Well, Maleria, then because she's supposed to be evil. :)
In regards to to the update from Keith, I'm more or less appeased. as long as the items stay affordable, I'm happy!
I'm confused. Why, exactly, is it bad that some people have a lot of quest points? Why does the number of points they have at any one time need to be limited?
I don't have a lot of quest points, but that's because I don't do quests every day. I'm not even on Subeta every day. That's how it should be. I'm not upset or jealous of the people who have more; if I want more points, I need to do more quests/make Subeta a bigger priority. The people who had a lot of quest points, I assume, got them from doing quests every day. They earned them. That's completely fair, and as far as I'm concerned, they can do whatever they want with the points, including not spending them if there's nothing in the quest shops they want.
I'm not seeing what was wrong with the old system.
I like the "do a decay rate in terms of rate of getting QPs."
and set the limit to 5k or 10k. i mean who really needs 10k points. at that point it's better to spend the points and hoard the items.
Hoard the items for what purpose? I don't want to fill my vault with stuff which would just be junk as far as I'm concerned.
I do all quests for 4-6 different quests givers in an average day. The reason I do so many is to get quest points. I have 25 pets that need all the books, that's a lot of points. I know that's abnormal and can't be what they base on, anymore than they should base it on the few people with thousands of points they don't use. But I know I will be doing less quests if diminishing QP returns are implemented for doing more quests.
at the same time, you are hoarding points for what purpose? having over 10k points at this point is overkill unless they revamp the QP item pricing.
I'm not hoarding points for the sake of hoarding them. I'm waiting in hope that there will be new stock I want to buy in the future. The QPs in the currency bank aren't taking up room in my vault. I hate having too many items in my vault because it's difficult to find stuff. So, that's why I'm not spending QPs on items I don't want just for the sake of using them up.
^there is no situation in which you'd need 10k points in your arsenal for a stock release unless they revamp the system. By allowing infinite points, they are essentially increasing supply without demand. Please keep in mind that I am still talking about having a high point cap. having a smaller point total changes argument.
Actually now that i think of it. I agree. Perhaps maybe have a decay rate based on points you have, after an arbitrarily high (1-3k? idk whats high) starting point.
Great. More quest shop items... 74 points in total to buy the ten new items.
I have done ~27 quests this morning and turned up two points total. I really hope this isn't going to be the norm...
There are people who might only do a single set of quests in a day (due to whatever reason.) Are they really supposed to be limited to maybe a point a day?
[edit] Okay, 37 quests today for two points. (Wizard, Saggi, Pete, Malaria)
[edit] Another 10 quests from the Library, and you guessed it, ZERO quest points.
We're at a 4.2% drop rate. Excellent...
(and btw, this isn't any sort of diminishing return thing- I only have 50 points.)
So does that mean, since some people have hoards of Masq trinkets, Vesnali tokens, etc, that we should only get 1 every time we click a link/give a flower
and also raise the prices to 100 tokens/trinkets per item
all because some people have stock piled their currencies?
Can we not, staff?
Because just saw Keith's post about that's not why it's decreased or something, idk I just want my QPs.

Yes this shit is ace. That way, people that aren't interested don't get more points. And people like me who buy 1/2/3 of everything can get everything.
If lowering the drop rate of quest points is supposed to discourage hoarding, it won't. I plan on hoarding the hell out of all my points and using them quite sparingly now that I know they come less frequently.
RE: decay rates. Nope nope nope. I try to keep an extra stock of event currencies because more than once I've realized I want All The Newly Released Things but don't have time RL to devote to Subeta that day or that week. I don't find it fun or relaxing to live by the seat of my metaphorical pants.
Instituting decay rates straight up prorates people's style of gameplay. I'd rather just not have quest points at all if that happens, because I'm not a fan of basically saying some people's efforts are worth more than others.
Just saw this because I'm lazy and didn't read the whole whopping four pages of this thread. I, personally, do all my quests for quests points (also sP because I don't need sP, I need QPs), and I would hate to see them get harder to earn the more you earn... because like... that's why I do quests... because I need quest points...
[edit] So I did all the questers I could do, including Quentin and Cynthia, who I don't usually do on a daily basis. It was kind of pathetic, I'll be honest.
Here are the results from my quests: ( in case you're interested in the numbers)
Wizard 15/15 - 1 QP Library 14/15 - 1 QP Cursed 14/15 - 0 QP Saggi 10/15 - 1 QP Maleria 14/15 - 1 QP Pete 14/15 - 1 QP Carl 11/15 - 1 QP Quentin 13/15 - 0 QP Cynthia 15/15 - 1 QP
I'm just, wow. Of the 120 quests I completed, I was only awarded 7 quest points. So that's what? Not even a 6% drop rate? Please please please increase this, it's not even funny.
kept track of my quests if you're interested in how it panned out for me c_c (not good)
Yikes! That's not even remotely good. I was going to potentially finish quests, but now I see that it's just not worth the effort.
Yes the same as, . Just did my quests, out of ~120, 7 quest points. You better believe I am going to hoard even worse.

Still performing multiple tests right now :) I've split users into three groups, with different odds (And one with hard set odds) to see how that performs.
💖 ✨ 🤗
My count today:
Wizard: 10/10 - 2 QP Pete: 10/10 - 2 QP Saggi: 9/10 - 2 QP Maleria: 10/10 - 2 QP Library: 10/10 - 2 QP Cursed: 9/10 - 2 QP
Around a 20% drop rate. Not splendid, but much better than yesterday. (Don't have time to do the rest of the quests right now.)
Wizard 15/15 - 3 QP Library 13/15 - 3 QP Cursed 10/15 - 2 QP Saggi 13/15 - 3 QP Maleria 15/15 - 3 QP Pete 15/15 - 2 QP Carl 15/15 - 3 QP Quentin 14/15 - 3 QP Cynthia 15/15 - 3 QP
125 quests completed - 25 quests points total - 20% drop rate Much better, thank you so much :3 (though I'm so greedy I'd prefer a 50% drop rate because I'll be doing all my quests every day in order to be able to afford the seasonal items murr)
( 20% drop rate for me, as well, and I did all my quests)
That's... not really fair.
I can understand doing this for A/B testing on layouts or other things, but to mess with someone's quest rewards or anything else that gives one group and advantage over another? :/
