And I 100% get what you mean! Whenever people ask if I'm married or if I have kids, I'd give them an assertive and almost angry "no", I really can't help it xD. That can be misunderstood sometimes, but it usually just shuts them up for any further discussion of the matter.

BTW, I am watching Black Mirror. And I really like the second episode from season 1 so far (it was really weird in the beginning, but I love the ironies in the ending).

oh lord i feel you on complex/annoying designs. my two character design strengths are "non-conventionally-attractive men over 30" and "humanoid monsters with annoyingly complex designs"

and while i don't really have many examples of the latter on subeta (tho i've toyed with making a few more on here), i always get nervous when im about to commission someone because i'm always afraid they'll be like "holy shit this is the most annoying thing i've ever drawn."

god ok the more i think about it, the more i really want to bring one of my monsters onsite. gonna go brainstorm what color/species combos would suit him, just for fun...

that's awesome though, i've never actually seen the monster designs for dead space (it's one of those games that i'm always aware exists but i'm not entirely familiar with). now i kind of want to give it a shot. you could say i'm a fan of survival horror done well ;)

So, I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've recently found (or, remembered, I guess) that it's really hard for me to work on my pets on here when their profiles are broken (or if they have no profile) |D; Luckily the layout I use is fixed so I'm a-okay right now, but yeah... I'm super thankful for the dreamsky profile, though. I can't code worth a damn, plus I really like it (it might be too simple/bland for some peoples' tastes, though it suits me well enough).

I don't have anyone driving me crazy right now, though I've been debating on what I should do with Nola for awhile now. Originally she was going to be a character that was going to be a reverse of The Little Mermaid fairytale (princess that falls in love with a merman, and eventually becomes a mermaid), though I wrote her story forever around and... Well, honestly, it was written in two parts and that was over a year ago now, so I think if I continue writing it, it'll sound rather... disjointed and a bit uneven in style?

So I've been debating if I want to delete her old one, and start over new, or if I could to scrap the whole thing and go into a new direction with her character. I have a character I would give her, if I do that, but I guess I don't feel particularly strongly about either idea, so I'm kind of conflicted right now.

I have no prolem with working on my pets, when they have no but it is a lot easier for me to work on pets I have allready art for or at least some example pictures I use as some rough references how they look like.

If you feel your style has changed a lot.. I would take the story you have allready and try to rewrite it ? So your stile matches when you continue. At least that is what I woould do. It allways helps me to come back into the whole character and makes the writing later on easier for me.

The recent coding change was so fucking annoying :(. But I'm glad you got your profiles fixed!

I've been in similar shoes with some pet characters. I guess, for me, it's mostly depending on if I still like the characters/story, and if they are beyond fixable or not. Sometimes I find it helpful to clear the profile, and leave it blank for a while. It's a simple move, but it helps me to clear my head, and also kinda helps me decide if I miss that character or not.

I hate those layouts. I mean I dig that such a thing can be accomplished with just coding and some of them are really cool looking (like one of those PC click styled games or something) but actually trying to deal with that nonsense to read something it's like hell naw! There's a reason those style of video games, idk, HAVE A HUGE POP UP WITH THE CRAP TO READ ONCE YOU'VE LOCATED IT. Because ain't nobody got time for that otherwise |D

I'm fortunate enough to be able to (usually) fix my profiles when someonething breaks them, but most of the time it's my own laziness/lack of time that henders my profiles xD!

That or a names disinterest in working with me. That happens often enough (too, often).

So good news, I finally finished Voodoo (CLICK!) , but I'm not sure if I'm entirely satisfied with his story. I like it, I really do. But I'm second guessing myself (as usual!) and I keep wondering if I can do better. I've reread it several times and even my sister read it and we both agreed it was good, but something about his character feels off.

I wonder if it's because the story is set /before/ I started roleplaying with his character, so he doesn't have the character development I added later on yet. Has anyone else had this problem? Or is it just me being a little hard on myself? 😩

Aw I think a name that stops working happens to the best of us |D A lot of my my pets are WIPs so usually if a pet is causing me problems, I put them on the backburner, until I feel that there is really a problem or if it was just a general lack of inspiration. Although I imagine this might become more of a concern, as I work on a lot of my pets, and I don't have the rotation anymore. I'm back on college, though, so I doubt that is a problem that will be appearing quickly though |D;

That's not a bad idea! I might have to try that. I know on the flipside though, even if I revamp Nola, I can always use her TC items for Finn, since his character is a selkie and there is a lot of overlap between the two. plus it might help me weed out a lot of the overly "cartoony" items... Somehow, those always end up in my pet's TCs. Funny how that happens And thankyou for the Birthday wishes as well! ❤️

I really like it! Maybe if you added something in, like a tidbit on what he has done since...? Like, you don't need to discuss the roleplay, but you can probably make it open-ended at the end. What's happened in the roleplay... As far as his development - does he have an overarching goal/quest before him? Like, if he decides to use his powers to try to find a way to atone himself, or to break the deal, or whatever. Just that little tidbit, at least the hint of future development - even if it isn't going at it in length - might help tie it.

there's nothing quite like holding onto super old character art, then busting it out one day several years later and just screaming. scream the pain out. but yeah i totally remember at least one piece of royal kougra art, and when i saw his overlay i was like IIIIIII REEMEMMBERRRRRRR THIS PET and suffered some serious mid-00s flashbacks. unfortunately (fortunately?) i've lost most of my art from that time period due to numerous computer switches/hard drive crashes in the past decade, but i have one surviving piece !!one piece!! that stands out as the first pic i ever drew of this particular character and hooooooo boy the embarrassment i feel when looking at it is so thick you could cut it with a knife

and that's a great segue into me saying i'm at the point where i'm pretty sure i'm going to make a new character on here, and by 'new character' i mean 'one of my oldest surviving characters' and if we're getting even more specific, 'a pet i had on my old subeta account before that was wiped out of existance'

and with that in mind, does anyone want to reassure me that 3 neelas is not too many neelas? because i feel like this guy would be ideal as a glacier neela, but i already have 2 existing neelas and i'm not about to change either of them. like in theory i could just say to hell with it and go for glacier devonti but... neela would just be so much more appropriate.

Clining to old character art is nothing bad ^^. I do that with some of mine as well cause they give me that nostalgic feeling and allways is a nice reminder how long I have that guy allready and how I imagined him in the beginning.

I finaly was able to start a bit on Justus's story. It is not much but at least it is a beginning. Also I was able to make some dragon art for him, which still is far from beeing finished.. but all that scales ;_;
