That's an interesting way of putting it. :O I guess it depends on how many people are going for the wardrobe achievements v. really wanting the item to keep and wear? This should definitely be considered if this idea were to be implemented. :3

The thing is I'm assuming most people wishlist a wearable because they want to wear it, so if they can get the item for cheaper, why wouldn't they get it? I finally managed to go through the entire thread and I agree with you about the item being valued differently as a result of the new locked price (5mil locked version v. 15mil regular seems like a no-brainer to me if someone wants it solely to wear it, of course I realize that's just an example and even if the discount was less extreme, it's still meant to be a discount). Granted, I may be underestimating the want for that option to take the wearable out of the wardrobe.

It really makes the wardrobe seem more like a collection when it wasn't supposed to as items aren't bound to the wardrobe like they are with plushies, beanbags, cards, etc. ;l I'm just rubbed the wrong way by this. Even if Keith did it so the sp sink on locked wears would last a day, it would introduce an unnecessary difficulty to selling the regular item. Unless someone really wants a wear right this second, they'll risk waiting for the locked version if it means a discount (unless the discount isn't all that great then this point is probably moot). I know I don't want to fork over more than 250 csc's worth for a hair coupon I want because I know the hustler has been stocking retired coupons for 250 csc and I can afford to wait. So I'm speaking from that point. Maybe this idea isn't as big a train-wreck as it sounds like in my head, idk. xD Right now, it seems highly convoluted when there are better sp sinks everyone else already mentioned. :)
