Are they still listed as mini mods? From what I've seen, inactive mods were unmodded.
ah I found them. I wonder if they were just overlooked?
Perhaps the MMs are on a leave of absence? It's not like being a MM is a real job that pays the bills. Nor is a lack of MMs really something that should be considered a high priority in terms of the site. UAs can do everything a MM does, anything that someone would ask a MM to do they can make a ticket to have done.
Now, when we see UAs that haven't logged on for weeks coupled with users saying they are waiting days for tickets to be taken, then there is an issue. Currently? There is yet again a lack of focus on what the actual problems are :P
The urgency to fix small issues is an actual problem though. The minimod thing is just an example of a smal issue that would be easy to clear up that does not take any coding or debugging.
Other non coding related issues were brought up too. It fit the general theme of thread.Things can be broken even if they are running smoothly as they were programmed to. Many users want the smaller things to be fixed in a timely manner, and understand that bigger issues take more time. I do agree though, the minion thing could have waited until forums were solid and beta wardrobe was fixed. I probably won't ever do the minion battling thing, we already have pet battling.
Ok so new question: sometimes it can be really obvious that something is being worked on because the site starts throwing errors everywhere. Like right now, you can tell is working on the forums because of this beautiful mess:
But why does this happen? We know that the programmers each have their own dev server to work on, so why do these things spill over to the active site while they're still buggy? Aren't the dev servers there so you have a discrete testing ground, separate from the live site?
It's great to see that the forum lag is being addressed, but it's a pain to have to deal with these extra bugs popping up out of nowhere.

My fault. Most of the changes I'm making on my dev to combat the lag is cache changes, and the way that certain queries are pulled and then cached. So if I'm using the same caching names as I am on the main site, it caches the new queries which the code on the main site can't interpret.
I just pushed a fix so that it doesn't happen anymore (our dev servers will now put a dev:keith: in front of our caching keys so they don't make it to the main site)

Forums are broken/buggy/WTF-y again. Threads trailing off the "end" of the page, not being taken to my post when I post it and being dumped in the middle of the page instead, etc...
Not to mention those rows and rows of jittery "loading" symbols in place of posts. The hell? Way to trigger a migraine, there...
I, ah, hate to sound snippy, but... is anyone actually doing anything around here?
Those problems cropped up during Survival and probably earlier events, too. It has to do with the amount of people using the forums at once, afaik. (Also, I personally really like the loading symbols. They really seem to help the forum pages load smoother, from what i've seen.)
I'm not sure there's anything they can do for some of the problems, short of massively restricting what users are allowed to access during the event. But I do wish they'd at least find a fix for the white pages in longer threads and being taken everywhere but my most recent post.
ETA: Sorry for the double ping, Saren!
Another thing I'd like to see fixed: THE FUCKING DOUBLE POST ISSUE.
Oh dear god the loading circles waves of nausea
There have been z-index numbers off since last year at LEAST, making basic navigation through the drop downs nearly impossible on a handful of pages. Unless something is /way off/ in a way I don't get that shouldn't still be happening, particularly on the cash shop pages. The site looks a mess right now.

JESUS that actually scared me, dude put your face on ;A;

[edit]
forums don't like edits again

For real =.= it makes me dizzy!
The weird thing is I normally like spinning things? There must be something really off about the frame rate on this loading circle X_x
They don't just spin... They blink. It's only just but it's enough.
And they come in packs, one for each post. Yay. o_O I have go to a different tab and wait for the forum pages to load now.
The loading circles, oddly enough, don't make me feel sick or anything. But they do still bother me because if there are tons of people online I still get lag. They don't seem to have fixed anything except giving me something to look at while the page loads but then I get taken to a random post when they do load, not the one I made/the one I was pinged to, and the posts load out of order with the OP usually loading last. That's not super helpful when I only need the information in the OP.
