My favourite you showed me is 3799. I did find a website that teaches you how to make a patten. You basically trace around your own shirt you like the most and then add 5/8 inch for seams. Then she shows how to hem and stuff so that is another option. Or mum said taking a dress pattern i like, and just cutting it at whatever length i want for a shirt. So there's options there.

nods I've seen those ideas for the shirts, but never tried it - if you can get some relatively cheap stretchy fabric, that might work well to test it out :D But the dress idea sounds like a good one - as long as the dress isn't too fitted in its shape, you could definitely just make it shorter for a top ;) :D

There's a top on a blog link that looks similar to 3799 - they actually go through how to make the pattern based on a shirt you already have (although it does seem quite complicated reading it through for the first time).... also there's the Pillowcase Top (you could always use fabric rather than a pillowcase :P)
