Sorry but I do not change my pets so do not know much.

The Experimental Dew does exactly what it says. Experiment is a species, not a color. Scribble is a color, not a species. The Experiment species, many of them come in Scribble and in fact this is one of two other colors than Common that they come in the other one being Chibi.

Now, if you zapped to get an Experiment, odds would be decent that you'd get one that's also Scribble, and you'd get the Achievement without paying for a Potion of Purity too. But Experimental Dew is not a zap.
