yeah, I made sure to get a soft plastic case for mine, to help protect it if I did drop it - there's plenty of places that say they do repairs, but I dread to think how much that'd cost!

that sounds like a pretty good idea - I made Mum a case for her phone, but you can't use it in the case so she's got to be careful not to drop it while she's trying to use it ;)
