: This latest episode of "The Stone Cold Rogues: Lost In Space" brought to by a grant from the International ADHD Foundation, the Vick's Vaporub Company, Robotussin, and Union Carbide, makers of fine forestry explosives. You know, if you can't make a joke about your screw-ups, what's the point of making screw-ups?

It's amazing how one's creative abilities are enhanced by consuming large quantities of cough suppressants, lack of sleep and low blood oxygen levels...(giggle)

The scores are in for Chapter 6 and the first post has been updated. As usual, quality was way high, which means I need to keep jacking up that difficulty. :D None of you were in any quandary about those films and, maybe with a helpful faerie nudge or two, all of you conquered the very tough logic puzzle. SO proud of this group!

So, here we go with the breakdown.

As always, your team's HAs were judged on:

 1. Suitability for the assignment given.
 2. Overall impact and effect.
 3. Use of items and presentation: mechanics of layering, shade matching or contrasting, etc.
 4. HA integration to palette of setting (or clashing with setting if appropriate to task.)
 5. Attention to and use of "those pesky little details." (Accessories!)
 6. Appropriate use of items in pre-established "sets." (Rowan fills in this information.)
 7. Look of style as fitting to character established.
 8. Make-up and hair fit and enhance overall look and style.

The solutions:

Holo-discs

 1. Casablanca
 2. Roman Holiday
 3. Citizen Kane
 4. It Happened One Night
 5. Topper
 6. Rebecca
 7. The Shop Around The Corner
 8. Top Hat
 9. Sabrina
 10. Pygmalion
 11. Jane Eyre
 12. Arsenic and Old Lace
 13. Waterloo Bridge
 14. The 39 Steps
 15. The Maltese Falcon
 16. The Thin Man
 17. Kind Hearts and Coronets
 18. The Corsican Brothers
 19. The Petrified Forest
 20. Gaslight

That Dang Puzzle

Rembrandt and the Artists/Jaxon Skelly/25mil/May Rosemary and the Birdbrains/Blonde Emma/50mil/June PaleLightning and the Stormboys/Calvin Blackmoon/30mil/July Mauve and the Lavenders/Sebastian Phoenix/38mil/August Delish and the Fashionistas/Esmerelda/40mil/September

My smail almost expired with the weight, but you all just kept coming. If you hit a "multiple" snag, you got the "Helpful Faerie" to steer you along. You had to submit first to let her know you needed her. She was glad to help out.

Moreover, if you hit the fact that Clue 8 was a bit strange, since, depending upon whether you were determined to stick one of the guys in the center to show who was Caniel, or whether you couldn't figure out why the heck it was there, since it was superfluous as written and told you nothing, you triggered the bonus.

At this point, the "Puzzling Faerie" showed up and gave you this:

Quote
A little faerie whispers:

"Please guard the Piano Player! That can&;t be the real manager!!! Congrats on solving the first part of the puzzle for the hidden bonus!

Now, the actual booking notes on the 8th clue says that band is Pale Lightning and the Stormboys! Oh, dear! There is a nefarious force at work!"

This gave a bonus of 350 to the first three to find that, and 250 to the others who were made alert by my message that it had been triggered.

(There was a Vesnali Egg here for anyone who pointed out that the manager had to be fake, since none of these guys was Caniel, but you had to do that before Chapter 7 started, so no one caught that. You all wanted to either just solve it, or, in the majority, tell me exactly who Caniel was. (Usually Pale Lightning, but sometimes Rembrandt. :) )

Anyway, congrats to the following teams for triggering the bonus: Fallen Angels, Foggiest Notions, League of Whovians (350), Nightowls, Raider's Folly (350), Reaver (350), Silver Legends, The Fellowship

Now, presenting the Top Eleven. Yep, one up this time, for this reason:

Quote
Since this was all about a fan gathering which the teams infiltrated, we felt that, in addition to our regular requirements, a new criterion came into play: the design needed to appear as though it was geared to a specific favorite group. So, Rembrandt fans needed a dark, Gothic or possibly Renaissance look; those for Rosemary should have feathers, possibly shaded hair, and/or wings; Mauve was obviously lavenders, furs, and/or bare skin, preferably with fur; Pale Lightning needed a storm look, even crackling accessories or bolts; and Delish needed either high fashion or lots of pastels, preferably both. We therefore classified our selections with the bands we thought they matched wonderfully.

Delish and the Fashionistas

Mauve and the Lavenders

Pale Lightning and the Stormboys

Rembrandt and the Artists

Rosemary and the Birdbrains

So you see, pictures can be important, in their own way. Please check your scores and let me know if I've made an error.

You were ALL sensational. This is where the going gets tough, and the scores become a rollercoaster, so hang in and enjoy! Browse the Squirrel's Bounty if you get frustrated, and you'll see you can't lose. It grows almost daily, too!

Congratulations everyone! Lovely winners! :)

See I'm useless on these vesnali eggs... I don't see how on Earth clue 8 was useless O_o And darnit I'm sure I'm not the only one kicking myself because of course it crossed my mind that likely none of them were Caniel but I didn't think it smail-worthy as bonus info XD

Thank you for revealing these bonuses to us, I think it has put new perspective on what I'm looking for in the future. I was waaaay off! LOL

I don't see how anyone could have figured out that nobody was Caniel in advance, nor that the manager was fake. shrug Also, I got information from clue 8, as from all the other clues save one. The superfluous one was 11, as all it did was let us know the last manager and the last pay amount, and could be done without. This one was a hard puzzle. Good job everyone on it!

Well, it seems you were right about going with a specific band. headdesk Haha, ah well.

Well, seems like a number of folks did. Clue 8, as written, is what led to some strange deductions that sent you down some blind alleys, and often put Rembrandt in the middle. Clue 11 was put in because, when I don't name each person or each element specifically, I get a lot of complaints.

At least in this case, I seem to be down to just one, so the odds got better for me. :)

I could make the argument that blind alleys were made by /any/ clue, since the total didn't add up. But I do see your point. ^.^ glomps This kind of puzzle is one of my favorites, but when I can't solve 'em I get obsessed. Sorry. ^.^;;
