We were talking about this with my friend who owns like 43 pets on her own so yes. I support this, especially the free extra ones once you start playing the game. Did someone mention Neopets ? I think I read something about it but I am not so sure and won't go back 6 pages back. Sorry if that has been mentionned before. If not, it is totally true that with Neopets we could have extra pets because of side accounts. I can't remember as I stopped playing maaaany years ago but I think it was a maximum of 4 pets per accounts and a maximum of 5 accounts, correct ? If so it would mean a FREE base of 20 pets. Here everything is stuck on one account so starting with only 5 pets and that you get to pay for more...meh. I am one of those who paid for extra pet slots from the Cash Shop and I am thinking about buying more when I get extra money but seriously, that'd be just...very nice yes please. I SUPPORT!

When I used to play on my old account, we had the magical plushies (Donadak and...can't recall the other one) for getting extra slots. (then account got deleted for inactivity but that's another problem) So I came back and I was a kinda old newbie here when they decided to remove the 'magical' feature of these plushies. Now on my board it is written :

Yes, the plushies section and new slot additions are all your paid slots. They're split that way because when it was first changed there were only 10 slots I think, hence "new slot additions," basically all the slots that were added since then.

Okay that's handy to know thank you. Actually for a long time I was wondering if I was limited to 10 extra pets only or not lol. Thank you, it is comforting me. :P

If you never used a single pet slot trophy, you can buy 25 pet slots from the cash shop, the first ten will appear in "pet plushies and old slots" and the last fifteen in new slot additions

I totally agree. As you can see my pets all but one have characters and designs and everything already. I have my 10 slots full, and I've only been here a week. I'll have to wait two whole years to get 1 more free pet slot? Please Subeta you're so close to taking over neopets for me if you would just let us have more pets. Neopets allows you to have 20 free pet slots. If you allow us 10 free and 5 per gold account you'd be 15 pets. And only 5 pets away from neopets.

How about making it that someone has to finish some things regarding Pets in order to receive 5 more free slots? Nothing like "win the Pet Spotlight" though, that would be bad. Maybe some 5 simple tasks that would also keep Users who want more Pets active on Subeta? Something like a note on the "Buy Pet Slots" page that gives you a link to another page where these tasks are listed and whenever you completed one it gets highlighted in green font like we have on Major Drills' Quests. As soon as someone finished these tasks, they can confirm it and get 5 more base slots for a total of 10? Gold Account Users can raise it to 15, and then you have to buy slots.

I was thinking of things like:

1. Have a Pet with 50 Treasure Slots
2. Train a Pet to Tier 3
3. Feed a Pet 100 different Foods
4. Read a Pet 100 different Books
5. Reach the top position of a Job in Job Center OR Use a Potion on a Pet OR Win 50 (100?) battles in Battle Coliseum

Something like this maybe? Maybe people who do these things will notice how much fun it is to battle and train their Pets? The BC needs more fresh meat as well. Or they think "Oh, feeding / reading is really great, I'll collect the Achievements!"

Keep the people busy in their first days and they most likely will stay.

Since I think who like pets will still want more slots and who wouldn't spend money on a site will still not spend money if the slots are increased, I don't see why not...

I like 's idea. I would love to see more pet slots for free but, at the same time, it would be nice to prevent people making 10 pets instantly and then abandon them/leave the site. It would be nice to show the fun about feeding, reading and training and then every person can choose what they like more and get reawrded with more pets.

This is true and you are given one extra slot when you purchase premium status (and you are only given four to begin with). If you cancel or it expires you are forced to relinquish a pet. As I heard it, the pound will keep it reserved for 90 days to give you the opportunity to buy your premuim status back but that's not much of a reimbursement. To be honest Neopets hasn't really held my interest in years and their pet slot policy has nothing to do with why they've been self-destructing recently. They were just bought out in Janurary I believe for the second time and all the original staff who had helped give birth to the site was let go.

Whereas here at Subeta when a Gold Account expires or is cancelled you can still keep the extra pets though technically the slots they are using won't exist anymore. I might have slightly abused that. I had a 'Loyaty One Week Gold Account Metal' or whatever the name of the item is which when redeemed gave me a week of free Gold Account status so I used that to create two additional pets with a full set of five. Countless times I've simply been able to abandon a pet I'm no longer interested in to free up a default slot for a desired new one but this time I just couldn't let any go.

I'm afraid I'm not informed on how successfully Subeta is profiting from the necessity to purchase extra slots but I'd say one additional default to make a nice even number of six should be satisfying and I like the idea of earning extras as achievements.

Anyways, I'm loving all the ideas for simple but fun ways to earn slots. I really think allowing newbies a way to earn at least 1 or 2 free slots on their first day(s) would go a long way to help get them hooked.

I don't remember Subeta's newbie experience anymore but I'm sure after 6 years its changed and doesn't matter, except for one thing. I remember looking at the price of things and just being completely stunned. I didn't think I'd ever be able to afford anything and I can't imagine that feeling has done anything but worsen. I don't remember what made me stay but these days there are sooooo many pet site options. If a site doesn't hook me immediately, gives off vibes of being impossible to get into so late, or seems very cash shop oriented I just leave, no matter how much I love the art/concept/whatever. But if I can do something meaningful like paint a pet, buy/earn pet slot(s), breed, etc I usually stay for at least a couple months.

Yeah but that is ONE. We are subetians who are spoiled and require multiples to be happy. As I continue to visit and read this board I am all down for slots that are tied to pet related achievements or an sp sink that increases as you purchase up to like 5 slots. However I am going to disagree now on just increasing the base. I like the idea of working for it, or allowing those who desire it another means to purchase.

Back when we joined, 500K from quests was a great day. Now, people are upset if they don't make 2.5M a day.

I don't have anything constructive to say other than the fact that I would love at least one extra base slot so that we don't have an odd number of pets! I'm kinda OCD, so it always annoyed me to see an odd number of pets on the pet page, haha

Which feels awesome, coming from Neo where 2m takes forever to get, but when you realize people see 25, 50, 100, whatever millions as like change/"not that much" it really blows the wind out of your sails. Even as an oldbie I can't wrap my head around it or imagine having that much sP. (Yes, I suck at making sP, I know.)

Yes plz I'm all for this I need more pets since 40 isn't enough for me. Give me 100.
