Ah yeah they do seem a little heavy for the lanyard sometimes too I haven't really thought about how I plan to keep them once I start collecting again
I'll probably look into those metal screw backs though Either that or a keepsake box of some sort
Actually I believe I lost them in a house fire, unless I packed them away before that happened. I had an awesome Maleficent pin and a Nightmare Before Christmas one that I was a big fan of.
My mom and brother each have a pin from our last trip in February (I was out of work so I didn't get a chance to purchase anything) and my brother's is a super cute Elvis Stitch. We used to collect as a family so that was the fun part P:
That is a huge bummer that you lost them. :/ I've got a super cute Marie from the Aristocats. I've only been to the parks once and I was with my high school marching band, but it was such a blast getting to talk to the cast members about their pins and trading with them.
Yeah, I've been browsing on ebay and Amazon though so once I get a job I'm hoping to rack up on some again haha
Awe, I love Marie <3 I don't think I've actually traded with cast members, but the next time I go I'll have to! That sounds like tons of fun!
IT IS! You get to know about them and sometimes they have cool stories about how they got their pins. I love it!
I used to. Now I have too many. I want to sell them all, but last time I looked on ebay, they were selling for less than I even got them for, and I'm like what the hell man, these are OLD, shouldn't they at least retain value? ;l
I collected mine when I went to the park because they made it a little more special feeling to me. I'd get one for all of my favorite rides!
I'll definitely have to give it a go then! Thanks for giving me some insight into it ^^
Maybe if you sold them as a lot? Some of the pins sell for WAY too much as well, it's kind of a hit and miss
Ah that sounds like fun! I used to collect just my favorite characters and I got a lot of mine from Animal Kingdom cause it's my favorite park <3 Magic Kingdom seems to have a lot more of them though from what I've seen.
Considering there are hundreds, I'd have to sell it for a lot if I did sell them all at once. :l The worst thing is transport, because together, they weigh a lot haha. xD
Are they limited edition ones? :O I haven't bothered checking prices in a while.
Yeah a lot of the special edition ones sell for a couple hundred at least Like this one for instance Granted you have to search for ones that have sold to get a good estimate on what they're really worth, not so much what people are asking haha
Oh, that's quite a chunk of money for one. :O Oh my! I can imagine people trying to rip others off. :c That's good advice!
Ah yeah lol There's lots of over 100 pins going for a couple thousand too If you do a search, there's single pins going for at least 150 and lots going for at most 500 So yeah, it's better to do a search of sold pins haha
But you're welcome :D If I had means of income I'd certainly purchase some from you for sure!
I've been actually finding some at yard sales here lately! Found a whole booth of Disney pins!
I'll have to check that out! I honestly didn't even think to check yard sales or garage sales to be honest. Thanks for the tip!
I'd be interested in buying some of you ever threw them on eBay. I'm wanting to build up a nice collection and pass them down.
Thanks, you guys! c: I took a look at the sold listings and wow, those are some cheap pins. I paid 5-7 each and to see old pins sell for less than 3 dollars is like what? At least retain most of your value, you know? |D I wouldn't even want to profit, just get most of my money back lol.
I know there is pinpics[dot]com but i really dont know where else. I've only ever collected/traded when i was at Disney.
when there used to be Disney shops in the mall and they had 'pin trading days'. You know like at 8am on Fridays...or something. I dont know if they still do that. There is not Disney stores in my area, so you might have to do some digging.
Also you can get pins at Disney stores....thats where i got a lot of mine. If not in store, i think you can get them online. Idk if they stopped doing that though. When i traded, i had bought a lot of limited edition store only pins to bring to Disney to trade.
Best of luck!
