No, it's pretty old. Think of it like this, the world was created, and then men found it in the Egyptian/greek times. The pyromancer kingdom fell during the Crusades, Rous and the gang found it in the midevil times, and now they are in the Colonial era. Make sense?

"Yeah, yeah, I know the tale of the creation of the world," Nikki said, sounding bored. She considered the gloves in her hands, and made a face. "But how'd you get it /in/ you?" She wondered if whatever they had done might be duplicated. The power of fire was very appealing, but gloves were awful things. "And can't we just cut off the fingers, and /then/ enchant the gloves?"

The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group

" In order to have the Father Flame live in you, you'd have to kill me and my compatriots in a certain amount of time, before we were 'reborn'." He air-quoted the word "Reborn". He smiled, "Which means, unfortunately, you won't be able to. None of us are going to go down as easily as our predecessors....." He looked ashamed as he spoke the last part of the sentence. "None of them knew they had it in them. But we have had 400 years of practice and learning. Also unfortunately, no. With gloves, there needs to be an area of extreme focus, the fingers. I could teach you how to be a pyromancer without the use of gloves or gauntlets, but on a ship that could be attacked at any moment isn't the place to do it. It takes time that we don't have."

Jack nodded easily smiling. “We can do just that. I don’t know much about kitchen knives other than most of them are longer that those I tend to use. Which could be your difference, maybe look at a shorter, similar to a… um… paring knife?” She said. “Though the short blades are usually more helpful when in close combat, but they’ll be lighter to carry and possibly easier for you to throw. Which as I said before, you could probably throw your kitchen knives if the danger so arised.” Jack slowly stood stretching out of her sitting position. “Yes, sleep would probably be a good thing while we can still get it. I’ll have to look into it, cause like I said I don’t want the captain mad at me for putting holes in his ship. It’s so hard though with those nice thick beams. I’ve skipped out on many a boards for whittling up beams and such in rooms” She admitted starting to head back to the ship.

Avery rubbed her forehead, this question was rather annoying as she hadn't been given an exact answer herself. "Our captain is returning in the next day or so to the ship. I'd check back tomorrow or the next day for an update. He should be back by then." she told Garret. She wished she could help him more, or any of the people that had asked that question but knew it would be useless to worry about it this time. Next time they docked she'd remember to ask before the Captain disappeared.

A sea breeze hit her in the face, the salty air made her relax a little bit. However it also caused her to become distracted and lose place of where she was supposed to be heading. She found herself in a narrower street, the shops were smaller, and traffic was less dense then on the main shopping area. "Well this is just wonderful." she told the air, she checked her coin purse, readjusted the knives she had on her to make sure they were in easy reach, and continued on her way. She grumbled about knowing when they were leaving the port, and next time making sure she had somebody with her who wouldn't get lost. She hated getting lost.

sorry for the double post

((OOC: I was waiting for to post, but since she hasn't I just will.))

Garret nodded to the woman as she told him where to go in a few days time, however she didn't seem too sure of herself. He just mentally shrugged it off and kept going about his day. It was just about night time, so he decided to get himself some food and drink. Re-entering the pub, he ordered some food and drink with the money Master Matthew gave him. Where was that kid off to anyways?

Matthew fell to the deck of the ship, lunging at the portal back to no avail as it closed behind him. He fell to his hands and knees, keeping his tears to himself. Just then, Beelze appeared beside him, his hands behind his back, keeping silent. "Where is he now...?" Matthew asked moments later. "I'm sorry?" Beelze said with a raised eyebrow. Matthew stood up and asked the question again, more firmly this time. "Where is he now?" Beelze scratched the back of his neck and not long after said, "I honestly don't know. He should be on my level of the Crimson Kingdom, however he could be anywhere. That pocket room could have been anywhere in the Crimson Kingdom to be honest." Matthew was about to shout at the demon prince, before he quickly added, "However do not worry. Your father should be safe. He's a strong man, and he has my blessing. He shall not be vexed by the fires that burn there, or the chains that bind the damned." Matthew shook his head, saying "Thanks. That really helps my mood." Just then, he saw the knife-thrower woman heading towards the ship. Her name was Jack, too. He dismissed that thought and gave a small wave to her.
