yes I just got this wig from there :D I just love it so much - its quirky like me lol
yes! it was a dessert rice. I love how creamy it gets.
Yes! my travel HA. I was going for a bit of french flare. Having never been there, I wasn't sure if it would be obvious or not. So I'm happy you could guess! :) I'm wishing for some french macaroons right now. No one here makes them and I'm nervous to try making them myself without tasting one to see what it is suppose to be like first!c
French Macaroons? Er. Well, they taste of almonds and whatever flavor you've added. They're slightly sweet but not like a cookie or anything. More like a berry, that faint hint of sweet. They're crispy on the outside, like puff pastry but gooey beyond that. But they're very light. They're very tasty but take a lot of work to make. Have you looked up any recipes online for them?
I can only imagine how much work getting your hair to do that in rl would take. But it is a very pretty style.
AHH, they looked very...thin. I was thinking mostly pretty to look at and good with tea perhaps.
I've looked at recipes and watched them made a few times (videos), but it looks very technical. I'm a good cook and can make almost anything I've tried to make, but it usually helps to have an idea what I'm suppose to have an end product like which is hard without seeing or tasting something! I may try them someday. Once I get a little more brave. :)
I don't think they were that thin. They're probably about as thick as two fingers, one on top of the other. At least the ones I had were. Maybe it depends on the chef. I know they are very fiddly. I don't know if they're worth the effort that goes into them but maybe I'm just not the target for that kind of sweet. I know what you mean about the taste test. It does help make things as well as create new ideas. Sometimes though it's worth trying to see how you do. Sometimes you can make something even better than the original. I once added condensed milk to a cake mix and it made the most delicious cake I've had in years. I try not to use that recipe if I can avoid it. Do you have a favorite thing to make?
Thin was probably not the right word. I meant there wasn't much substance. Light and airy? That's more what I meant. The macaroons are very pretty, but yes. I don't know if I'd love them if I had them or not. And if they are super fussy, if it'd be worth it if we didn't like them that much.
I am not sure what a favorite would be. I love cooking with fresh produce. It is so colorful and makes me happy. I love working with a lot of different ingredients and making my food pretty. I almost always cook from scratch and am a vegetarian so there's always the fun challenge of "converting" good looking recipes into something we can eat. This year, I'd like to learn to make more asian-inspired foods It not something I grew up with-- my mom cooked more americanized European style foods-- but I love asian flavors and would like to expand into that "world" next. I still would like to cook authentic ethnic dishes from a lot of places though. So we'll see.
As for desserts, I'm currently in search of the perfect not-too-sweet filled cupcake. And I'd love to make my own doughnuts. Mostly for fun. I'm more of a fresh fruit person myself. But my hubby likes doughnuts and they are fun to make, just need a bit of skill to make them "perfect".
What about you?
Ah. I see what you mean. Yes they are very light. More something you'd have with coffee as a small pick-me-up than as a dessert. Thing about macaroons is you need to try one before you can be sure if they're for you or not. I like them but they're a bit much for me to make them.
I agree with you there. Fresh is best for flavor and health. I'm more of a taste person rather than a look but I still enjoy an elegant piece of work. But I always feel bad when I spoil it by taking the first bite. I'm no vegetarian but I do enjoy exploring vegetarian foods. Have you heard of the Japanese dish Katsu Curry? It's made with rice, vegetables, lots of curry sauce, picked vegetables and usually some form of steak cooked in breadcrumbs and then cut into strips. Recently they've been making it with slices of butternut squash, obergean (I think they're called egg plants in the US) and sweet potato all cooked in the bread crumb. The breadcrumbs are crunchy and the veg soft and with all the sauce it's delicious. I must confess that half the time I go for the vegetarian choice because it's so tasty. Most of my favorites involve meat though. My granny was from a farming family so she made sure I tried all kinds of things but she didn't see the point of a vegetarian diet. I don't think I could break the habit now. Not too sweet filled cupcake? Have you tried blueberry filled? If you crush fresh blueberries and don't add any sugar then the cake helps act as a counter to the tart of the berries. Doughnuts are always good to learn. You can bribe anyone with a home made doughnut. At the moment I'm trying lots of new things so I can increase my range in terms of cooking. I've been using the old favorites too many times. I'm learning how to grill, roast and do all kinds of things with vegetables. Like adding swede to mash potatoes. Bread is my focus as I like adding things to them before I cook the dough. Like I add sausage to the dough while I'm kneading them and you've got a roll which you can just put in a lunch. You can add cheese and mashed potato to them too for something different. Or mix up a vegetable stir fry and wrap portions of it in the bread dough and then cook for a quick snack. Mostly it's experimenting with me.
Am now dressed up for traveling. lol wand, magic, bags and cat. though i think i have too many bags. I should have one small one that i magically contain everything with. hmm... oh well.
hahaha I really like it! :D What's the name of the Harry Potter cat? o:
Sorry I was away over the weekend :( It's been a very busy one with a large amount of no sleep. One of my best friends had her first child over the weekend and was in labor over 33 hours. Both her and her husband had asked me to stay with them at the hospital and well, no sleep because we were on baby watch. It was an exciting, yet huge learning experience for me. I had to stay in the delivery room during it and bring comfort to my friends. They had a beautiful little girl named River :)
Anyways, sorry about the ramble! Who would like to take on the next idea for the HA challenge? I'm loving everyone's HA's right now ❤
Loved the story! Best of luck with the contest :)
Ooooh! All that talk about food is making me hungry :( :P It's all good. I've got to start cooking soon so I'll eat eventually.

Oh thank you! It's I have the original three pokemon (bulbasaur and squirtle too) because I'm a huge nerd And I just found this wig in the pawn shop and fell in love with it.
I'm doing really well. Currently freaking because I made an appointment for my tattoo today and I'm so scared to actually get it. Like, I die a little inside thinking about a needle =o ... I'm equally afraid of my mother after she sees it.
I have a tattoo on my left arm between my wrist and elbow. A cross in memory of my passed loved ones with a rose and a ribbon wrapped around it. I felt as it meant something to me, I'd never regret it. I have it in black and white and that's how I want to keep it.
What are you getting?
Here is my travel HA exploring the world on my bike :)
That's great news! Congratulations to your friend and her husband! :D I love this HA very much that I don't want to change it! XD But sure thing! I'd love another wardrobe challenge :D Aww thank you! hugs We'll get the contest's results tomorrow c:
awww, congratulations to your friend! I had a very long labor too. For the people who were there the whole time, I'm sure it was a really long day. So sweet of you to stay and support them. <3 <3
I love experimenting with food. It's just so fun! Flavors, smells, and pretty colors. Love trying new things. I grew up mostly with vegetarian food, so I'm use to it. You can do a lot with it and there's lots of flavors for sure. I have heard of Katsu and the way you make it sounds really yummy!
I was just looking at recipes to try and saw something similar. Hmm. I need to get to an Asian market for some of the proper spices but I'm excited to try some stuff!
How is everyone?

similar to that size and design... but instead of triangles, I want a lotus in the middle (a symbol of something beautiful coming out of a bad situation) and then on each side where the smaller triangles are I would want an orange ribbon and a teal ribbon (to symbolize MS and TS which is what me and my brother have)
