The plot is excellent but this is the first time I can remember where we're being asked to pay to play. Yes it's in sP and not real money, but it feels really strange that we're being required to do so. I can maybe understand a little bit, but all this smelting and now all the weapon forging...the recipe I got was roughly around half a mill or so as all but one item were elixirs.
Maybe things can be reevaluated for next time? I feel badly for people who can't contribute gobs of sP into a plot. It kinda makes it more exclusive towards those of who do have the sP to dump and not bat an eyelash. Or people who just don't want to participate in something that can bleed them dry or feel awful that they won't be able to get the awesome plot prizes because they are being required to do something that they just can't do for any reason.
I'm sure there's another way to take the so-called "excessive sP" out of the system without turning a extremely well done and brilliantly written plot into a money pit and taking some of the fun out of the plot that way.

I agree... when I first joined there would have been no way I could have afforded the prices for some of these steps. I used to be so excited when the Wizard gave me an item worth 30k. I know things like forging weapons is optional, but still. :/ It kind of excludes the newer members. (I agree that the plot this year is neat, though!)
At least you didnt have to train a strong pet to fight with..j/s
(otherwise it would have been much more expensive)

I used over 600m in boosters in the last week just so i could stay competitive when this part of the plot came around. I don't think 500k that can be made literally in minutes from quests is a lot to invest.
Yeah - I'm a bit miffed that I've had to drop 600k just to advance the plot steps. And now I'm about to shell out another 600k for one single quest? Yeah, not really a huge fan of having to spend my money to partake in a plot.
Specifically I don't like the "Pay me or you can't go on" feature we had going with the Jule's riddle. That annoyed the shit out of me.

When you first joined I'm sure prices for all the items were pretty different. Inflation seems to be kinda strong on this site.
It's not really that hard to make money on this site. On my first day I was able to make enough that I already couldn't do Sarah's quests. Everything in this plot is affordable if you do a few quests and play a few games.
You don't have to give Mathis more items than you're comfortable with. If it's too expensive for you, then stop.

It's not even an sP sink. Most of the items Connor asks for a easiest to buy from user shops, unless you're lucky enough to catch an NPC shop restock. Especially with the elixirs and higher rarity items. This is just moving sP from one user to another instead of taking it out of circulation.
sP sink :P.
It was not a must to smelt, and it's not a must to do the weapons forging.
I don't understand the reason for this complain.. you will gain this sP again in one day anyway.. and it's not like you went bankrupt and you need to sell the whole gallery/wardrobe..
I liked the fact that we had to spend sP on this plot.. and would like see it again in future plots.
Man, do I feel lucky. Jules only cost me a 50k bribe, and Connor's ingredients were mostly items I'd gotten from Maleria, Quentin, and Pete's quests that were sitting around unsold in my shop! I was just miffed I didn't get a weapon to keep out of it.
My only problem with the "pay for these items so you he can make an imaginary weapon" part of the plot, which I did participate with even while battling with my T10 pet, is that I wish, instead of being asked to buy elixirs and whatnot, that they'd set up a very small site shop, like any of the event shops or the Millionaire Center, to sell Idk metals or something you'd use to make weapons and had us buy those. It would've functioned as a nice little sP sink, and I thought that's what Subeta wants these days?
There's no sP sink though. And if you own the elixirs and happen to be selling them in your shop, it's even a great money maker

I'd actually feel better about this if it were an actual SP sink tbh.
I was actually pretty peeved about the bribes to see Jules. Not so much that we had to pay money, but because the amount changed over time. If you were on at the right time, you paid nothing, while other unlucky people had to shell out 500k. I'm no fan of timezone inequality.
I think I smelted twice before the goal was met? That's a minimum of 200k, which is like one set of quests from most quest givers.
The changing Jules bribes I don't like, luckily I hit Jules shortly after the plot step was released, but I feel bad for people that weren't able to get to him or Victoria, who I think was the cheapest bribe.
Also Connor will give you a different set of items if you don't want to buy the ones he has listed. I don't know how long it takes, but I hit cancel last night and I have different items this morning so
That's right. This is a chance for non-battlers to get a decent amount of damage done to the world boss, while not stealing the glory from battle pets and all the sP and time people invested in order to make them so.
No sP spent pain, no gain
-- if you cancel the quest, Connor takes around 15 minutes to translate another recipe.
Oh, that's not bad at all. Still, I'm hoping to battle instead. If the boss stages are really around for several hours I should be able to hit at least part of the next two
I agree about it being expensive. And no sP sink since you pretty much have to buy the items from other users.
Exactly. I don't think it's an expensive plot to be honest? They are not forcing us to spend anything anyway. It's a choice.
