So you said you'd be altering a couple of the quests last night, including Saggi. Did you intend for his quests to be almost exclusively costing more than they pay out?
I did all the Saggi quests today and ended up losing about 150k altogether. I probably would have skipped most of them but I need the quest points so I was okay with the loss overall.
I've been preaching about how not all quests should be profitable and that sometimes you will lose out, but overall it should even out and I feel you should get some net profit. I think Saggi definitely needs some more work at this point.

The old system was usually a couple rare items and the rest non-rare ones, and there weren't many complaints about the payout.
I don't know what's the purpose of revamping Saggi quests. If it's because of injecting too much sP into the economy, what about just asking for 1 (or 2 max) rare items with a decent reward? If Saggi's asking for 3-4 rare items, people are going to expect more than the price of that in return.
i think i've only made 30k of profit after skipping 1 or 2 quest out of 10. if saggi quest r not profitable anymore, maybe the sp limit to do his quest can be removed. :/
Hmm, maybe Carl just doesn't like me. lol I should change up the time I do his quests and see if that has an effect. I usually do his quests in the late evening, 10-11pm subeta time.
Edit: Ah, yes. That seemed to have worked better. The last few nights he kept asking for things that were over 50k (my limit for him). Then there was only a couple of items in shops to restock.
This time I only had to skip 4 and a good bit were actually in shops to restock. Looks like I hit a restocking slow down and most of the cheaper items have been bought up the last few nights.

I actually did okay with saggi today but it was probably more luck than anything. Did not keep track of how many I actually did, at least half of 15, but on three of them I could buy at least one item from an NPC shop for a lot less sP and for one I had a needed item in my own shop (though I would have done that one anyway and still made a profit). Lost sP on a single quest I tried only (about 70k loss) and ended with about a 400k profit. Carl was nice too. Don't recall the profit but it was good enough and I got 4 items from pickpocketing :)

I only finished one Saggitarius quest today, IIRC, and made very little profit. I miss the way these quests were before they kept being tweaked :/
I only did two quests. Just as a little project. I started out with 520k on hand. I ended with 460k. Like, two quests gobbled up 60k. If it costs me 30k a quest to do these ... like ... pass, man.

I didn't realize his rewards had changed, I just thought he was being mean. He's been asking for 100k-250k worth of items and giving me around 40k-80k back. I didn't keep notes when I was questing today, and I ended up skipping most, but I'll see if that update made a difference.
I think the big issue is that questathon ate up the price of a lot of rares, but with the vending rarity cut to r60, there aren't enough rares going out for the prices to deflate. So those rares are staying at high prices (I'm talking like many rares are over 100k) and Saggi asks for so many of these that it isn't worth it. Super rares are actually cheaper than the rares.
Just did my Saggi quests for today and again did all of them, ended up losing 350k today. I did get a payout of 207k which was surprising but most were under 100k and I obviously spent much more then that on the quests.

I really hope takes another look at these today. :(
Honestly I've been having an on and off issue with saggi's quests ever since the end of last Vesnali for the most part. Can't really chime in on how he's been behaving recently though because I have been purposefully keeping my sp below his mark to finish up Sarah's quests for the achievement, I just hope he's decent again by the time I finish that achievement and begin saving sp again because reading this thread makes me kinda glad I'm unable to do his quests ATM, I'd rather save my sp and spend it on things I need for collections and keeping low than lose most of my profits for the day because Saggi's quests, quite frankly, suck. :s
he/it | I'm afraid I'm a bit lost around here. | | |
Started with 1 million on hand.
Quit: 1
Overall Profit: -83k
Yeah - Saggi Isn't worth it. I don't know if its because of what he is asking for - since it seems like the same shit as before - of if the new cap on Vending is to blame + All the restock issues have driven restockers away?
Anyway it's not worth doing after you get the achievements anymore. Which is a shame. I earn more from the 5 quests I do for Shinwa than I did for 14 Saggi.

Was able to do only ONE out of 10 quests again today. -_-
Just thought I'd throw in my Saggi quests for today. I did all ten of them, because I've got a bunch of money at the moment and it's a good way to see what his average payout comes to.
Started with 22,265,651 sP Finished with 21,783,970 sP
So I lost 481,681 sP. Definitely not worth it, especially since the only reward is Quest Points, you don't even get items you can sell.
I also saw mention of Drunk Carl's quests, so I did those as well. I got pretty lucky - I bought a bunch of items (at least one per quest) from the main shops at lower prices than other user shops.
Started with 21,783,970 sP Finished with 21,964,650 sP
So I made 180,680 sP. Doesn't make up for what I lost on Saggi, but it looks like Carl's payout isn't an issue, at least not for me.
Hunting for: (It's the only beanbag I need for a full collection!)
Obviously the profit should be bumped up. I'd maaaybe dilute the pool to include normal rarity and boost the vending limit up to 65 to encompass all normals - it could help act as a soft cap and keep their prices under control.

Feelings about Saggi's changes. A snapshot from the SB:[/center]]Click and drag image to URL bar for larger image or right click and copy image URL and then paste into a new tab:
The way I'm feeling things to be is that sP is becoming harder to make on here and it's making me concerned that it's turning moreso into that taboo pet site that we all know and, heh, hate? Saggi was great for making sP. He asked for Rares and Super Rares and when they were given to him he almost always paid nicely. Now the way things are is that you pay out way more than you are now receiving as prize money. The end does not justify the means anymore. After almost 4 years I finally managed to figure Saggi and his payouts out. Now things are changed in such a way that he's no longer profitable and it's saddening, really. There was simply NO purpose or point in revamping Saggi. He was perfect the way he was and now he's just one of the most useless things on site.
Never did get item prizes from Saggi. He was always pure sP payouts

I pushed out some changes today, you should see increased profits from him tomorrow.
