Then how do you explain Luck's items above? I absolutely refuse to believe that they aren't weighted.
Could we perhaps do it by user ID next year as when the person joined or perhaps by what month someone joined subeta?

So the entire site is somehow collectively having tremendously bad luck getting a few of the items? o_O Because it's not just a few of us having trouble; obviously certain items are extremely rare, as there are few in the shop search and they are very expensive.
Well anyway, glad to hear the system is changing next year! :)
Even if there is going to be no change;
I agree that this makes it less fun to ToT friends. All mine also have 20+ and give out the same items. This makes me sad because I had to get everything I wanted / before / I could ToT them. I wanted to ToT them more :C
Also for not being weighted, I'm going to agree that some of them seemed... oddly... rare xD
I had been wondering about this. I spent three days at one user's profile trying for those sugar wax lips. Finally I broke down and just bought them because I got tired of getting the same last year items.
Now for the last few hours I've been at a friend's profile trying for the cracked face tattoo. I'm kind of drowning in last year's candy and Thor rag dolls. I even got that rag doll twice in a row. :( It's almost like I'll get old items 5-6 times before I get a new one.

I wouldn't mind further dividing people with more than 20 pets into different prize groups. There are four prize groups for people with less than 20 pets, but literally just one group for people with more than 20 pets. With all the extra pet slots released over the years, there are just less and less users with less than 20 pets. It's less fair for the pet people whose friends are mostly also pet people, who just happen to have lots of pets...

Glad to hear this is going to be done. Personally, I don
Something that could be fairer for pet people is probably not to base ToT items on number of pets. It sucks. It really, really sucks, because people with 0-9 pets are NOT BIG GROUPS.
There is no way to win with the current way it's done. Keith agrees, I talked to Amber about it, and she agrees that it's pretty bad.
But, pet number determinating ToT items is not viable.
didn't last year they not bring in the old items until the 2nd week of Morostide?

I'm on that small 0-4 pet people group myself, and I'm happy to see this is going to change! I feel a bit constrained by Morostide, in the sense that I can't ever be holding pets for my pet-loving friends in October. Also, I can't get the 5th pet I've been considering, since my best shot at having as many 0-4 items as possible is to be in that range myself, haha :x
Tbh I wish the whole ToT pool division didn't happen. I mean, what if people only have a couple friends -- then they must go into the forums to find strangers to ToT instead of enjoying the holiday with their closest buddies... I know, there's that part about incentivizing everyone to be social and all that, but I still don't think it's cool when it takes away time they could be enjoying with their favorite people (which is also a way to socialize!) :/
I really don't remember. lol I want to say yes on that. Even then I don't remember getting old things as much as I've been this whole time. Of course that could be because I still had loads of old items I needed then unlike this year.

that is what i remember the only old items I wish were in are the really old rag dolls. I hope they do come up with a better method of distribution next year.

How about just going by the last digit of user IDs? It's a simple formula, and it gives you 10 item pools that should be roughly the same size.

Oh, totally! I would not oppose better options for sure. The current system is just too swayed to the below 20 side. And I guess I'm still doomed if things are based on pet slots since most of my friends are in the 40 to 50+ plus range xD. So can't wait to see what the staff come up with.

I don't see why we couldn't keep it at number of pets since that's an easy thing for people to figure out about other players - but why not change the distributions? Especially since there are people with 40+ pets now. Why not make it 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40+, something like that? Bigger pools to choose from, wider range, etc.
Also jumping on board with those who think things are weighted. Even if they aren't intentionally, I've ToT'd probably hundreds of times trying for a couple of specific items and have gotten dozens of everything but. So either they are weighted, or something's accidentally jacked with those couple of items.
Anything over (I think) 27 pets is getting into cash shop territory. You can't have more than 27 pets if you never bought a cash shop slot, and I'm uncomfortable with people getting perks because they bought pet slots from the cash shop
(10 free slots + 10 loyalty boxes + quest-a-thon slot + 2000 users slot + 5 MC slots = 27)
Every other slot included someone buying from the cash shop at some point.
That's why 20+ wasn't divided further in the first place, to not give people who most likely spent real money another advantage we didn't technically pay for.
I'm with the idea that going to the end digit of user Id's (0-9) or month joined (1-12) would probably be a much fairer distribution and of much more use. I ended up with lots of people in my range 10-14 and over 20, but not many between. ...and despite that, I had to trade/was given my two apple gummy gators! Even though I did have plenty of 5th tot'ers and I tot'd at several in that range I didn't actually mange to Tot a single one.
Do you have a rare item that just won't sell? Are you going through the high levels of Item Hunt? Or maybe you just HATE that blue bunny? Then you should join IHH helpers and IHH bargain in the forum groups!
why are we getting way more 2014 items than 2015 ones? Last day of toting and all i am getting is 2014 items. Plz dont tell that items are NOT weighted coz everybody is having the same crap luck of too much of the same things and too few of a lot of others.
I agree with the others, the items are weighted or there is a glitch. I kept all items I got during Morostide in my shop Holyday. There are hardly any special items from this year. The only good items I got during Cinthias quests (and how sad is that?) and one old rag doll from Pete. Most of my rag dolls I had to buy or trade for except those from last year. (Kind of understand now why Loki hates Thor for his oppressing presence XD). And to be very blunt I hate and . I donated, deleted and have given away a ton of them during Major Drills.
The first 1 1/2 weeks I played like mad. Then I have given up to be honest and left ToT and the patch to the rest of Subeta.
And lets better not talk about the damn patch cat and the other special minions.
I've been ToT'ing as consistently as I can for at least five hours every day since it started and am just now going through to find what I don't have, and I'm SHOCKED at the number of items I still don't have.
I'm also shocked at how many ToT items are actually selling right now for multiple hundreds, if not millions, of sP. That's not right. Something definitely needs to change and I'm glad to hear it will be changing.
Edit: Given how few of some current TOT items there are on site at the moment, I really do hope this year's items will be readily available next year. We'll need a "flood" of old items to make up for this year's deficit.
I have a really hard time believing items aren't weighted. I've never seen tot items go for 4+ mill before they retire before... Distribution should be gone over in that case.
