.. oh wow. that's good enough of a recommendation for me xD DAII is downloading yayy
Aww don't feel like you're an 'asshole gamer' for playing differently! Everyone has different playing styles - I'm usually into games for the writing and story rather than the gameplay itself and I think sometimes I probably care a little too deeply about fictional characters/worlds. I can even find joy in games where there's practically no gameplay and you just walk around exploring, granted there's a good story. Indie games are my weakness.
My Steam account is super Transistor themed :D Listening to "Paper Boats" and having strong emotions when the male voice joins in like ughhhh
I'm so glad things are better for you now <3 I managed to play DAO and DA2 with a controller but when I moved onto DAI I was like "I can't do this. I can't" since at the time there was no auto-attack and I was a dual-wielding rogue. I could never catch up to any enemies and attack them and Cass was always grabbing them and dragging them across the map! RPGs and their menus just make way more sense on a computer. And thank you, my trip was wonderful c: So much Dragon Age was played B)
Yes! X3 Essentially. XD You play as a Fereldan refugee (fleeing the blight). And you're in a city that hates refugees. It's lots of fun. It still has the somewhat weighty Dragon Age decisions (and there are consequences), but you're not in charge of an organization and you just kinda run around and do what you want. <3 Because that's what Hawke does. <3
Thank you! Oh gosh. I tried playing Dain's little dwarfy dual-wielding rogue on the PS4 and barely survived fighting one wolf (granted, I was on nightmare and she was like level 3 or something), but still. I don't think I could handle it. I stick to my ranged characters and my two-handed warrior on the PS4 when I play on there (my warrior usually just waits to counter attacks). I took away grappling hook from all my warriors... They lost the privileges. Dorian also lost his spirit mark privileges. grumbles They really do! XD I'm glad to hear it!
I have a preview (meaning, here's hopefully the finished armor, but it might change if it isn't accepted) for you guys... I'll ping the whole group once I get it submitted.
Done by
Armor of the Embarrassed Recruit
Would this quote be appropriate as the description (or are we not allowed to use direct quotes)?... "The poor recruit ran out into the dining hall in nothing but his knickers... He saluted. Turned on his heel. And marched out like he was in full armor."
looks great, can't wait to see the finished one ^^
And for all: My finished grey Warden (done by Sara Biddle for me)

hey, i bear the mark with pride P: i started playing DA2 like an hour ago and my hawke is already such a sassy little shit. sister died? time to make jokes. what a dickwad. i love it. what even are indie games? i never understood the term.
i just started playing and i sort of like it? gameplay on a device that isn't my PS3 is so confusing though ;___; i'm really hoping to meet isabella soon. oh shit, isn't grandpa elf in this game too? fenris?
huh. your warden is a beaut.
That's the finished version (assuming it goes through the first time). I might get some recolors done at some point (assuming that's a thing with custom wearables).
Milan looks amazing! :o
It's a good game. <3 I hope you enjoy it. The play style is a bit different from the other two games as well, I was able to get by (especially in the beginning) by just auto attacking stuff. XD You can get Isabella after you complete Anders's recruitment quest. :3 And yep! He is. XD Fenris I great.
it was okay for the short hour i played it but the graphics are so ugly ;w; cassandra and varric look so weird, wtf? is that because i don't have a gaming laptop or just because that's what they look like in II? how do you auto attack stuff? owo i've heard great things about anders ahh.
[edit] wtf why do i keep pinging myself
You can hold the 'R' key to auto attack and after battle it will auto loot anything in the direction you're looking. :3
I love Anders. XD And Fenris... And Sebastian too (though he's a DLC companion). It's the best when you have all of them together, yelling at each other. <3 (Or Varric and Isabella banter is pretty good too).
They definitely look different than they do in DA:I. They should look kinda like this:

Edit;; I submitted the armor a few days ago and it's pending approval. :3 So, armor didn't go through the first time, AreiaLure is working on making a few tweaks. We will probably split the armor into two different items if it fails to get accepted (a second time) after the tweaks.
Sorry I've been away guys. I've had a lot on my plate. My grandmother passed away on Friday and I've been working. But, I did finally get a working monitor for my computer and I have a new inquisitor to show off in a bit. X3
it's so quiet in here there hasn't been a single peep for two weeks
Goodness, I know. :c I've been editing my post a lot because of it. I think I last updated it on Sunday. XD
Edit;; Got slots up that I need filled in the next 24 hours. and pinged the group (hope you guys don't mind), see the ping for a forum link if you're interested. :D
Anyone else making new inquisitors? :3

I made a couple new inquisitors! But I also remade my original one because my new laptop makes everything look better and I wanted to experience the joys of romancing the nervous noodle man again, so I've been focusing on her mostly xD
More inquisitors oh boy
Piphine Cadash (aka Pip), a dwarven warrior that will probably romance Bull. I like to imagine she was born a surfacer with dreams of being accepted below, but she knew they'd never take her as she is so she had plans to become a Silent Sister. Her Carta family made her go to the Conclave anyway and know she'll never get her tongue cut out - cue Bull making lots of jokes about how glad he is that she kept the tongue :p

Rhys Trevelyan, a human warrior that is definitely going to romance Cass. My new computer makes colours look differently than it does on my old computer (the one I typically use for regular stuff) so I didn't realise just how damn weirdly coloured his eyebrows were ;_;
I'd go to the Emporium to fix it but he has a custom hair colour that will disappear if I use the mirror u_u
and my baby, Luana
now free of shiny hair and with a cute nose scar :3c
I've been playing a lot of other games too, yet I get drawn back to Dragon Age eventually every time.
Aw, they're all gorgeous! X3 I'm working on eventually updating my graphics card (in hopes of getting rid of the hair super-shiny-ness and no scars). I need to play my warrior lady some more for romancing Cullen (because he's perfect ;3) but I just haven't gotten nearly the same satisfaction from hitting things with a sword as I do from zapping them with magic. :3
I've been neglecting my other games lately tbh. XD I think it's just the weird mood I'm in. I need to get back into ME.
I think the setting you need to turn up to get rid of the shiny hair and lack of scars is the mesh setting? I think when I turned that up, the shiny hair stopped being a problem and I wanted to thank the Maker himself. With better graphical settings I just had to replay my main because the SCREENCAPS. I feel like such a loser, screencapping every single cutscene (I even turned off subtitles for maximum pretty screencappage)
I feel that way about the weapons but instead of enjoying magic, I just love being an archer. I like being able to move while I'm attacking, plus I can take a dragon down on my own this way. (I had to find that out the hard way, thanks team for dying and leaving the rogue by herself). Enemies moving around has no effect on an archer because wherever they are, you can hit them B) So similarities between mages and archer rogues, u feel me
I've been neglecting Mass Effect as well and I feel so bad about it ;_; I'm just so bitter about the change in control scheme from 1 to 2. Switching between DA and ME is not easy when the keys are different and the longer you put a game off, the more you forget what anything even does xD
Oh, awesome! I'll try playing with that setting to see if my computer can handle a higher setting than it's currently on. It's really weird. Cullen's scar shows up and so does Bull's... But not my inquisitors. (I completely understand, I'm just as loserish about my screen caps and whatnot. I just couldn't turn the subtitles off on Will's PS4 without getting fussed at... But now. X3 )
I completely understand, archers are perfect in DA:I, I love playing them so much. XD Ena was my precious archer baby. I actually just finished her play through last weekend (my first complete one of the bunch). I need to get my newer archer up to her specialization, then I'll enjoy her more (I love assassin archers). So much fun. But yeah, I'm definitely perfectly at home playing any sort of ranged character in DA:I. (I switch to Sera or Varric when I'm playing warriors and feel like the computer can handle it better then me).
I've been doing the same. ;n; I need Will to nag me about playing. Ugh, I know. :c I feel like I'm going to be super lost when I get back to it. XD
I think the scars on Bull, Cullen, and Cass are part of their texture and therefore not optional - like no matter what it renders because it's a part of their skin. The scars on characters like Threnn and Harding probably don't show up on lower settings because it's the opposite of the companions. It's not part of their skin texture by default On my first laptop, even when characters like Cullen didn't render entirely and they had weird faces, the scars showed up so yeah it's just part of their textures that can't be altered by low graphical settings. The scars are just that integral to their designs xD (they also look different than the kind of scars the game lets you have, more proof that it's a texture, not from a slider)
Originally my Luana was an assassin archer in my first playthrough, but just for kicks this time she's a tempest. I don't think I unlocked a lot of the assassin abilities because after getting all the archery abilities, I enjoyed a mix of the subterfuge and sabotage abilities to complement it. (Poison weapons are so handy! Plus throwing sleeping powder and being able to roll out of the way of those nasty Terrors)
Were you still on ME1 or did you make it to 2? I'm curious to know who your Shepard will romance ;D
That's true! I hadn't thought about it, but that's definitely happening on my computer. (It is kinda funny that Cullen, Bull and Cass will always have their scars). Another, kinda funny issue my computer is having: if people aren't fully in cutscene mode they all have the same (really weird) face shape. I might have to get a screen cap of it. It was hysterical to me when it happened to Fiona.
Oh, nice! I think I did the entire archery tree and the entire assassin tree (including upgrades) with Ena. XD I'm just now (at like level 22) starting to get other branches. I love throwing knives (or blades) on the assassin tree. Probably my favorite ability. Oh nice! I used knockout powder on the assassin tree in place of sleeping powder a lot. XD I missed having stealth though. That might be something that I get (to sneak up on dragons). X3 Leaping shot saved me from the terrors. XD
I'm still on ME1. XD I've been making really slow progress, sadly. I think I'm sticking with Kaidan for this play through. I have another Shep that I'm planning on romancing Garrus with though. :3
I just wish I knew how Cullen got that damn scar! I mean the gap between DA2 and DAI is so small, he had to get it in between the games and I'm dying to know how that came to be. My friend and I like to joke that he accidentally fell on his sword or something equally as comical. And yeah, in cutscenes when it takes a second to render (if it renders at all) they all have strange face shapes that are mostly devoid of emotion. The first time I played Here Lies the Abyss, in the scene with Clarel beating on Erimond her face was so weird looking and then it just snapped back to how it actually should be. Another fun thing was how in some scenes Dorian's little soul patch thing would migrate north to his lower lip xD Even though the game looks icky this way, it's still pretty hilarious.
I only ever managed to fill the whole archery tree because I wanted bits and pieces of the others. It's nice that there are all those passive abilities that confer nice benefits but I want more moves to use in battle! Playing DA2 on the PC is sooo nice because you can use most of your abilities any time you want. It's not restricted to the hotkeys, though you have to click them instead of pressing a number. I wish there was room for more than 8 moves in DAI :/
Leaping shot is great for the terrors but sometimes I won't have the stamina or it'll be on cooldown so I just roll right out the way and it looks hilarious. I felt so bad when I had to turn Kaidan down and I accidentally locked in with Liara. Since she's not an LI in ME2, I feel terrible going after Garrus but he's who I really wanted uGH
XD I know, right? Maybe I should make up a story to put up on Cullen Rutherford's profile about getting that scar. XD I'll have to come up with something equally as funny. laughs I think Fiona's face went to a Solas (or maybe an Abelas) looking face-shape that was completely blank. I was highly amused. Oh my goodness. XD The migrating soul patch. (I may have to name a staff for him after it). If the game is going to look funky the best way to do it is in an amusing way. I remember DA:O turning my warden transparent but still showed her eyeballs regularly. (Beware the floating eyeballs).
I didn't even realize that! (I'm not far enough that I've used up all my slots yet), but that's awesome! I wish there was more space too. :c I love my passive abilities, but I'm definitely with you on wanting more active abilities. cx I hold off on a lot of passives until I've filled everything out (minus the ones that I need to get to the other attacks I want).
The main issue I've got with leaping shot is that my inquisitor won't always leap. XD Other than that I love it. I completely know the pain of too little stamina though. XD I had that issue with dispel earlier when I was trying to fight red templars.
Aw, poor Kaidan. He's such a sweetie. Liara is quite lovely too though! cx And Garrus. It's going to be a struggle getting through ME2 without romancing anyone (since I think I'm going for Kaidan the whole time).
We also joke that the reason he won't romance Qunari is because he tried once and the horns gave him the scar - I'm just convinced it's something ridiculous and therefore it remains unexplained. Embarrassed!Cullen is the best Cullen though, so he needs to fess up.
We should all have Migrating Soul Patch staffs! It needs to become a fandom joke, though most people are probably lucky enough to have better computers (like I do now) or the right gaming console to support the game xD
Ahh the floating eyeballs are the best! One time my friend and I were playing with the flycam in DAI and we zoomed into Cullen's head and gave him floating teeth and

"I can endure it"
Yeah sometimes they don't leap or because where they will leap isn't even, the game FREAKS OUT and sends them flying across the map to someplace level. Sometimes I'll use the move because I saw a terror go into the ground and then it'll attack someone else instead and I'll have to wait, giving another terror ample time to knock me over. Absolutely unfair!!
Sort-of related but I was playing the Sims and making Dragon Age sims and I'm pretty sure this was the best design choice I've made
