Goldy swayed to a halt as other student began to talk to her. "I think it's wonderful! They're playing some great music!" she replied to Amanda () over the sound of the band. The night was turning into more fun than she realized, and it was nice to see students not in their robes for once. As Vin approached their group she turned to answer him. "You can do whatever you want really. Dancing is over here, the food and drinks are over there if you want to munch on something, uh, if you want to just sit and people watch you could probably go anywhere." she said with a smile, pointing to the food area. "I didn't get to try a lot of the food but it's really good. The punch was delici-"

Peeves came charging through the hall and Goldy ducked in cover and stood up as she realized it was only Peeves. Her mind fixed on the riddles, she wasn't the best at them, but she enjoyed thinking about them. The distraction and halt of music finally got her to stand still, her mind more focused on the challenge than her surroundings.

Max greeted Rin with a bow. He didn´t feel that alone anymore because they were both muggles and could talk about various things. He asked her "How do you like the ball so far ??"

Turning around Max looked where Elune had gone. He spotted her talking to . He went over to ask who she had come with to the ball.

Clearly he had thought he had come up with truly clever riddles. He showed signs of resisting leaving, but she fixed him with a glare. The spoons stopped banging the pots, and all dozen, plus Peeves, vanished with a pop.

Rin sighed at 's words. "I know. I noticed."

Rin looked the stranger up and down and then took a step back. "I don't know you."

Max knew why he wasn´t that good at making new friends. "I am sorry I scared you. My name is Max I am a friend of Elune and I am in Slytherin."

MG couldn't help but be a bit curious about Peeves. Quite the character indeed! After everything was settled and things slowly resumed she noticed a new friend enter the ball room. She waved to and hoped they could have some fun dancing soon with ! MG has not spotted yet but was hoping to see them soon... maybe see aswell since this was an open invitation!

Nothing like being the new kid on the block! Okay, so I was a late bloomer. It's not my fault! To be fair, I suspected I wasn't totally normal for some time. I simply couldn't resist that toad in Esme McClellan's lunch because she had the wickedest tongue and made everyone she could feel really bad. That toad raised suspicion, but I was looking particularly angelic, and they didn't figure it out. Thanks for screaming so loudly for attention, Esme. I made good my escape.

But really, it was Aunt Gloria's bric-a-brac collection that did it--that and the jackhammer crew repairing the street outside her apartment. Aunt Gloria was my favorite relative, and the old dear loved her "keepsake case." Unfortunately, trinkets and jackhammers don't mix, so the rattling dislodged the whole shelf.

If you could levitate all of those geegaws, plus the shelf, and put all of them back without a crack, and this was the dearest aunt imaginable, what would you have done? Yeah, me too.

Problem was, I did it in front of the entire Westbury Ladies' Tea Circle, which included Esme's mother.

The owl arrived a week later, my parents were only too glad to avert a neighborhood scandal (and possible lynching), and here I am at Hogwarts, weeks into the term. I'm still playing catch up, and I don't have a real dress cloak. But my Gryffindor house members helped me out, and here I am at my first ball, looking properly red and gold, even if it's a teeny bit mismatched on the sleeves. You can't have everything, right?

Oh, well, I'm determined to have fun with , , and if she shows. Life is a new adventure now. Let's dance!

Rin cocked her head to the side. "Rin, Ravenclaw. You talk funny. ...Wait, that's rude. I'm sorry."

Vin listened to the two girls explain to him what really happens at a ball. He nodded to them with a smile, saying "Ah, alright. All I really knew before was that it was like a dance and it was a way to decide whether or not I should-" before Vin could finish, he was cut off by an absurdly noisy ghost. Vin was ready to pull out his wand, however the headmistress seemed to know the spectre, and the young man didn't quite want to get on anyone's bad side by attacking the poltergeist who he now knew as Peeves. He eased as the ghost slumped in disappointment and disappeared, along with the several spoons and pots. He waited until the music started once again, before he spoke once again.

"So, do either of you happen to want to dance?" Vin asked with a smile, hand out, palm facing the star-filled ceiling.

Rox was glad that Peeves had left the Hall again, as much as she loved riddles, she started to get a headache from the spoons banging on the pots. Maybe she could see if she was able to find him at Hogwarts to get some more riddles from him one day.

Rox saw MG () waving towards someone entering the Hall, she turned around and saw . She waved to the other girl, knowing that she was new at Hogwarts. It must have been hard for her to settle in, after having missed weeks of the first term already. She tried to make clear to her that she should come over to them.

Rox loved it that more members of the gryffindor house came in for the ball, but she hadn't seen all of them yet. From her spot in the Hall, she could enjoy the music, see the Hall's entrance (to spot all those gorgeous dresses) and also enjoy the refreshments. She was still thinking of a way to change the colors of the drinks though.

Max tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean I talk funny ??"

In her shadowed spot, Thana felt far more comfortable. As she took a seat at the nearby table, she noted that the cause of this dark area seemed to be a lack of the orbs of light decorating the hall.

A sense of mild unease washed across her. I'm not alone. Thana realised, with a start. Having recently stared into several brightly glowing globes, Thana was robbed of her usual night vision; she could do nothing but stare into the darkest seats around the table, detecting a presence but unable to identify much further.

Best to see if they're friendly, she mused, taking a breath and steeling herself to speak, she looked toward the now barely-visible outline of a figure at the table.

"Hello," Thana said uncertainly, slightly thrown by the breach of what she had initially thought to be a 'safe' space. "Are you.. enjoying the ball?"

Goldy grinned at Vin "I love dancing!" she responded, politely taking his hand.

Mae waved shyly to and sneaked quietly toward the exit maybe she would catch coming in, otherwise retreating to the common room seemed a good idea for now.

Turokai sighed "Well, it's certainly impressive. Though to be honest I'd probably fit in better if I were banging pots with Peeves there." She chuckled, watching the poltergeist harass the Headmistress. "I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one place before. When my pop's bank sent him over here to be a liaison with Gringotts because he can speak Goblin, we had no idea the job would be permanent. Oh, jeeze, I'm sorry. My name's Turokai. Please..., sit, oh you already are, er, I mean you want some butterbeer?" She pulled a wand surreptitiously from her sleeve whispering "lumos" and re-lit a tiny orb in the center of the table with a dim purple glow, trying not to stare at the pale beauty barely visible in the darkness across the table from her.

"This next song is an old one, from way before your time, but you may have heard it from some of your parents or grandparents... Maybe some of you will recognize it."

She turned and nodded to the drummer and the band started to play the song. Aurora closed her eyes and sang:

MG was exited to have another gryff come to the ball! She thought looked amazing despite what she thinks! Now it is a real party! I hope everyone feels welcome, and i am glad our new friend is with people she can be herself with! MG wondered why was eyeing the punch so closely, maybe she will have to keep an eye on that grin she sees!

...well, when in doubt, food was always a good option! She made her way to the snack table and grabbed a cup of pumpkin juice. Time to people watch!

If only her outfit wasn't so distracting. She tugged at her dress in mild annoyance; the darn enchanted petals kept falling instead of floating. And she wished her hair enchantments had gone better. The colors were intended to shift and sparkle, not lay flat and blink halfheartedy.

"I wish I'd had your sense and gone with something simple," she commented to a nearby student in a short black dress. ()

The music had started again, and the fireworks on the stage made loud popping sounds before they sizzled onto the dance floor.

She turned toward Max and Rin, who she coyly nudged in the shoulder. "Er, Rin is a little introverted... She's actually been trying to figure out a way to get electronics to work at Hogwarts. Have you read anything about the subject, Max?"

Then, she answered, "I just came here with some of my Ravenclaw friends, like Rin here." She smiled and asked Max the same question.
