: I'm hoping that all of you with Irish heritage are able to celebrate the Festival of Saint Patrick in peace and joy. While most of my heritage is Germanic, there is a some Irish blood running through my heart. Weldon is quite Irish, ( historically, his surname is Saint George, but it was shortened to George when his clan came to America. ) and so we celebrate with a modest dinner of Colcannon, stew, and ale at home. Then everybody heads on down to the Burrow Inn for an evening of dancing, hearty breads, cheeses, stout ale and fine Irish Whiskey that Brew Master Poppy Wheezle manages to get his paws on from our human friend, Bridget O'Riley-Wald, the local Game Warden. Sparky and his band mates know all the old jigs and reels, ballads and sing-along songs and they make it a right proper Cèilidh of sorts.

One more day before Holiday! I have Final Clinical Rounds with all my apprentice healers tomorrow morning and then I will give final exams. It looks like all will pass and earn their Journey Level I healer's badges and swords. ( yes, all Journey Level craft and trade creatures earn a sword along with the badge of their trade. Healers earn a navy blue cape to protect them from the elements whilst on 'den calls' ). Then I am off duty for two glorious weeks of rest. Welly and I are thinking of spending some of our time with my Author and his mate Francine. They had talked with us a few weeks ago about traveling up to the Northern California Redwoods and riding the Skunk Train, a very famous steam engine. I will know more after Holiday starts.

In the meantime, it is still the Feast of Saint Patrick and there is still some ale to enjoy. Boy oh boy the music is wonderful tonight. All the dancing is filling me with eager anticipation for Masquerade!
