I've got a couple of weeks off between graduation and the start of summer classes, so I'm trying to use the time productively. I promise to be less awesome once my day job starts back up. ;)
I don't really think it's possible for you to be less awesome okay :P More busy, sure, but not less awesome!
I agree with Reaper. Once awesome, always awesome. But business happens.
There are a couple things I have had in the back of my mind waiting for just such an occasion!
These are just ideas, if they are not feasible I trust you will say so.
had a THIS IS IN MY COLLECTION toggle. Maybe not those exact words. It has been a LONG time! Anyway, we had to get rid of it for some reason that I can't remember. it may be that it slowed us down. And if it causes problems for us now I don't want it but I would love to see if it is possible.
On the wardrobe collection page I would like to be able to sort items by use. IE food, books, anything else I can't think of right now.
A way to sort facial items by feature. Right now there 2873 in the face layer. Let's figure this out.
Pretty sure there are some other things I have been thinking about but I Can't think of them right this minute, of course.
We already have this! Right now, it's a "secret" feature that I haven't made public, but if you perform any search, and then change the word "list" in the URL to "newlist", I think you'll have what you want. Here's an example..
I used the code in the holiday shop feature, but it can be done for any search.
You mean wearable items with other uses? That shouldn't be too hard.
This is something I've started on.
P.S. Congratulations, !
Look at you, you secret keeper! Yes, that is what I was talking about. What I want. But, not to be rude, it is ugly. I like our normal item lists, how they look. Can't it just be added to that? In that style.?
Yup, that is what I mean
Thanks! Can you share how you are doing it? I mean, how you are sorting it, whatever. my words don't work right now. We were talking about how it should be or how we thought it might work. What are you imagining? Sorry to be so stupid/
Thank you! I thought I completely bombed the final for today's class and I've been stressed about it for 2 weeks because that meant I'd have too low of a score for it to count and have to retake the course, but I got soooo lucky haha.
Not much to report yet. I've just barely started on it.
There's a PHP function which can be used to test if an overlay is transparent or opaque at a given location. I've been playing around with this to see if there's a way to automate the process of going through all of these items to sort them as 'eye' items, 'mouth' items, etc. (Short answer: mostly. There are some items that defy the computer -- big goofy glasses and masks, mostly, that cover up much more of the face than just the eyes, for example. Still, it should be easier to tweak the misclassified items than to have to tag them all by hand.)
I haven't started working on an interface for this. I'm open to suggestions.
I still think the simplest thing is to have a checkbox for the section of the face that it is for and that only shows up on the user side, of course, if it actually IS a face item.
I don't think it would take too terribly long for us to sort them manually
Okay, what subcategories do we want? Do we want separate categories for 'left eye' and 'right eye'? Do we want categories for other layers or just face items?
I think we start with face and if we think it is needed later then sure. I also don't think it is necessary to have left/right
For items that would fall in to more than one category (mouth and cheek for instance) I think we should just add them to both sections. skip the combo list entirely
- I added some CWs this morning with the new page, and it worked beautifully! So quick and easy! <3
- Also, I wanted to say that I can start going through face items in two weeks and sorting them into categories. I'll have lots of free time once the school year ends!
thanks (: wooo summer!!!
Thanks for letting me know it worked for you.
[edit]30 May....well, no one's posted over the weekend, so I'm having to edit.
: You can now add tags to face-layer wardrobe items. Here's an example of a mask with the 'eye' tag applied.
You can edit tags for any face item. The page for editing tags has navigation links to the next and previous face items (I hope this will speed up the process of tagging items.) Don't like the tag choices that are available? You can add new tags to the list.
Right now, the only thing that 'regular' users can do is see the tags that we've applied.
Feedback is welcome!
This is handy! I added 2 more categories (lip and eyebrow) but I'm not sure how much we want beyond that (like, if we want full makeups, accessories, masks, etc) so maybe can weigh in on that.
I'm working on it now, started with the old to new arrangement of "list clothing" and "face" layer.
Woo! This is awesome! THanks for doing this!
The only question I can think of right now is this: will the user be able to sort and search by the feature (eye, mouth etc) ?
I added cheek
IDK about masks. I am kind of mixed on them lol. Users can already find them by searching Masquerade approved. For full makeup I think we should do them and just choose everything it covers. By accessories are you meaning piercings and that kind of thing? IDK haha. I wasn't thinking about that when we started talking this.
Yeah - like...most of the glasses and masks don't really take up the actual eye slots (so far I'm ignoring them unless they're opaque). And like...beards/sideburns/facial hair? I'm not sure what to tag and what not to tag. The makeups mostly cover the entire face (the ones I was in question about) - like the morostide makeup kits and such. So should we tick all the boxes or just make a 'full makeup' one?
A thought haha - is there any way to make the layer name editable? Because I called it lip - but really it should be mouth since so many of the mouth mods aren't necessarily lips.
That's an easy thing to add -- I haven't added it yet in case we wanted to make changes to how the tagging works first, but once we get enough items tagged for a sort feature to be useful, we can make the tags searchable/sortable. Right now, users will see the tags we've added, so they'll know something's coming.
I can edit tag names, but I haven't coded a feature to make it possible for other people to do anything other than add names. I've changed 'lip' to 'mouth' for you.
