The idea is that we just release it with the cap, and then don't let you put new items in :) We won't be breaking apart shops or removing anything from them.
There will be a button to move your gallery to the new gallery feature where you'll be able to see all of the items in your shop + a list of all of the ones that have been moved, so there shouldn't be any deleted items or anything. Obviously we'll be testing a lot, with significant backups made to shops before we push anything :)

Key word: "shouldn't". That's exactly the kind of thing that could eat items if you're not extremely careful. :/

I feel like you should make a new announcement post to -officially- say that galleries won't have a limit. And also that there will eventually be a button transferring every gallery item to the new gallery system automatically.
Judging by the 4 pages of this thread, im assuming most of everyone hasn't seen this. It miiight help calm everyone a bit ;p
