collecting Yeah. Definitely weighted. Even the PP has to be too. Half the books are dirt cheap, while the other half are in the millions.
If it's not purposely weighted, then the algorithm for giving things out is off, and needs to be at least triple-checked. (I can recall a few times where staff swore things were working fine, and then whoops, turns out it wasn't.)
Feel bad enough to sell me one for less than 3 Mill? 😜
Haha yeah they are definitely weighted. That's pretty plain to see.
And that's okay, because otherwise everything becomes super cheap and there isn't much point to it. But I do think that some things were a little too rare this year and it should be tweaked; I camped out for four consecutive days at my friend's place looking for one of the stickers. In the end, she got it from another visitor and passed it on to me.
I had to trade to fill in the rest of the gaps and I think that's okay too - it was fun to help friends out and vice versa - but I can access Sub from work so I'm on a lot and had the luxury of spares to hand. For a user with average access I can imagine them sitting at a house for over a week, targeting a specific item to no avail.
I'm going to add myself to the boat of being skeptical of the "no-weighting." I know that a random generator has its flaws, but any issues should even out in the population as a whole. I've yet to see statistics proving that.
For multiple items, I often needed to ToT for days, only to simply give up, and try to find someone to trade with. I'm sorry, but no one needs 12 Kittyphugs, or 11 Thunder Rag Dolls.
I'm fortunate that I was able to get everything I wanted by the end of the event. But that was about 60-70% ToTing, with the rest being trading with kind individuals.
