There's no need to be inclusive of everyone all the time (how much hate am I going to get for saying that?). If everyone did that then we'd never have games.

  • No more arrow games because of people with reduced coordination, arthritis, etc.

  • Okay so we'll have WASD games instead.

  • No that's no better!

  • Okay so we'll just do mouse controls.

  • No, that won't work for people who use trackpad or have reduced coordination!

  • Okay so we'll use other keys instead.

  • No that won't work for the same reason!

  • Fine. No input. Let's just watch a movie.

  • But this movie is in colour, that's excluding people who are colour-blind!

  • Fine, black and white then.

  • The subject matter is problematic.

  • Fine, we'll remove the "problematic" bits...

  • No, now it's boring! Erasure! Ugh you people never do anything for us.

  • Fuck it, you get nothing.

  • WHY ARE THERE NO UPDATES?!

You won't get hate from me for saying that.

I feel bad for people who struggle with these games because of medical issues or just lack of experience in these types of games, but it doesn't mean we should not ever have these types of games, that ruins it for the people who do enjoy the games.

As long as we get an opt-out option for games I don't care much even though it's still frustrating of course. If games (or any other feature) lacking an opt-out lead to people miss out on a whole plot then I think something needs to change. Not only in regards to health issues but also for people that access Subeta from tablets or the like. So yay for promising us an opt-out this time.

Yeah I'm mocking the constant complainers who are never satisfied and think everything "problematic" but I also do feel bad for people who can't play certain games and do certain things around the site for legitimate reasons. I just don't think we need to cater to everyone all the time because it just doesn't work. Sometimes things are inaccessible to people and that sucks but sometimes you can't do anything about it. I find Subeta's actually really good for trying to be accessible for people and listening to feedback so I definitely find the complaints ridiculous.

If we have a plot without games, there are complaints. If we have one without battles, there are complaints... but we also have complaints if we DO have those things. It's crazy.

A plot without its activities is just glorified story telling that spans over a few weeks

two or three days between each paragraph of story time, I can picture it now.

I totally understand what you're saying. We need variety in the plot activities but as soon as one of the activities doesn't appeal to certain people, boom, it's an issue. I see this with battling, because I consider myself a battler. Last plot we had one required challenger and a few optional challengers. The required challenger was easily beaten by an untrained pet, yet people still had a problem with it. and other people had a problem with the optional challengers saying the stuff should be obtained through other means as well. it's frustrating.

Jesus Christ, it's just an option for people who physically cannot play games to follow the story with other users. Do you guys flip the fuck out in real life when you see wheelchair ramps, too?

Don't you know that providing alternative ways into a building is going to ruin it for everyone? Either you climb those stairs or you can screw off.

I agree but because my left arrow key is broken and I haven't bothered to fix it.

Down with tyranny etc. I would really like some WASD action up in here.

I will say though, I don't think it's wrong for subeta to make games based on the assumption that you own a computer and are capable of using its various keys and functions. HOWEVER I still dislike playing flash games on my barely functional laptop to progress in a plot, an opt-out would be handy.

As much as I want to be all 'everything should be equal for everyone always' right away, I have to say that does have a point though. There's not a thing that someone, somewhere, won't have difficulty with. I feel for people who are having trouble with certain games. But if the team had to do things that every single person in the entire world could do...there's just not a thing like that. Personally, I have trouble with the Gravedigger game because after a game or two, I get dizzy. But I wouldn't begrudge others who enjoy it just because I have a problem with it. The team does mix it up though, as in one game is mouse or keyboard controlled, one's arrows, one's battling and not even a game...at least they mix it up so everyone has a chance at something. And hasn't it been that most events, you don't have to do every single step? At least, you'll still get some kind of points/prize at the end, even if you don't finish every single thing. Yeah, it sucks that you can't do everything, but isn't that life? shrug

I...love you. XD

You give them wheelchair ramps and next thing you know they're asking to be recognised as human beings.. I won't be part of this madness

Replying to someone but not pinging them is super passive-aggressive haha.

Nope, I don't so long as they're reasonable. As I've pointed out (why is it that every time some people argue on here nobody actually reads my posts and just assume I'm saying certain things?) I don't have a problem with reasonable requests but many times on here they're not reasonable. It's, "This is problematic (usually it's not) and a very tiny portion of the users can't play it so NOBODY should be able to!" As I said in my first fucking post (and expanded on in my second), reasonable requests and trying to make things inclusive (to a point) = good. People being like, "No you can't do this because I can't," are ridiculous and it gets to the point where staff wouldn't be able to do anything because SOMEONE would be excluded. Like I said in, again, my first fucking post, you can't make things inclusive for everyone. It happens and it's part of life. There are things I can't do but I don't say that nobody should be able to do them. I realize that everyone has limitations and sometimes it sucks but it's a part of life.

Dare I say that some people are really entitled? Usually the people who don't read others' posts, assume they're saying something offensive (because everything is to some people) and whine about it lol.

First of all, I barely post on the forums. I have no idea that there's a difference between pinging and replying.

Second of all, I really like how you're calling people who physically cannot play the games 'entitled'. That's really telling, isn't it? All it takes is the staff to write a damn line of text saying "To skip playing this game, click here" with a link to the next page in the story, and you're posting like if we do that then the terrorists win. Nobody's saying that there should be no plots again ever. If you read the damn thread you'd know that.

Literally the only thing happening is letting people enjoy the site plot as spectators. How is that not a reasonable request? How is a group of people with a variety of physical disabilities asking for a single accommodation not a reasonable request? Like, do you honestly think this is some scheme hatched up to destroy Subeta from the inside out, like fucking ISIS infiltrated the user base or whatever? How the fuck does Subeta putting a message like "don't play this if you have epilepsy" or "read along here as a spectator if you for whatever reason can't play the games" hurt you in any fucking way?

Fuck this, I'm not even gonna ping you on this one. Not worth the effort to look up the code.

Just to clarify now that the news post is out and the skip option skipping prizes is seemingly settled/decided (and if you can't clarify /curse you but I get it c: ) - does not doing the -extra- achievements (like x ghosts, special ghosts, x spirits, etc) affect prizes?

And can we possibly know if games are going away after the plot?

It's interesting reading these comments. Coordination probs? check. Arthritis? check.

I had a severe concussion in a ski accident several years ago and the damn thing took away any sense of coordination I once had. I also have Osteo Arthritis in virtually every joint yet I'm getting through. Yes, it's taking me twice as long as everyone else because I need to take a break when my fingers are aching or flopping. I think the Team has been very generous with time limits and I sincerely appreciate that. I also think you healthy ones would have been rolling on the floor if you'd seen me trying to get through that boat course! I may have spent more time on the rocks than in the water but I reached the Spirits. Now if I could only get past level 15...

You actually did ping me because you quoted me with the @ sign. Apparently it's "worth it" to get your word in but not worth it to try to get me to see the post which just reeks of being passive-aggressive.

Anyway, yeah, the examples I gave are ones in which people are acting entitled. No, not every time someone asks for something that helps them due to a valid disability is them being entitled. I've explained this but you just want to jump down my throat because I didn't go, "Oh poor people with disabilities! We need to give them everything they ask for!" Again, it's not possible to make everything 100% accessible to everyone. That's just a fact of life. I'm all for the site changing some things to make them more accessible but again it's not possible to make everything accessible and sometimes people get really ridiculous in their demands. Again, my fucking point.

Here it is again: Not every demand is ridiculous but some are and that's what I'm commenting on. This thread is a ridiculous demand.

"I can't do this therefore nobody should be allowed to" is entitlement.
