and did a little hop while grinning. "I figured it was fitting to have you help with the cats!" Then she heard the cracking sound and stopped with a sick look on her face. () "Erm, thank you for doing that. There are some flies in a jar and some crickets. I am not sure what the toads around here eat." While saying this she was unconsciously taking some steps backwards away from the toad table. "If you could keep an eye from time to time that would be great!" with that Gaia turned around and briskly walked to her table to continue her notes.

"Cheers," Magnus said, pocketing some owl trees. "Thanks for taking care of her. Didn't worry 'bout her at all. Knew she'd be in good hands." Probably better hands than his looking at the cat info sheet on things he'd never known. "Athena's a sweet bird." He bend down forgetting the owl was on him to hunt for his cat. It was probably highly amusing to see the boy crawling under the table looking for his cat with an owl riding his back. He found Kippers curled up asleep. The cat smelt him and opened an eye. She mewed and stretched lazily taking her time. It was awkward coming out from under the table with a cat and owl both on his back. It was almost a relief when Athena decided to perch on his head. Kippers climbed his back and settled on his shoulders purring deeply. Magnus winced as her claws dig in his skin, but he said nothing. "This is Kippers," he said. His voice was still on the melancholy side. "I'm Magnus," he said, realising he had not introduced himself to the girl.

Fade was glad Magnus (()) was willing to stay. It was cool to have another boy around, and it was nice not to be the only one prone to wearing a blush. Even with his attention being pulled in a few directions at once, Fade was still able to make a devious mental note about ’s behavior concerning the toad table. The trouble with Fade was, once he was comfortable enough around someone, he couldn’t help but tease them. Of course playfully and within reason. Maybe he would deposit a toy frog in her stocking in the Ravenclaw tower. “You know, I’ve heard that if a pure-blood witch kisses a frog, one in twelve will actually turn into a prince.” He grinned dumbly to himself as Chase crawled from his shoulder onto the table to help Aderyn (()) by batting at the toys she was trying to clean up. “I can’t think of anything else for the list. Chase, you aren’t helping.” Chase of course coolly ignored Fade’s chiding.

() "Athena come hang out with me for a while. You can return to Magnus in a while. He needs time with his kitty!" At once Athena came and perched on her extended arm. "Magnus you are pretty good with Athena!"

() "I highly doubt that is true FADE!" She hissed the last world at his friend. She has known Fade long enough to know it was never good news when he made such playful comments.

If Magnus was feeling more his normal self he would be plotting pranks with frogs. Truth be told he was mischievous though he would never do anything mean spirited--maybe a large pile of chocolate frogs. But he wasn't there yet. True everyone was being super nice about the events that had occurred so far, but he felt so bad about himself he felt he didn't deserve their kindness. "She makes me think an owl would be a nice pet, even for me," he said petting his cat.

Why was socialization so hard? Oh right, he didn't do it often. "So, er, Fade," he said relieved to know one thing he could talk about, "Had Chase long?"

"You can spend time with her any time! I am sure she would enjoy that; she loves having attention all to herself."

Gaia returned to the center of the club grounds and turned her wand to the parchment hanging there with a quill she scribbled something and walked away to tend to the owls returning to the owlery.

"Of course I can do that! No problem."

With a smile, she positioned herself between the cat table and toad table so that she could be at either if need be. Looking over as the boy with the owl climbed out from beneath the table with a cat, she regarded them both ().

"And I'm Aderyn. It's nice to meet you both! Kippers is adorable!"

She glanced down again as a toy was suddenly batted out of her hand and chuckled as Chase made himself useful in true cat fashion, playing with what she held. Setting it down, she allowed him to play if he wanted to, pushing it a short ways across the table so he could chase it if he was so inclined. ()

"He's harmless," she aid to Fade. "Just doing what cats do!"

Looking around at her group mates, Aderyn spoke up again.

"I can stay at our table for now if you'd like to look around. We can take turns if others have any questions!"

Paddy overheard Gaia ()'s mention of next week's creatures and smiled. It would be worth giving some input on werewolves if they would be learning about Animagi (or was that Animaguses, she wasn't certain) us as well.

Pleased it wasn't rats they'd been asked to help with, Paddy went over to the lake to help scoop the remaining ones up, before placing them carefully into the tank. She didn't understand frogs and toads, but even though they felt weird against the fur on her hands, she didn't have a problem with holding them.

Heading back over to the owls, she handed Mouse a treat, then noticing all the other owls were getting jealous, tickled each of them on the head. "Behave yourself, alright?" she muttered to Mouse, "everyone will be coming round, so you need to be on your best behaviour. And there's two of me, if you know what I mean," she added, "but I'm sure you'll get on well with him."

“I haven’t been able to test it out yet myself is all.” He smirked at , but turned to answer Magnus’s (()) question before he said too much. “Had him for about five years. My cousin’s cat had a litter and I got first pick.” Squinting at Chase who was busying himself with demolishing a cat toy, Fade smiled. “He was one of the more laid back kittens if you can believe it.” Good thing to, Fade wouldn’t know what to do with a cat who had much more energy than Chaser.

Now that his shoulders were free of needle paws, Fade thought it was a good opportunity to wander among the other tables. There were plenty of owls, a pair of snakes, and a cute quadruped couple comprised of Moony and Drifter. Since Fade had already had the chance to meet Moony back in the Ravenclaw common room, he decided the first table he wanted to explore was the snakes. Probably the one creature here who he knew the least about. Maybe afterwards he would take a closer look at the frogs and toads as well, just for future reference. “I’m guna check out the snake table.” He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder indicating to Magnus where he was going, inviting him along without actually verbally inviting him.

"I'd like that," Magnus said giving the barest of smiles. He did like Athena and she seemed to be a sweet owl. He would enjoy coming and visiting her he thought. He watched as Gaia went to the centre of the owls and then Paddy went off to frolic with the toads and then set her pet with the owls and.

"Thanks, Aderyn. Mum and Dad bought 'er for me on me 11th birthday. She took to me the moment I walked in the store."

"He seems really sweet, if not a bit active. Kippers wanders off and chases gnomes but she also isn't above sitting by the fireplace and soaking up the heat." Then Fade said where he was going and it seemed like an invite, so Magnus followed with his hands firmly in his pockets. The full moon might be over but he wasn't taking any chances on upsetting the animals or their owners.

Aderyn smiled at Magnus ().

"Well, cats are excellent judges of character, you know. She must have known you'd be the best person to take care of her!"

Sam took a deep breath to steady her nerves when she saw Magnus and another boy heading towards the snake table. "I will not say something stupid" she muttered to herself nervously. There had been plenty of boys at her school back in the states but she had never found them interesting before. She could almost hear her mom saying "You're growing up dear" Ugh. Ethel was busily writing down facts about snakes on their parchment, so Sam spread out the moving pictures she had brought of other snakes, from a dramatic one of a muggle naturalist struggling to control a giant green anaconda, to a tiny coral snake discussing the taste of tree frogs. Coaxing Wade out of his hide to show off his beautiful colors, and calling Chua's attention to new admirers, she smiled as the boys approached.

"Dont know 'bout that," he said, "kinda just let 'er take care o 'er self really." He ruffled his hair rubbing the back of his head. Intimated because everyone knew way more about their pets then he did? No, no that couldn't be it... certainly the speed taking off to the snake table was just because he was following Fade... right...

"'Llo, Sam 'n it?" Magnus said feeling increasingly uneasy. Maybe he should just go and come back on werewolf day he thought. No, that wouldn't really help anything. If Sam had anything against him for being a werewolf it was best to get it over with, right? Did she know? He tried to remember if she was there the day he went off the rails but some if it was rather blurred. He did know he made a nice ass of himself that was for sure.

"Yes. Magnus, right?" Sam's smile grew broader, and she fought to keep from grinning like an idiot. "This is Chua, a king snake" she added indicating the black and white banded serpent. "And this is Wade. He's Ethel's corn snake" She hissed praise and calming words of reassurance as she stroked the boldly patterned orange, yellow, and black scales of the nervous constrictor. "Chua is very friendly and loves attention. Wade here is a little shy, but very friendly once he gets used to you." She looked inquiringly at the other boy, hoping to keep the conversation light, and carefully avoiding asking about Magnus' health.

Magnus nodded, "yeah that's me." The girl was grinning widely... was she trying to pretend she was okay with him there? He just wasn't good at socializing and felt rather out of his depths. "Won't touch 'em don't worry." Did she hiss? He guessed that meant she could talk to snakes. Cool. "Not many animals take ta me. Cos, you know, I'm a werewolf... they can sense it." There no more guessing if she knew. Besides, the Q and A the following time would announce it to anyone who hadn't overheard.

"Don't worry, you can touch them. Snakes aren't slimy like a lot of people think, and wolves don't usually prey on them, so they aren't afraid of you at all. Chua would tell me right off the bat if there was anything about you that bothered him. Y'see. even a baby sidewinder or western rattlesnake has enough venom to kill a grown wolf, and so most wolves leave all snakes alone. Chua doesn't have any venom, he's a constrictor, but he'll shake his tail violently in dry grass or leaves to fool anything that alarms him." Sam chuckled as she recalled "he nearly scared the feathers off Umbra when I first got her." Sam stroked Chua from the top of his head down his back to demonstrate. "Just pet in the direction of the scales..., go ahead."
